Pros:

A real hidden gem. All the staff have been amazing no matter what their position the the hotel. Rooms were clean and in keeping with the period property.

Though aside the quietness around the estate and plenty of room to sit. The food was absolutely amazing. Every meal we had was presented well, the food was hot and titilated the taste buds.

Pros:

I loved the historic building and its wonderful peaceful setting. The beautiful Cedar Atlas in the garden was spectacular and made a super backdrop for photos.

The grounds and setting are beautiful and rural. Delightful old manor house.
Spacious double room with garden views. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast included.

Good but could have been great
Pros:

Charming historic building in a fantastic location.
Very comfortable room.
The food was excellent and the waiting staff were great.

Cons:

The room was not serviced on the second day of our stay. The concierge did manage to refresh the hospitality tray and give us some free drink vouchers when we reported this.

We were staying in one of the suites, so I don’t see how it could have been overlooked by housekeeping.

The hotel is supposed to be accessible however if you are unable to walk at all it is not. There are steps and the gravel outside is impossible to role a wheelchair through

Very hot.
Couldnt open the windows enough to get a throughflow of air.

Lovely stay pet freindly, a creaking good venue/room😉 !
Pros:

Staff were superb, very dog friendly. Breakfast suoerb.

Cons:

Only gripe was with the room, we were up in an attic room , nice and quiet except for the bed which defied the laws of physics to the amount of creaking and noise it generated.

Didnt mind the beams, didnt mind the access, just a darn noisy bed !

Lovely place, very comfortable, good location
Pros:

Lovely location and beautiful building, we got rooms upgraded, they were really lovely. Breakfast was great, staff very accommodating and helpful.

Cons:

We were part of a large wedding party staying there and we all hoped to meet in the bar after the wedding. We got there at 11.30’ish but they wouldn’t open the bar so there were many disappointed guests.
They also double charged our rooms and put them onto the wrong credit card, even though I specifically asked them not to use it. They did refund it after a few weeks but it took a bit of chasing.

It was friendly, clean but a little tatty.
Pros:

Breakfast was OK. The young man who served our evening meal was friendly and hard working

Cons:

Our room didn’t have air conditioning. The tap in the bathroom was wobbly and when we hanged our clothes in the wardrobe the rail fell down.

A shower. Not sure if I missed this when I booked but we had a small hand held shower head in a small bath.

Hiccup in restaurant 1.5 hour wait between closing evening meal and its arrival burnt acknowledged expertly and resolved by manageress

Cons:

As soon as you drive though the gates to go up the driveway there’s 2 or 3 large potholes,not a good first impression
The rooms are very tired and dust and cobwebs in corners/ceilings etc!

Lovely hotel would stay again
Pros:

Lovely hotel full of character. Our room exceeded expectations, spacious and the four poster bed very comfortable. Bathroom was huge and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the waitress.

Cons:

Nothing negative to say about the hotel or our stay there.
