Gross, go somewhere else
Pros:

We booked a presidential and it looked nothing like the pictures. Super outdated and the there was blood on the comforter in one of the rooms. We called twice to get a change of blankets and the person that came up didn't listen or care, dropping something else off and walking off quickly. A few days later, there was a HUGE cockroach in the hallway by the elevator. This was the WORST Wyndham resort and we will NOT be staying here again.

Decent Resort nothing special
Pros:

This resort is well maintained. My girlfriend had a massage and said it was absolutely the best she’s ever had. The gym has a good selection of equipment for a good workout. Overall you won’t be overwhelmed or disappointed pretty average resort.

The huge lie.
Pros:

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Palm-Aire/Wyndham during Mother’s Day weekend. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had.

I reserved a 1-bedroom unit and drove over 4 hours from Tampa with my daughter, arriving around midnight exhausted and expecting the comfort and quality Wyndham advertises. At check-in, I was told they were “upgrading” me to a 2-bedroom unit in Room 881. However, I was informed the elevator was out of service and I would need to use a service elevator to the 8th floor.

At first, I accidentally entered Building 8, which looked beautiful, smelled clean, and had well-maintained hallways and carpets. After realizing I was lost, I returned to the lobby for assistance. A security employee walked us through a long path toward the back side of the property where my assigned room actually was.

The second we entered that hallway, an overwhelming wet carpet and old dirty odor hit us in the face. The smell was so intense it immediately triggered both my asthma and my daughter’s. When we entered the room, it became even worse. The air felt heavy and impossible to breathe in comfortably. There was no way we could stay there safely.

I returned to the front desk explaining the health issue and asking for another room. I was told there were no more rooms available and was then offered another unit in an older building outside the security gate. While being guided there, we even encountered a raccoon near overgrown bushes, which terrified my daughter.

The second room was no better. It had the exact same old dirty smell, looked outdated, neglected, and nothing close to the quality or luxury advertised by Wyndham. At that point I realized I had completely wasted my money.

Around 2 AM, after hours of stress, exhaustion, and disappointment, I returned to the lobby and checked out entirely. I expected at minimum a confirmation email, an apology, and a refund since I never stayed or used the facilities. Instead, I was told the checkout information would come in the morning.

Being over 4 hours away from home with my daughter, I had no choice but to spend additional money booking another hotel just so we could sleep somewhere clean and comfortable.

The next morning I received a text from someone named Bella asking what happened. During our conversation, I was shocked by the response I received. I was told I should have waited until morning so they could “try” to find another accommodation — even though the night staff had already told me there was nothing else available. Was I expected to sleep in my car with my daughter while waiting for another excuse or false promise?

I requested a full refund since I never stayed in or used the room. Bella informed me they would need to “investigate” the smell first and that she could maybe refund only 1 out of the 3 nights “as a courtesy.”

Hours later she called back saying she personally checked the hallway and determined the horrible smell came from chemicals used to clean the carpets — meaning according to them, that somehow justified keeping my money for the remaining nights.

Absolutely unacceptable.

No guest should be forced to choose between their health and losing their money. This entire experience felt dishonest, dismissive, and incredibly unprofessional. I have never felt so misled and disrespected by a resort in my life.

I will never stay at Palm-Aire/Wyndham again, and I strongly encourage others to think twice before booking here.

Cancelled on us minutes before check-in
Pros:

Terrible - don't book! 45 minutes before check-in they cancelled my reservation (booked direct). They claimed they were overbooked and already cancelled it and wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor. I understand hotels oversell (I've worked in hospitality for 18 years so I know that's common) but policies usually have you contact the guest 24-48 BEFORE check-in, NOT 45 minutes! They put me and my family in an impossible situation, to find another hotel somewhere else and pay top $ because it was last minute. They gave me a relocation number to call and said we would be given "comparable" options. Those options? One was a hotel with a king room that SIX OF US WOULD HAVE TO SHARE (how is that legal??). The second option was for a 1-star hotel with all recent reviews complaining of bed bugs, rude staff and homeless shacking up in the lobby. The third option? "Or you can just cancel and find one on your own". We wouldn't have been in this bind if Club Wyndham Palm Aire didn't cancel minutes before check-in. For this part of our trip, the Club Wyndham WAS the destination, not just a random place to sleep. Eventually the relocation team miraculously found us a 1-star hotel that at least didn't have bugs and safety concerns (beautiful highway view though). I would recommend skipping the Club Wyndham Palm Aire unless you want to risk putting your family in a similar situation.

