Location was great. Beautiful view of the bay and walkable to lots of places.
It was close to everything and loved being by the water
The water
The view, the hotel was beautiful.
They were way understaffed so our room was not ready when we arrived at 8:00pm, and room service never came to clean our room the next day, no biggie but we did need clean towels. We even asked the front desk twice and they never showed. We were not the only family who had to wait in theirs rooms.
Amazing staff, beautiful hotel, & an overall memorable experience! We’ll be back soon for some late summer fun & the Christmas holiday season!
The staff was courteous, consistent and efficient. Each person an encountered were intentional about making sure they attended to my concerns. Great customer service across the board.
All good except a little loud by elevator. Staff did tell us about it though.
All good
I liked the relative cleanliness and facilities offered.
Pool was small and full of kids, no adults only time. Jacuzzi was being hogged by families not following a 6 person limit and no one was enforcing rules. No free wi-fi, no complimentary breakfast, could not use own devices on tv, no free parking and small beds.
Have stayed here regularly for over 10 years. Although I love the location and the staff are awesome (Ken and Donnie working the lobby bar are top notch), I am becoming frustrated with the cleanliness and parking.
Self parking for $30 is ridiculous in Corpus Christi. The garage is tight and hectic when cars and entering and exiting at the same time.
Also the cleanliness of the rooms leave a lot to be desired. My last
Stay had a nasty moldy toilet.
They are doing renovations so hopefully the room quality improves but hopefully they don’t use that to jack up parking rates.
The family and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. Omni is known for being a superb hotel so we opted to join as select guest loyalty members, upgraded for packages they offered and we excited for our stay. Overall, it was underwhelming.
Guest services were kind and polite, but the actual experience could've been much better. I was in correspondence with a loyalty ambassador in which she offered a treat to be delivered to the room as a birthday celebration- never came. Prior to that I met her downstairs and had inquired about booking the sea turtle experience, although she didn’t know much information about it so she said she’d contact them and get back to me- never did.
The room itself was okay but felt dingy. It reeked of disinfectant to give the illusion of cleanliness but could’ve been cleaned better. The room came with a view of burger king + gas stations and the balcony was filthy with sticky sour smelling liquid on the floor so we tried to spend as little time in there as possible.
We immediately went to the pool area but it was more like a packed ymca- with nowhere to sit. We tried to enjoy ourselves for what it was worth after driving 4 hours. We ordered a few drinks and apps at the outdoor bar. It advertised craft cocktails but gave dive bar. I decided to close our tab after I had asked for a sugar rim on my margarita… the bartender handed me sugar packets.
We figured we’d have better luck with a nice dinner upstairs at the Republic steakhouse. We arrived early for our reservation and were excited for the live music! We asked if we could sit somewhere in the vicinity of the band since our kids also play instruments and it would add to the experience if they could watch. They denied our request and instead tucked us in an completely empty area right outside of the kitchen door. We ordered cocktails, appetizers and entrees all once to be fully coursed out. The appetizers were tasty! But one could only assume that because we were the only table in a deserted section of the restaurant, we were forgotten about. After waiting 45mins for entrees, my husband went to look for our waitress. He came back unsuccessful but spoke to a hostess who said she’ll let our server know. After almost 20minutes more… our kids are quite literally falling asleep at the table and we’re all growing irritable from waiting. At that point we decided to end the service. As we’re getting up from the table, the entrees and our server arrive frantically. I explain that we’d be leaving now and she asked if she should get the manager. The manager arrived, I communicated our experience and explained that tonight just missed the mark. The manager apologized and we thanked our waitress for her kindness as I left to put the kids to bed while he paid the check. Note: We paid for what was consumed, the manager gave us the entrees to go, we tipped on the full amount. We tried a bite in the room and had to toss the rest out. We weren’t sure if it tasted bad because it was rushed but it was not good at all.
We visited a museum early the next morning, but made it back to the hotel in time for lunch at Switchgrass Landing. At this point, we were starting to question the hotel’s operations. The restaurant was almost empty and we were hungry- so we figured things would be quick and smooth. Again, we ordered everything at once. Our waitress came back to the table a few times to ask about the cocktail I had ordered, a carajillo. After 20 mins and several empty handed trips I told her don’t worry about it, water was fine. We had already ordered a fish sandwich, chicken sandwich, kid’s burger + kid’s kabob, but it took over 40minutes to come out and they brought us grilled cheese instead of the burger. By the time his burger came out we were spent, we had used most of our energy and sanity fighting off 3 restaurant flies that were attacking us and literally snatching the food out of our mouths. It was gross and just too much, we gave up.
Note: we are actually a very chill and easy going family who also work in hospitality industry in Htx, so we give more grace than most but at this point the whole family is questioning my decision making with this hotel.
After lunch, we left to Aransas beach for the rest of the day. We came back for the bbq buffet (tasted great!) and fireworks at the bay, worth the watch! We were in bed shortly after with checkout being the next day. But with the room being on the side of the busy streets- all of the loud traffic and commotion outside left us restless.
Before getting back on the road, we grabbed the Sunday brunch buffet. The chefs on waffle duty were very kind and personable. The only downside to brunch was it was limiting. I can’t eat pork or eggs, which was majority- so I ended up paying a $50 for a waffle. Oh well, kinda disappointing but to be honest that became the theme of the trip.
Overall, we agreed there wasn’t much value in our stay at Omni Hotel + resorts. Spending over $900+ for 2nights… we could have just stayed in the city for bbq and fireworks.
I can’t say I’d recommend.
Garage parking and the staff was friendly
Property is very outdated for the price.
The early Check in was a blessing truly thankful.
Ice machine wasn’t working on our floor but that’s okay I easily went to the next floor so not that big of a deal
Enjoyed the extras provided by the hotel for the July 4th celebration
