A Grande Dame of a Hotel
Pros:

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a land portion of a Viking cruise. It's a lovely old hotel, somewhere I would never splurge for when traveling independently, so it was nice to be able to experience it.

The bellmen took charge of our bags and we were checked in quickly and efficiently. This is a convention hotel and is quite large so after taking the elevator to our floor we still had a bit of a walk along the thickly carpeted hallways before we reached our twin room. Our bags were delivered a short time later.

The room itself was large by European standards, at least in my experience, but had the standard hotel room layout with shelves and a closet on one side, the bathroom on the other, before stepping into the area with the beds. The beds were extremely soft, which my friend liked, though I prefer something firmer. As it's an older building, there were no electrical outlets that were convenient to the nightstand and we had to utilize other outlets.

The TV and a desk were across from the beds. The hair dryer was affixed in the single shallow desk drawer. At least there was a mirror over the desk but it seemed strange not to be able to dry our hair in the bathroom.

And the bathroom was quite large. I loved that it had a fully-enclosed shower stall (no water leaking on to the floor) as well as a bathtub. There wasn't a lot of storage at the sink but we were only there for two nights. Two bathrobes and sets of slippers were also provided. I did find it annoying that the bathroom door would not stay open. The massive fluffy towels were heavenly!

It is an old hotel and while it has a grand facade, there are small things to remind you that upkeep of these places is difficult. Our bathroom sink had a crack in it and the wallpaper above the tub was peeling a bit. Fortunately it was not hot while we were there because while the thermostat said 18C/64F when we arrived, there was no way it was that cool in the room, which was a little stuffy when we arrived. We opened the window to air it out and the room did eventually cool down some, but never to the level which the thermostat indicated.

Being a large convention hotel, there are, of course, great public spaces. The lobby has a grand staircase with comfortable seating areas on either side. There's a bar on that same level which always seemed to be busy. The floor above contains conference areas of various sizes.

The breakfast buffet is massive and wonderful. While not all room rates include the buffet, you'll find an enormous amount of food and will not leave hungry. On the lowest level you'll find the gorgeous pool along with the fitness center and spa.

Should I ever return to Budapest I'd be delighted to stay here again.

Beautiful Hotel, good location to see fabulous Budapest.
Pros:

The Corinthia is a beautiful hotel. The Spa was stunning and a highlight of the hotel. Rooms were clean and large. A trio played in the dining room over dinner which rang throughout the hotel.

Cons:

There were small details that were overlooked in the rooms. Not enough plug points to plug in kettle or phone chargers. The lamps in the room did not having working bulbs and some not plugged in as no socket was nearby.

Fint på utsidan, ok på insidan - bra frukost med god omelett.
Pros:

Femstjärnigt men jag förväntade mig mer. Rummen motsvarar inte entréns luxuösa känsla. Ska boka ett mysigare hotell nästa gång med mer karaktär.

Cons:

Jag fick inte utlovade saker från personalen. Strykjärnet på rummet var pinsamt uselt - det fick vi dock byta ut till en ångstrykjärn vilket var ok.

Not a 5 star experience, Billing errors and unmotivated staff
Cons:

This property falls short of standard five star expectations and is in desperate need of a refresh. The staff lacks energy and demonstrates a complete absence of a service oriented mindset. To make matters worse, a billing error occurred and I was double charged for breakfast. Instead of rectifying their mistake and issuing a refund, the team simply offered an apology, leaving the duplicate charge completely unresolved.

A Grand Budapest Hotel!
Pros:

Loved the Royal Spa access with my deluxe room. We went everyday. Beautiful Art Deco pool, free sparkling water, towels, blankets and two jacuzzis, sauna, salt sauna, free ice and a steam room. Hotel room was large with marble bathroom and toiletries...even a sewing kit!

Chique en groot hotel, mooi gelegen tegen de rand van District 7.
Pros:

Een groot hotel op Amerikaanse wijze: alles is er, en van uitstekende kwaliteit. Prachtige spa.

Cons:

Omdat het zo groot is is het ook wat onpersoonlijk. Als je naar de inrichting van de kamers kijkt kunnen die in elk Amerikaans hotel passen.
