Lovely gift shop and great breakfast!
Shower head was every high and water flow wasn’t great! Room could use an upgrade but everything was clean and comfortable.
Don’t believe “this is a hidden gem” and “an oasis in the desert”…it was one of the most unpleasant stays I’ve ever had in a motel. This is a two story, u-shaped structure, with all rooms opening to the outside. We were traveling with our dog, and I signed a threatening pet policy which included a caution that if there was any evidence the pet had been on the furniture we were subject to a deep cleaning fee as well as a threat that if our dog barked we were subject to expulsion at any time of night. When we got to our assigned room, we found it located at the bottom of the stairwell to the second floor. I knew our dog could bark if there was a lot of foot traffic outside our room. Was told that they could not move us because the room was considered “dirty” since we had walked in it. OK, fingers crossed it works out. The next thing is that a woman was hanging over the railing on the second floor screaming at a bunch of kids running around like hellions. We looked at each other like what on earth had we gotten ourselves into? At 3AM, our dog started barking…I could hear noises outside, but just concentrated on keeping our dog quiet. Learned the next morning that the police were called to quiet the disturbance by the same women we saw earlier in the day as she was screaming, banging on doors, etc. Also learned that she and other adults and many foster children were living there as they were displaced from a house fire. Needless to say, had a terrible night’s sleep. Prior to checkout, I was tidying the room (I always put our sheets over the top of the bedspreads just in case our dog jumps up), so when I pulled our sheets back I saw a lot of white dog hair all over the bedspread (our dog is black). The photo is after I lint rolled it. I asked for some consideration from management for our poor experience and got none. This was a last minute booking, swayed by good reviews, as our preferred hotels were fully booked. Coffee maker spewed coffee all over the counter, inadequate outlets available for charging and plugging in a sleep apnea machine, bugs in the tub (apparently they come up in the plumbing), old dated hotel.
Large room, clean, friendly staff.
Spacious room with a kitchen at a reasonable price. Staff was very helpful supplying kitchen items and extra clothes hangers, pleasant stay, convenient to White Sands NP. Tasty breakfast included too
Large parking area
Location and price
Our room was clean and comfortable. Location was very convenient to where we wanted to go.
Property is a little dated.
NIGHTMARE in Alamogardo. Do not waste your time or money staying at this property. Room upkeep seems to be a major problem. Dried food under the desk, coffee maker with mold and mildew, a jucuzzi that did not work properly. In addition, for entertainment, we experienced a five person shouting match in the parking lot after midnight which required a property official to break it up. When we spoke with the front desk the following morning, they just brushed it off like it was a normal thing at this hotel. No apologies offered. Orange juice must be a very valuable commodity in this town as no
Breakfast was another adventure. They do offer a free breakfast, which would be nice if all the options were available on the limited menu. The kicker was when we were told they had no pancakes because the pancake machine was down. Orange juice must be a very valauble commodity here, and none was available to the guests.
Breakfast was fabulous. The room layout and decor was pleasing and comfortable.
The heater took over ten minutes to start producing heat. The bed and pillows were not my favorites. Two of the three lights in the main room were bright beams . I prefer softer and more general lighting.
It brought back memories of traveling with my parents!
Great hospitality!
The building is nice and well painted, the staff is very nice. Jesse is very welcoming and nice. The breakfast is good. The towels are great. The price is good and is very close to White Sands National Park.
The carpet on the second floor aisle needs to be replaced. We could hear the noise from the room next door.
