Absolutely fantastic hotel. Brilliant location, super helpful staff. Extremely clean. The free tea/coffee/ water facilities on the 2nd floor were very welcome during the heat wave. Cute wee gym with peoton bikes.
Just returned 27/6.
Kixby Hotel has an ideal central Manhattan location, quoted $80 for taxi from JFK airport so got air train $8 & $3 to penn station , a fraction of the taxi prices. Times sq, Macy’s, close also Andrew’s Diner was used frequently as food there was lovely!
Modern, stylish, clean & friendly with good service. Our queen room was small but comfy beds, good clean bathroom and coffee machine. ( refreshment room also available which was great) saves keep asking for supplies.
Free water bottle included in fees. (Smaller fees than another 4* we stayed in)
Some street noise but who doesn’t get this in nyc with sirens. Has a nice but small rooftop bar, with views of Empire State. Didn’t partake in breakfast so can’t comment.
Used Irish bar but thought overpriced compared to others.
Had to move for our last night, due to football, really wished we didn’t have to!
Highly recommend this hotel, we wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Brilliant hotel next door to Macy’s and Herald Square.
Subway is at the end of the street, two minutes walk away.
Rooms clean and spacious (in NY terms), excellent air con and in the heart of Midtown.
Amazing and friendly staff - wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family .
What a lovely hotel! My daughter and myself stayed for 5 nights and couldn’t fault it! We were met by super friendly and helpful staff, check in was easy and you’re given a water bottle to keep. The room is a good size, the bathroom is a little on the small size but wasn’t a huge issue. Toiletries were supplied with shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Soap, shower cap, moisturiser and tissues by the sink. The closet had a decent hanging rail with hangers, iron, ironing board, hairdryer also supplied. There is an umbrella and dressing gowns in there which you can use but if you want to take them home there is a charge. I was staying for my 50th birthday and the hotel left a wonderful note and a bottle of champagne for me, which was lovely! There is a safe and a coffee machine. They replenish the pods/milk etc everyday (for any other brits they do supply tea pods which are actually quite nice!) There are also plenty of charging ports which are on the base of the lamps and clock, very handy! On the 2nd floor there is a room where you can refill your water bottles or get a take out coffee/tea and if you go in there at the right time there’s fruit and biscuits. The hotel is in a great location too with Macy’s at the end of the road, subway and I highly recommend Pio Bagels on W 36th (next street) their bacon, egg and cheese is delicious!!
From the moment we got in we thought it was nice . Check in good with a free water bottle each . Pent house room . Roof top bar was lovely with the Empire State Building just there .
Floor 2 has complimentary water , tea and coffee anytime of the day . Coffee machine in room . Bar/ restaurant was nice . Location very good not too far away by either walking or subway . Helpful staff . Would definitely book there again and recommend to others
Nice little hotel with a central location and an awesome rooftop bar where you can see the Empire State Building lit up at night. I want to give special praise to the housekeeping. Many hotels nowadays don't have daily housekeeping service but this one does. Everything was spotless, towels and other supplies replenished daily and room always tidied up, bed made, etc. Love the room decor of blue walls and the wrought iron chandelier.
The only downside I would say is the elevators were small and slow but that is not unusual in older New York hotels, and the continental breakfast was pricey for what it was (around $25).
Clean-most important, staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. Easy access to subway.
We had outside wall room with a lot of street noise and rooftop bar noise. Elevators were sub par. Confusing on how to use. Especially the rooftop bar access. Wait too long for elevator.
Service from the moment we got there was excellent, the rooms were surprisingly larger than what you get these days for a boutique style hotel especially in NY, location was great.
While the rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was a little on the tight side.
Floor was dirty no shampoo or shower gel even through reported his. Towel were dirty twice. Glasses on roof terrace had lipstick on.
