Gorgeous renovated Kasbah. Traditional stay. Enough room for all of us in the executive suite. We felt like we were living in shabby-chic luxury. Staff was excellent.
Hidden fees. Beware when booking via booking.com. There are hidden fees, and the additional costs are very high for the area. For example, dinner for is 450dh, probably high because there are no other options nearby, but this was fine. Though the total for dinner was a lot more than the quoted 450dh, but this is on us for not asking for more information upon checkout (we were unfortunately in a rush).
The unfortunate issue is that we booked through booking.com and prepaid but the hotel staff didn’t know this or pretended not to and charged us for the room again upon checkout. When they were shown receipts that proved that we were double charged, they continued to insist that the first charge never happened.
There was also an additional fee for the camel rides (transport to the desert as this is not on site) that we were charged upon checkout. They never warned us about this charge. We were happy to pay it but I recommend that you ask them for all costs upfront, including transports to activities, to avoid surprises.
Relaxed environment and attentive staff. Fabulous food. Just lovely authentic shabby chic Morocco
Food!!!!! Expensive and not ok
The location of the hotel was great and the setting for dinner and breakfast really excellent. But for the money you pay I think there were lots of things that could be improved on. For 160GBP per night I would expect a hairdryer in the room. We got one after asking but a really cheap tiny one. No kettle or fridge. Got a kettle eventually but didn’t arrive until asked again The room as you would expect v dark but no reading lights and the mattress not good quality and the duvet incredibly heavy. We did get the check out time wrong but they were gracious about it. Set dinner menu nice but no idea what it actually was apart from chicken. No drinks list or idea how much anything costs until the bill arrives. No fruit at breakfast even though I asked. The staff v sweet but didn’t have a great command of English. Pool nice and clean
Fabulous location and has the potential to be the most amazing hotel, but charging 5* money for 2-3* service unfortunately.
Staff need to have a lesson in customer service. No prices available for drinks or food. Room not worth the money, unless you are sharing .... didn't realise the Presidential Suite had 2 bedrooms!
If you need a place to stop from the busyness of life and be still in a place that offers a welcoming and calm atmosphere, great hospitality and great food then this is the place to be.
This was my first time to Morocco, and even though I booked last minute Faouzia helped me arrange airport transfer with very little notice.
When I first arrived I was captivated by the beauty of the Kasbah, the decor, and the consisent bird song heard by the pool.
The staff were so kind and friendly from my arrival to leaving, and being a solo traveller, this only added to my sense of feeling safe and very relaxed.
I was also able to arrange a massage on site which was fantastic.
Thank you to all the staff at Kasbah Agafay you made my first trip to Morocco an exceptional time, and a time that I will forever be grateful to have had.
A special thank you to Faouzia, Muhammed, Hamid, Hassan and Maria.
It really is an oasis in the desert!
.
A great restoration with an authentic feel. It now feels tired and in need of renovations. The bed was clean and comfortable but the furniture/ floor mats/ bathroom had seen better days . Spa?yoga? ? Tv in roomThe food was poor with little choice. However the staff were delightful- friendly and helpful. It felt strange being in such a vast kasbah with only 3/4 other people. Definitely NOT a luxury hotel and should not be described as such. We were very disappointed.

We stayed at Kasbah Agafay during the last week of July, and the experience was simply unforgettable. The hotel, a former fortress carefully converted into a boutique hotel, preserves all the authenticity and traditional beauty of Marrakech while offering comfort, charm, and hospitality in a unique setting.
The pool is extraordinary—spacious, surrounded by olive trees and gardens, and a true haven under the desert sun. Breakfast served by the pool was one of the highlights of our stay: fresh, varied, and with that personal touch that makes all the difference.
The rooms are another treasure of the Kasbah: spacious, beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan details, high painted ceilings, colorful carpets, and elegant wooden furniture. The beds are extremely comfortable, the linens of high quality, and every detail invites you to relax. Staying in these rooms feels like being immersed in a blend of history and comfort.
The facilities retain the Moroccan style in every corner—from the courtyards with fountains to the colorful lounges and the peaceful gardens. It feels like stepping back in time without giving up modern comfort.
But above all, what makes Kasbah Agafay truly remarkable is the service. We arrived late at night and were welcomed with a dinner prepared especially for us—a gesture that already showed the level of care of the staff. During our stay, my youngest daughter fell ill (completely unrelated to the hotel), and the way everyone was helpful and attentive exceeded any expectation: they prepared separate meals, were available at all times, and showed genuine concern.
I would especially like to highlight Faouzia, the hotel manager, whose dedication and attention to detail go far beyond what one could expect anywhere. She made us feel at home, like part of the family.
Another highlight is the hotel’s location, perfect for exploring the surroundings: camel rides at sunset, quad bike adventures through the desert, and day trips to the Atlas Mountains are all easily accessible and highly recommended.
Kasbah Agafay is not just a place to stay—it is an experience of hospitality, beauty, and Moroccan authenticity. Without a doubt, we will be back!
The calm and the inspiring design and decoration, the cleanness and the way they treat their guests.
The food is outstanding, a genuine Moroccan mom food taste.
Amazing rooftop views.
The wine was on another level!
The facilities top range the spa massages affordable and short notice.
I genuinely recommend this hotel for big and small events as well.
We could not identify any negative aspects of the location since we were seeking a unique experience.
The manager was lovely and very helpful. She helped organise an outing for us. The setting was beautiful and all the staff were very friendly
It's an old building and a few things didn't work so we had to change rooms. Not much to do there for entertainment
The property is simply wonderful and the service excellent. Hamid went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. It’s a unique place with unique people. Highly recommended!
