An amazing Kasbah, the decoration is traditional and extremely beautiful.
The staff makes you feel home, and will ensure you get a fantastic service.
The food is next level good: best tajine ever !
Gorgeous room with very good bed. (We never sleep that good !)
Really hard to review this property as we arrived during unseasonably cold and wet weather. I can imagine that on a balmy, night, the lovely gardens, grounds and outdoor facilities are great, but not so much in the rain. There was a log fire on arrival in the Kasbah and that was nice. And the staff tried really hard.
Pool was advertised as heated - it is not
Bath in our (otherwise nice) tent did not work at all, and shower was poor.
Road noise - not much could be done about this, but a consideration if staying in one of the tents.
Food - not bad, but expensive for what it was. Nice glass of wine though.
Rien!
breakfast was simple but tasty. Location perfect for our vacation. Would have liked to stay longer. Dinner was excellent - best tagine we have had.
dont know
We could not have been happier with our stay in this unique and very special place. As it was Ramadan and early in the season, we were the only guests, which made the whole experience feel like a quiet adventure, having the place to ourselves.
We spent a lot of time by the pool and in the surrounding areas. It was early March so still a little cool, but when the sun came out it was the perfect spot to relax. The pool is not heated, which didn’t bother us in the least, coming from Ireland we’re well used to a refreshing dip!
Afternoons were spent in one of the large tents, having lunch, then stretching out on low sofas and soft cushions for a rest. The wider grounds are truly beautiful. We arrived just after an unseasonably rainy spell, so everything was lush and green. Orange trees in fragrant blossom, and all sorts of flowering plants thriving across the patios and quiet corners.
We were given a tour of the property and were particularly taken with the cookery school, set within a generous herb and vegetable garden. There is also a lovely space used for yoga retreats, and a large hammam and spa, which was closed during our stay for renovations. The ongoing care and improvement of the place is very evident, and speaks to how thoughtfully it is run.
Our room was beautiful, set beside a small riad courtyard which I imagine would be especially welcome in hotter weather. The communal spaces are many, and each one has been created with real care. Traditional textiles, antiques, and reclaimed architectural pieces such as old wooden doors and tables give a strong sense of the Kasbah’s history, while still feeling comfortable and easy to settle into. The original artwork, particularly the photography, adds another layer of interest.
We chose to have all our meals at the Kasbah over our four-day stay, and I’m very glad we did. The evenings were cool, so the staff set a table for us beside an open olive wood fire, which was both cosy and atmospheric.
As I mentioned, the time of year (early March) was a little chilly in the evenings. Although this is obviously not within the control of the property, but perhaps a few wraps/blankets could be available in the large communal space for the evenings. That said, if we’d have asked, I’m sure they would have been provided!
Really nice staff, a very beautiful location and kasbah.
There was no mini fridge in the room.
Gorgeous renovated Kasbah. Traditional stay. Enough room for all of us in the executive suite. We felt like we were living in shabby-chic luxury. Staff was excellent.
Hidden fees. Beware when booking via booking.com. There are hidden fees, and the additional costs are very high for the area. For example, dinner for is 450dh, probably high because there are no other options nearby, but this was fine. Though the total for dinner was a lot more than the quoted 450dh, but this is on us for not asking for more information upon checkout (we were unfortunately in a rush).
The unfortunate issue is that we booked through booking.com and prepaid but the hotel staff didn’t know this or pretended not to and charged us for the room again upon checkout. When they were shown receipts that proved that we were double charged, they continued to insist that the first charge never happened.
There was also an additional fee for the camel rides (transport to the desert as this is not on site) that we were charged upon checkout. They never warned us about this charge. We were happy to pay it but I recommend that you ask them for all costs upfront, including transports to activities, to avoid surprises.
Relaxed environment and attentive staff. Fabulous food. Just lovely authentic shabby chic Morocco
Original, très beau, pur style marocain
Piscine extraordinaire, très grande, plein de transats
Très propre
Personnel au petit soin
Le lieu pour les petits déjeuners et repas est très beau
Nourriture sur place très cher
Food!!!!! Expensive and not ok
The location of the hotel was great and the setting for dinner and breakfast really excellent. But for the money you pay I think there were lots of things that could be improved on. For 160GBP per night I would expect a hairdryer in the room. We got one after asking but a really cheap tiny one. No kettle or fridge. Got a kettle eventually but didn’t arrive until asked again The room as you would expect v dark but no reading lights and the mattress not good quality and the duvet incredibly heavy. We did get the check out time wrong but they were gracious about it. Set dinner menu nice but no idea what it actually was apart from chicken. No drinks list or idea how much anything costs until the bill arrives. No fruit at breakfast even though I asked. The staff v sweet but didn’t have a great command of English. Pool nice and clean
Fabulous location and has the potential to be the most amazing hotel, but charging 5* money for 2-3* service unfortunately.
Staff need to have a lesson in customer service. No prices available for drinks or food. Room not worth the money, unless you are sharing .... didn't realise the Presidential Suite had 2 bedrooms!
If you need a place to stop from the busyness of life and be still in a place that offers a welcoming and calm atmosphere, great hospitality and great food then this is the place to be.
This was my first time to Morocco, and even though I booked last minute Faouzia helped me arrange airport transfer with very little notice.
When I first arrived I was captivated by the beauty of the Kasbah, the decor, and the consisent bird song heard by the pool.
The staff were so kind and friendly from my arrival to leaving, and being a solo traveller, this only added to my sense of feeling safe and very relaxed.
I was also able to arrange a massage on site which was fantastic.
Thank you to all the staff at Kasbah Agafay you made my first trip to Morocco an exceptional time, and a time that I will forever be grateful to have had.
A special thank you to Faouzia, Muhammed, Hamid, Hassan and Maria.
It really is an oasis in the desert!
.
A great restoration with an authentic feel. It now feels tired and in need of renovations. The bed was clean and comfortable but the furniture/ floor mats/ bathroom had seen better days . Spa?yoga? ? Tv in roomThe food was poor with little choice. However the staff were delightful- friendly and helpful. It felt strange being in such a vast kasbah with only 3/4 other people. Definitely NOT a luxury hotel and should not be described as such. We were very disappointed.
