Have stayed here a few times in the past and it's always lovely. Could be updated/upgraded a bit.
Pros:

Room was clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Right across from the beach. Warm and beautiful pool. Very comfortable bed and always found a parking space.

Cons:

I really wish there was an onsite bar for a nighttime glass of wine or other beverages or at the very least, available for sale in the lobby. A continental breakfast would be nice too. Parking seems a little expensive considering there is no onsite food so you have to walk/drive places. Map given at front desk was confusing--the V for vending is not color coded correctly. Pool and sauna hours should be extended to accommodate guests going out to see SB and experiencing it's night life.

The landscaping, the room decor, the cleanliness, were all as should be at a hotel in this price range.

Cons:

The pool water temperature was too warm. It would have been even more appealing if it had not been heated to such a warm temperature. The hot-tub was correctly heated.

Great location but I expect way better customer service at a hotel like that.
Pros:

The experiences worth remembering were the location, cleanliness, weather and the kind, young man at valet.

Cons:

4/19/26 Lady at the front desk was not exactly welcoming, very off putting, could've been more transparent. Says the room isn't ready for another 2 hours, then just a few minutes later the room became available?? Hotel claims "energy efficient" by requiring guests to insert room key in a slot inside the room in order to turn the lights on/off but the lights stay on after leaving the room...? "City view" is just a view of the other building on the property. Spent $400 on a room where the room key reader stopped working.

Exceptional Stay at Harbor View Inn — Outstanding Service, Impeccable Housekeeping & A Perfect Santa Barbara Experience
Pros:

Our stay at the Harbor View Inn in Santa Barbara was absolutely outstanding! We stayed in Room 105 West, and everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish.

The guest service was truly exceptional — Cameron, Eneida, and Aaron all went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made a huge difference and created such a warm, relaxing experience.

The housekeeping team was also phenomenal. The room was impeccably maintained every single day, and the level of cleanliness and care was among the best we’ve experienced anywhere.

The Harbor View Inn combines a beautiful location with a staff that genuinely cares about its guests. We can’t wait to return to Santa Barbara and stay here again!
