The best staff and food ever the room was great 👍
The hotel is in a great location on the promenade with fabulous views. Our room was lovely with quirky decoration and fixtures.nice to see lots of character. We had a room with sea view and enjoyed watching the tide come in and out and the dog walkers on the beach. Room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a bit basic it really could do with a shelf near the wash basin for toothbrushes and cosmetics as the only other ledge in the bathroom was behind the toilet and id not like to put toothbrushes there!, a towel rail and somewhere to put clothes while showering would be good too, there was only a small hook on the back of the door and no where to dry towels.
We had an evening meal which was Ok ish the curry was tasty but came in a large soup bowl and the consistency was more like soup having to fish for the bits of chicken at the bottom of the bowl and stopping the rice from submerging. We felt a bit uncomfortable in bar/ restaurant as the two males were stood at the other end of the bar just watching us the whole time and didn't engage in conversation with us at all, as visitor to the area asking how our day had been and sharing local knowledge would have helped even though it was quiet one of our orders was wrong. In contrast the two ladies on duty the next morning were delightful they chatted about the area made us feel welcome and had a smile on their faces.
The breakfast again was ok the continental part of the breakfast was basic no fruit juice on offer and cereals , pastries , toast and preserves limited choice and displayed in a dark area near the kitchen. the cooked breakfast was nice.
I wouldnt stayhere again and i probably wouldnt recommend the hotel apart form its location and quirky decor and at £200 a night for two people it is was overpriced .
Very welcoming staff. Room was beautifully decorated
Amazing cocktails
Cosy Hotel, well maintained and roomy bedrooms. Great food and breakfast.
Great location.
Friendly staff.
Room was
Limited street parking. Parking area 3 minutes walk away which is not great with baggage and bad weather as it was the case this weekend.
It was a great location, cosy room and the staff were friendly
Thought it was bit expensive for all it was, was no main bedroom light so it was very dark, would be hard to do makeup and get ready in the evenings without the natural light from the window.
Character and views
Lovely restaurant and the food was delish. Comfy beds and lovely view from the room.
Bar (the wild hare) had a function on which was annoying as we were so looking forward to going to it and there was so very little seating in the avoca bar itself as people had booked a meal so all the tables reserved and only a handful of high bar seats. Very annoying!! Lighting in room very very poor. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay
Very clean staff very nice
We couldn't get the temperature down in the shower it was very hot