No coffee twice at 7.30 ish at their drinks station
Rooms are very small we had king lux and bed stuck out so we walked into the bed every day several times as it was tight for space
The lifts never worked fully. Most of the time only 1 lift out of the two lifts were working and often they were being used by house keeping. Go to room at 4pm one day and housekeeping we’re in at that time so had to wait 20 plus mins to get in room n change when we had reservations that night
Raised issues with reception a gentleman called Jay had an answer to everything but no apology just talked over you. Found him to be very rude and disrespectful
Smoking is allowed straight outside the door so had to walk through smoke every time going in or out of the hotel
Roof top bar was closed twice during stay for private events
I would 100% consider another hotel for the price we paid it was very disappointing
Grace at the front desk was more than amazing I forgot a luggage bag found out after I arrived at the airport. Called and she found it for me, was extremely nice and helpful I can’t thank her enough.
Rafael at the front desk as well he gave me an upgrade to my room upon arrival was very pleasant and professional.
Honestly the hotel is at a great location walking distance from almost everything.
Rooms are very clean.
Staff is the cherry on top, was staying in another hotel close by and the staff here are on a whole other level tbh. All are very professional and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.
Staying at the kixby right now 6th june this hotel is really amazing we got a twin queen room plenty big enough for 3 adults. Location is excellent Herald square subway is at the end of the block really easy to use! macys at the end of the block Times square is about a 15 minute walk. ESB is a 4 minute walk. The staff are so helpful as well. The roof bar the look up is a great view if the ESB music a little loud for me but im old ish lol. Stayed in the 6th floor and couldn't hear the music at all in the room which was good. Absolutely loving our stay at kixby NYC is amazing. The Irish bar and resturant is great and nice food shepards pie and bangers and mash
Great location not even 5 minutes from Macy’s! Clean comfortable room with very comfy bed ! Water bottles were great in hot weather , able to fill with ice and water 24 hours a day, also free tea and coffee a nice touch. U can get both in the amenity room, floor two.
We found all staff including reception staff very friendly and helpful. Safe in room good and we had good air conditioning! Rooftop bar a nice touch not too busy! Close to subway and a good supermarket called Toast good selection including breakfast , lunch etc! We were facing onto Main Street yes noisier than what we used to, but didn’t stop us sleeping. Would definitely return to Kixby hotel !!!! xx
The roof top patio bar & restaurant. Location.
Breakfast ends too early (on a Saturday morning). I got there at 9:45am and they were already breaking down the Breakfast.

During our recent vacation in New York, we stayed at the Kixby Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would especially like to commend manager Jean-Paul (JP). He does an excellent job.
We highly recommend the Kixby Hotel.
Best regards,
Bert and Ine S.
Great location five minute walk to Times Square and Broadway. Boutique feel with large rooms and a bar/restaurant attached serving great food and lovely draft ales.
Gym onsite too and a water station to refill your complimentary bottles given on arrival.
Two minutes from the subway and only five mins from Penn Station and the quick overground LIRR to JFK.
The hotel itself is nice, clean and very central to all things you’d want to visit. Subway is at the end of the street too. The rooms are quite small but for a city break wasn’t an issue. Wardrobe with hanging too.
It was very very noisy from the street but you’d get that pretty much anywhere in central NY. Bring ear plugs as there is construction all over and they stop very late in the night and start again early. Deliveries and bin collections throughout the night too.
Our Air Con unit was either on full blast (loud) or off. So it’s pretty noisy but on the plus side it helped drown out the street noise.
Hotel has tea coffee and water on the 2nd floor which was a nice touch.
Such a stunning hotel in midtown with a beautiful room, comfy bed and a bonus of the lookup rooftop bar with superb views of empire state building.. staff were all lovely, helpful and pleasant. One night our tv was playing up and within half an hour we had a new tv put in, such great service .. very clean and tidy. Also the black tap craft burgers is part of hotel, absolutely banging burgers..
This hotel also has a pantry with free tea, coffee, water of all kinds whenever u like, brilliant, I love a cuppa, they had my favourite English breakfast tea too, my husband loved the Colombian coffee they had 4 different varieties.Great location right next to macys, food places, irish pub few doors down also niku x nextdoor nearly, loved thos place. Great hotel ,highly recommended
Hotel location 10/10 noisy rooms only single glazing . Room small but bathroom was very very small . Clean and lovely white bedding and towels . Breakfast was continental was ok if you didn’t have any dietary needs . Girl that was on duty in breakfast was always on her phone not very helpful. Wouldn’t book the Kirby again if we do ever come back .
