We was left rather disappointed, upon arrival I didn't feel the receptionist cared that much but It didn't affect anything as it wasn't awful, just wasn't brilliant either. We went up to the room, the room looked fairly decent, kind of what you would expect, large bed, plenty of plugs and a nice TV on the wall, however it was quickly noticed that the toilet seat wasn't on properly and the bottom of the toilet door looks someone has tried to eat it in the past, these are things that I expect to be better for a hotel like this, then we attended the spa, paid our £4 per person fee, the changing facilities are open and you've just got to get your bits out I suppose, then we got into the pool, it was lovely and warm and sectioned off nicely, children and families, adults and a section for lane swimming, we really enjoyed the pool, we also really enjoyed the Jacuzzi, this was one of the main reasons for our stay, I'm disabled and the Jets really helped, steam room and sauna are as expected. Things went horribly wrong when we went to bed however, the bed is really stiff, uncomfortable and my partner awoke with swollen eyes, something that only happens when she's interacted with dogs, we feel like the room was either not cleaned properly or the bedding wasn't changed or washed properly, we barely slept all night, maybe a few hours, also any room around us that made noise sounded like someone was trying to get in, the overall experience wasn't brilliant and we won't be going again.
Clean - value for money
They did not clean my room the entire time I was there. I also had to ask and source normal materials from the front desk like extra toilet paper towels etc. These are aspects I do not expect to have to take care of when I travel.
Reception area welcoming. Staff need personality training except runaround James. Not sure buffet evening meals were our thing. Too much of a frenzy at mealtimes by patrons. Room 450 sprung a leak after 9pm 29th sept . We only realised at 1.35am by night porter it was an issue for room below. As he woke us up to see if we had perhaps left taps running. reported. Duvet to small for bed when 2 people in it. The only lift available appears to require an MOT. Did not use pool/gym to busy for us. And begrudge paying to swim when we were patrons.
Someone has bought a failing hotel and renovated it in the cheapest way possible. Honestly feels third world.
The greeting was short and un-welcoming.
Plenty of parking was a plus side.
The rooms are terrible its so old and dated and falling to bits i later found out its part of the brittania group which is known around my home area as being terrible would never stay again
Check in was my first red flag very slow staff, printers off line and just rude behaviour. I was charged one amount then another no confidence they knew what was going on.
The room was very tired and dated with mould in bathroom. Went for dinner and was told it was a buffet style, however they had sold out @7:30pm Rude staff is a feature of this hotel and the waitress said well that happens here and asked what I expected here to do about it. She then brought out some old dry ham on a plate and said the chef was cooking chicken Kiev. This arrived with 5 minutes and when cut open it was frozen in the middle. Went to complain at reception. Know one there. When they finally arrived they told me to email my complaint to customer service as not there problem. I asked to see Nick the General Manager he eventually agreed that I was due a refund and offered £12.50 for the dinner and as I was not prepared to risk breakfast a further £10. It’s a joke I was ill that night and didn’t sleep. Never offered an apology. I will report to environmental health as this was disgraceful
Had to wait 15 minutes on reception for some one to attend me and 3 others, no one was on reception when we could hear a male and female talking in back office.
I could see broken doors had been fixed but no paint over them, felt unsafe
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is looking tiered, the first room I was put in was clean but the shower head wouldn't stay on the rail, I was moved to a different room which was better.
Unfortunately though, the hotel bar area needed a good dusting and not wipe round without moving objects.
It was a nice stay
Shower head held up with a hair clip !
Spa only had steam room working, sauna out of action for last 2weeks ! Steam room drain blocked making floor hold dirty water !
Maintenance across most of property none existent!
Having checked in advance by phone that we could check in at 2pm as we had a wedding to get to, upon arrival at 13:55 we were told ALL check-ins would be at least 20 minutes wait. After a discussion we were told the room was available so we could have the key. Surely a blanket hold on all check-ins is not required if some rooms are available.
Also the room had not been cleaned properly, having found a sock and a food carton when we arrived.
Reception and housekeeping needs to up their game if the hotel wants repeat customers!
The hotel was not like it was shown on the website the room was very small the bathroom was not clean
Avoid Avoid Avoid this hotel is housing homless people. I could smell weed in the corridor and dogs barking doors slamming al night. I did complain to get a refund butvthe manager was just making excuses and wasn't interested.
Or stay on this occasion was the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel and we were disappointed.
We stayed all inclusive and initially had a very nice executive room but then a leak from bathroom ceiling transferred into living area so we had to move which left us with hard beds and different sized/feeling pillows
Facilities were at first declined and asked us to pay but after going back to reception our room card was stamped and then enter was allowed for free
Restaurant: exactly same menu as our first stay a couple of months before, not catered for children or vegetarians. Asked for a sausage to be made for my daughter as there was only fish and another meat but the chef declined to do so and desserts was one choice only with no other options. Breakfast was acceptable. So requested food package money back on this occasion
Other than this the hotel and friendliness was good and it’s a lovely visual place for weddings and birthdays but no entertainment.
We’ve had a great stay, cant fault the room pool reception, staff, will definitely recommend and will be booking again.
Room was awful, bed uncomfortable and breakfast was no where near to a basic standard
Very professional
Comfortable bed and room. Bathroom was modern looking and clean. First room we were given smelled of smoke and may have been a smoking room but we were non smokers and so we were given a new room straight away. The breakfast was lovely and there was plenty to choose from. Our main reason for selecting this was it being 15 minutes from Birmingham airport. We were able to check in at 4am after our flight and there were staff on hand at this time. It was a bonus having the pool on site which we used the next day for a £4 charge.
Dated and a bit expensive but ok for what I needed. Sadly arrived too late to make use of the facilities
