A relaxing getaway
Pros:

Ballygalley castle is situated on the sea front. The hotel was very welcoming with a warm fire in the foyer to sit around while looking at the stunning sea views. The hotel was peaceful even though it was busy.
Check-in was at 4pm, we had booked a coastal room which did not disappoint. The view from the room was stunning. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean with a bath and separate shower, fluffy white towels and bathrobes supplied.
On arrival we decided that we would have our evening meal in the hotel. The receptionist booked this for us. We were also given a few directions for the hotel to see the gardens and the haunted bedroom at the top of the tower in the oldest part of the hotel. The Ballygalley has a rich history which you could read about on the walls in the hotel reception.
The restaurant for the evening meal was decorated as you would expect a hotel with castle history to be. Our meal was lovely we went with the traditional fish and chips which was lovely and very reasonably priced.
The breakfast the next morning was plentiful. Continental options of breads and fruits. The hot option was a typical fry up. Tea, Coffee, fruit juices etc.

Relax and stay
Pros:

Just had a wonderful relaxing stay at Ballygally Castle Hotel, using gift voucher from our family in Australia we booked a dinner bed and breakfast package. The room was lovely, beautiful views over the gardens and the sea. Everything was immaculate and the bed was very big and very comfortable.
Dinner was superb, the menu was great and the food was delicious as was breakfast the next morning.
Really lovely, friendly and helpful staff made our stay feel special.
We really enjoyed staying in a hotel with modern facilities but with so much history and loved the ghost room and the gardens are beautiful and so well maintained.
We will definitely be planning a return visit.

Excellent Stay!
Pros:

We stayed for one night and couldn’t fault anything about the experience. Room was spacious, well maintained and finished to a high standard. Bed was comfortable and there were tea, coffee and bath robes and slippers in the room. We had a two course meal at the restaurant which was beautiful and a buffet breakfast the next morning which was also really good! Would recommend

Lovely Night Away
Pros:

We stayed for one night in Feb 2026; its been years since we have been here but thanks to some Christmas vouchers we booked to stay. The weather was typical Antrim coast - rain! However we had a great time; the hotel is beautiful, the rooms big and clean, we had a great view and the staff were very helpful. This is perfect for a relaxing get away. If you want to party its really not the place; the bar is quiet and closes around 11pm although stays open for residences, there also isn't any bars etc within a reasonable distance. Its really a nice place to get away for a few nights and explore the area. Will definitely be back.

FANTASTIC PLACE
Pros:

I normally write my reviews down straight away but I am late uploading to Trip Advisor. This is a fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. We had been here many years ago. We booked a sea view room. When we arrived we were told our room had been upgraded. We were shown our room, which was a lovely room overlooking the garden. We really wanted a sea view so we did go back down and say. We had to wait for the manager who wasn’t there to see if we could have one. We waited in the bar area which was lovely. Luckily after a while we were told we could have sea view room. Lovely beach over the road. Full of history. Restaurant was very good. Garden was beautiful with fantastic smelling flowers. Totally recommend this place, we had a fantastic stay.

Perfection
Pros:

I can’t explain this location without using the word perfect! It’s sitting on the water and you can watch and listen to the sea the whole time. The staff couldn’t be kinder and the food is amazing. All the facilities are brilliant. We seriously can’t wait to go back. A hidden gem!

Coastal Cracker...
Pros:

My wife and I had an smashing overnight stay in the Garden Suite which exceeded all our expectations...we highly recommend.

Looks can be deceiving as we've drove past this venue 100's of times and never though about staying but so glad we did.

The Castle in steepped in history and autenticity but the luxury carpet, fixtures and fittings, gave it tat bit of class.

Our room the Garden suite was luxious, comforable and clean...exactly what we wanted.

The food and service as the bar and restuarent was a real highlight. Staff all seemed to have a smile, wanted to have a chat and always seemed to have a bit of time to serve and answer any questions.

Overall great staff and a venue we'll definitly return too.

Great Stay
Pros:

Stayed at Ballygally Castle for the 2nd time. Had drinks, Bed & Breakfast and Evening Meal and experienced the show by Mowtown Sensations (last year was Elvis Experience). Great entertainment that interacted with the audience & kept everyone dancing throughout the night. Decent value for money and the Glencloy room in the tower was very comfortable and clean.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Enjoyed a very relaxing two day break. So peaceful in the reception area and we loved just sitting with a drink looking at the ocean outside. Was so relaxing. We had a lovely room looking over the sea. Again so so peaceful. Great early in the morning sitting with a coffee and enjoying the sound of the sea. Even saw two dolphins one morning which was incredible. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A couple of nice surprises added for my wifes birthday which was both unexpected and very gratefully recieved. A special mention to staff member, whose name is Liam I believe. He was so helpful and friendly and went out of his way to make sure you had all you needed throughout our meal in the Garden Restaurant. A very kind gentleman. Food was also very good no complaints at all. In overview a lovely relaxing two days and will most definitely be back.

Sunday buffet - lack of warm starters choice of meats and veg poor and cold custard- the offering was disappointing
Pros:

Extremely poor for the price choice was terrible nothing for kids but charge £20 per head for them. Food wasn’t warm just tepid. The meats there were three the veg one choice and gravy was the only sauce offered. We waiting for almost 15 mins for more soup and waiting again for a further 10 mins for custard for the warm apple crumble - when it came it was cold!! This place has been recommended but for £38 per head the value for money was lacking and the offering poor!!

Perfect stay
Pros:

I had the best time at this Hotel. Everything from the staff to the rooms were absoulte perfect. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was huge. The bed was a cloud mattress which is funny because it felt like i was sleeping on a cloud. The best night sleep i have had in a long time. The pillows and quilt were duckfeathers, so comfortable. The food was good but it was better about 15 years ago when i went but still a good meal. The staff were brilliant and so accomadating and friendly and liked a laugh as im a joker. We went and watched the abba tribute and it was absoultley amazing. We met some amazing people and cant wait to go back. This is a class hotel perferct for relaxing. Im not sure if they are dog friendly but it would be great if they were. I just want to thank the staff for a great stay it was amazing!

Family Lunch at the Castle
Pros:

Visited Ballygally Castle today for lunch with my family and my special granddaughter. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was so relaxing, and all of the staff were fantastic, especially Ann, our server, who was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meal, and compliments to the chef for such lovely dishes. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit.
