Liked having the restaurant on site after a long day out exploring. Loved the location and ease of getting into Santa Cruz. Staff was extremely welcoming and friendly.
The swimming pool needs refurbishing. Still useable but the condition of the heated pool was disappointing.
It was in the redwoods a quick drive to boardwalk. The beds were supe comfy the room was pretty large and the staff were all super friendly and helpful
No jacuzzi
it was easy to get to and easy to get to the freeway. The staff was friendly (I called a few days prior to confirm my reservation) and we were able to check in early with no added fee. There is ample parking, a pool, and it's a quiet place to stay. I appreciated that there was a restaurant on site, although we did not visit it. We booked early so we got a good dead.
They offer complimentary pastries (muffins and scones) and coffee in the morning. The kids loved this!
There is nothing fancy about the rooms - they have basic amenities which was fine because we were mainly there to shower and sleep.
One of the reasons we booked this hotel, was for the pool - the kids were stoked. However, upon check in, we learned that the pool would not be available during our stay (the pump went out). I would have appreciated being contacted via email or text to let me know (although the front desk said it happened and they didn't have enough time to let guests know) OR for the Inn to provide some sort of compensation (free dessert at the restaurant or voucher for a meal or deal worked out with another pool in the area...)
The beds were ok in terms of comfort. We stayed in a two queen bed room and one of the mattresses sounded like it was on an IKEA metal frame so every. single. time you moved/rolled over/adjusted the blankets, the bed moved and made noise. That needs to be fixed!

Bottles of water should be in the rooms
Location
The staff wasn’t very friendly. They seemed bothered to be waiting on their customers.
The hotel offered coffee in the morning for 2 hours only. I wish with the amount of money that I paid per night they would have complimentary coffee and water in the lobby.
It was also a bummer that the restaurant was only open from 11:00am-10 pm
The hotel is in a good location between scotts valley and Santa Cruz, but there is nothing close by. So if coffee and water, and or even food was available it would have made the stay a lot nicer.
Rooms were clean but I think they have had the pillows since 1960. They could definitely upgrade their pillows.
The pool wasn’t working, which is one of the reasons we wanted to stay here, but the person at the front desk was very friendly and gave us a good discount. It was still worth it.
Just that the pool was broken.
Restaurant & bar onsite.
Lightbulbs were burnt out and had to request replacements but staff had to rob another room for a bulb..
No phones or phone book in the room. Couldn't phone front desk. It would have been nice to have a comfortable chair in the room rather than sit on the bed to watch TV.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Restaurant was good and we liked being able to walk over to eat.
Bar was closed due to a suspension of their alcohol license prior to us getting there. I booked that hotel so we could eat and have a few drinks without worrying to drive anywhere. Lady that checked us in was not very friendly, but we enjoyed our stay anyway.
Complimentary Coffee and pastries were great!