Good Centrally Located Resort
Pros:

I had stayed here 14 years ago and there was so much to do at that time so that's why I chose to stay here again. This is still a good resort, but they had cut back on some activities. We had to get a parking pass so that means having to listen to an "update". We said no 3 times but the concierge kept telling us why going to the update is important. We told her that we are not going to tell her again and he wants the parking pass so she finally relented. The first unit we were assigned was in the Royal Palms building. There was no washer/dryer in the unit so we called the front desk and they assigned us to the Sable Palm building with a washer/dryer in the unit. So make sure to ask about the washer/dryer if that is important to you. We had a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom unit which was very large and clean. We did our grocery shopping at Walmart which is close by. There is a Caesar's casino less than a mile away and we went there twice. I took a Zumba class there and the instructor is great. However when I was here 14 years ago, there were 2 Zumba classes. Now there is only one. Also, they used to show a movie at the pool but they don't have that anymore. They do still have the animal interactive event and the Polynesian dancers. The Bingo is free but they don't have any prizes until the last game. I did enjoy my time here.

Everything was great but the bar service and prices
Pros:

The pools and the hotel rooms were beautiful and clean and comfortable

Cons:

The bartenders not friendly at all and over charged I was charged for one drink that was $10 dollar a service fee $1.50 which was fine because it the correct amount but then she added her self an additional tip of $8.50 when I only ordered a $10 drinks and when I brought it to her attention she basically let me no she tipped her self extra my second drink I ordered was a double rum piña colada and after all her fee one drink cost me $27 and change it’s outrageous ! I won’t buy another drink there ever again .

pleasant
Pros:

large rooms, close parking

Cons:

extra charges for things, parking and local (on site) vending machines and snacks were very expensive. With what is charged to stay there it should be more budget friendly. We lost a full day of our vacation due to airline issues and no reimbursement was offered.

Cost effective family vacation.
Pros:

We had a great trip for Spring break week. Accommodations were clean and spacious for a family of 6; a little dated. But things like laundry (while not in the room like other locations) were very easily accessible. Towel exchanges and trash management super easy for larger than average families. My only big complaint was that we had to call a couple of times to use the grill by the pool. They had a beautiful seating area overlooking the pond with a propane fire place, nice seating, etc. Poolside. So my husband and I wanted to grill burgers for dinner, open a bottle of wine, and enjoy the evening. Maintenance did come but I got questioned “Well why do you need the propane fireplace?!” Ambiance was not this man’s concern. We have one at home so we know what goes in to turning one on…we doing it most evenings on the weekend. Then proceeds to ask me how long will I be using the grill so I was pretty sharp in responding “As long as it takes to make dinner😠”. All this to say that I don’t appreciate looking at options for ambience and entertaining that I’m not actually allowed to use. And the audacity of that man to ask how long am I using the grill…🤨

Not what I hoped for
Pros:

—There was no shuttle avail during spring break for the beach

—they charged my CC 107.00 after we told them at check in that we did not have a car to park, we used an uber, (this just appeared on my statement) then told I have to wait for accounting to come for a refund in 2 days

— Dont expect to get clean pool towels after 2 pm. They do not replace the towels in a timely fashion

A lovely stay for a short getaway.
Pros:

Everything was really great from check in to check out. Room was clean staff were wonderful. Amenities were great. My only thing is the chair saving and no one around. Today I witnessed multiple pool chairs with towels and no one around. Not sure how to fix it but it’s crazy.

Bad experience. Beware!
Pros:

Unless you are a young family that plans to cook all their meals I wouldn’t recommend the Palm Aire at all. First, there are no restaurants on the premises and just a tiny pool bar with limited hours. We didn’t rent a car so had to take an Uber to places for dinner since there is nothing within walking distance. They do have a shuttle to the beach area but it only runs 2-3 times a day and fills up quickly. Our room was adequate but housekeeping never came for our 3 nights and we had to scrounge for items like coffee and creamer. But the worst part of the experience was sitting through the sales presentation for their vacation club. It was supposed to take 2 hours but we stuck for well over 3 hours having to tell 5 different people that we didn’t want to join. And so glad we didn’t, because after talking to a couple who did and reading dozens of reviews, it appears to be a terrible investment. The reality is much different than what they entice you with. People spend a lot of money only to find out there is no availability for the locations they desire, then can’t out of the deal as promised. So make sure you do your research before investing.

It was a terrible experience for us, the worst!
Pros:

The building they put us was outside the gated resort and looked like an abandoned motel. It had caution tape on it and looked very run down. No other cars were there. Unbelievable really. We booked a 2 bedroom condo four months in advance. Nothing like their photos in our experience even after being moved to another building across from the three towers that are pictured in their photos. They moved us to the unrenovated side of the"Royal" on the ground floor so our patio was at the edge of a parking lot. The hallway to our room had old carpet and was apparently flooded recently. There were caution signs and large fans set up. It smelled both musty and like chemicals. Our room was very bare, no rugs in main area, no decor. The master bedroom had carpet that smelled awful, management came and agreed. Their solution was to have carpet cleaners come and cleaning it with is there in the room. They left us with wet carpet and huge fans to dry it. Both shower drains were clogged and backed up. It was the worst stay we have had anywhere and nothing like what they picture on their site as far as our experience. Front desk not helpful and the two times i asked to speak to a manager I was told she was in meetings. Luckily we had only booked two nights, it was terrible start to spring break!
