Pros:

First dont make our mistake and book a room without windows! We managed to get one with windows but the first night was claustrophobic. Perfectly situated and close to everything included transport. Breakfast was real good, staff great, gym enough for us, bar pleasant with friendly staff.

Gorgeous location, but the staff really make it
Pros:

In the heart of Melbourne with historic buildings left and right this beautiful modern hotel stands out. But what makes the real difference is the staff. In particular Kayla-Leigh went extra mile to make sure that we had a room even though we showed up early and personally brought our things to us. She did all of this with patience (we bugged her several times) and a smile She’s professional and personable, and is the kind of staff that any hotel seeks.

Misleading and Subpar
Pros:

Rooms are tiny, no windows or natural ventilation, rooms are dated also I can hear my neighbours more than I care to. Slapping the Hilton Brand on this is incredibly misleading. I’d be better off staying at the Holiday Inn or Ibis. The pictures advertise are the equivalent of catfishing. Also when asked to get a refund and leave immediately or even get a better room - zero help. Nothing available apparently but I can go online and see there is in fact something mildly better available. Genuinely unsure if windows even exist in this building so why do you advertise these photos. I feel like I’m in prison but have been upgraded for good behaviour.
My review may change IF anyone cared to help but it’s too hard because it’s through an agent.

Very good location
Pros:

Nice room but on the small side. To have a river view we really don’t have a clear view of it. Train station right in front of us. Didn’t eat at hotel so I can’t comment . Front desk very nice . The gentleman’s name ends in “gar” super nice. Location is great. Tour great - food tasting . The art here is so unique. We would come back

Would absolutely stay again
Pros:

Stayed for 4 nights over the AFL Grand Final weekend. Received an early check-in which was fantastic. My room (King Skyline River View) on 8th floor had a brilliant view over Flinders St station, Southbank and down towards the MCG. Room had everything you need and although not huge, felt very spacious.

All the staff I encountered from the front desk to the restaurant for breakfast were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was great with many options.

Close the great restaurants, chemist and supermarket to get any snacks or things you may forget. Trams going all over Melbourne either out the front or short walk. Flinders St station across the road also.

Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Will definitely be back next time I need to stay in the CBD
Pros:

I had an excellent experience. Being granted a 1-hour early check-in was a nice surprise and helped me out a lot. The quality and delivery timing of the food for in-room dining was fantastic. Breakfast was a little old (as any buffet is, so no lost points here) but the selection was great for the price and it tasted amazing.

I expected a lot more noise given my windows faced Flinders St Station but the only thing I heard all night was the odd emergency services siren.

Room and bathroom was perfectly clean, no issues there.

All staff were very friendly, and I can't remember the staff member's name (maybe Hannah?) but someone helped me when I was placing my food tray outside my door and accidentally locked myself out... I really appreciated her help!

Price for a king room facing Flinders St Station wasn't too bad either.

Overall given the quality of the room, food, staff and location I will definitely be back when I need to stay in the CBD again.

If I were to nitpick anything, the only minor issues I had were:
* Shower glass doesn't extend far enough or have a door, floor/mat gets pretty wet.
* Toilet seat isn't fully fastened and popped off a couple of times.
* Bottom of bathroom door has minor signs of water damage (likely from point #1)
* The TV being right in front of the desk meant that when I ate my in-room dinner if I wanted to watch TV it was right in my face.
* Carpet is a little old-looking.
* In-room dining steak was very expensive (but to be fair, very good).

Honestly though, the above issues didn't detract from my enjoyable stay at all.

Pros:

The Hilton was not as nice as others I've stayed in and felt somewhat outdated. Our original room didn't have a good view, and although they upgraded us to a king room, it seemed like it might have been a less desirable room with no view. At $200 a night, I expected a better experience.

No complaints at all.

Stayed there for 2 nights……one night prior to my hospital visit and one night after. Felt very comfortable and no worries. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Disappointing DoubleTree Hilton Melbourne
Pros:

I paid over $1,000 to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Melbourne, but it was a disappointing experience. Check-in at 2pm on Sunday was delayed due to an absent, seemingly half-asleep receptionist. The first room had a poorly positioned TV with no swivel arm. After switching rooms, I found dated carpet and furniture, a paper-thin doona, and uncomfortably hard pillows. The Chromecast setup was a hassle, unlike better hotels with instant access. I was also wrongly charged for a breakfast I didn’t have. Despite a clean room and hot water, the central Flinders St location felt grotty. This hotel fell far short of expectations for the price.
