Nice enough hotel but stay clear of Family rooms !
Pros:

Location was great and provided a short walk into Canterbury.

Hotel is going through some renovation work and the new areas look nice.

Bed was comfortable and bathroom was very clean.

Cons:

Was dissapointed with the 2nd night when the room next to ours which had been empty the night before were banging and shouting until 2am. When we talked to reception about this we were told that's because its the family room !!!

One other thing would have been nice is to be informed you have to ask for your room to be cleaned / new towels.

Did what we wanted for a short visit.
Pros:

Staff were excellent. First room had issues, but the staff swapped us to a another room which was fine. Location for getting into Canterbury was good (on bus route).

Cons:

Hotel was still being re-furbed, so no dining room.

Best Western Barton Abbotts is a good functional hotel within easy walking distance of Canterbury.
Pros:

Location, dog friendly, building with character, modern lobby and bar, engaged staff.

Cons:

Breakfast food smells pervading the hotel common areas (up to 3rd floor); b’fast juices made with concentrate; weak coffee.

Friendly staff, clean, spacious, dog friendly, and close to the centre - will definitely stay again
Pros:

We had a lovely weekend. The staff were lovely, the room clean and large, dog friendly, and 10 minutes walk from the centre (depending on how fast you walk). We didn't have breakfast as we had other plans, but it smelt good :) We'd definitely stay again!

Cons:

A fridge in the room to store or doggo's food would have been a bonus, but not the end of the world (we just kept it on the window sill).

Very pleasant stay with great food and outstanding service.
Pros:

The dinner and breakfast were excellent – fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. The restaurant atmosphere was stylish and cosy. The room was very clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and always around to help.

Cons:

There was a small issue with our Booking.com reservation – the room we had booked was not available and we were given a lower category room. However, the staff handled the situation professionally.
