This is a beautiful resort with a great but small beach. Good location. Great service. Beautiful pools. Highly recommend.
We have been regulars here since it opened. The location, facilities and favorable west side weather make this hard to beat. So easy to get here and then just stay and enjoy. The property is beautifully maintained. Lots to do here along with a great setting for doing nothing. The lagoon beaches are unbeatable for family relaxation. I wish I could feel more love from
the resort for us as guests. Here are the speed bumps:
1) check in and check out is very transactional and cheerless. at predictably busy times the line is punishing after you’ve flown across continents and oceans to arrive for your centerpiece vacation
2) extremely high resort prices for a basic cup of coffee or a mai tai — every single detail has been over monetized and it’s exhausting to feel reminded you’re just a revenue source over and over it reminds me of disney and not in a good way
3) the incessant push to get guests into a sales presentation is the opposite of welcome the resort is set up to force you to go to the “information desk” to figure things out but the info desks are really sales desks. twice I literally just went to ask about an activities schedule or to ask directions and the rep would not give me any help until starting down the name/room number/are you scheduled for an update sales funnel. it was exhausting yes there are actual concierges but they have limited hours and are only behind one desk in one building hidden away from real traffic flow
I am happy for the success of the vacation club but feel the personal warmth and welcome has been lost in the machine.
We stayed here for four nights at the end of January/beginning of February and were pleasantly surprised! We’re not MVC members so we were bombarded with the usual appeals to attend a presentation. We declined and still enjoyed our stay! The best features are the Longboard’s restaurant (excellent food and large portions …got at least 4 different food items on different days and they were all good), the lagoon (deep enough and large enough to actually swim), and the beds (very comfortable). General negatives are the dated look of the room furniture and average experience with the beach set up…you pay $45/day for an umbrella and chairs and don’t get additional towels—you just pick up your own towels at another hut using your card. It’s not terrible but definitely subpar compared to other resorts.
Mostly our experience with staff was very positive, especially the baristas at the Marketplace and Longboard’s servers.
It is clean
Room keys did not work for half a day. Not very good restaurants on the site.
We love the Ko Olina area and have stayed at the other two resorts. Our experience at the Marriott Beach Club was really disappointing. I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for well over 20 years and have been in the Platinum tier for a few years and stayed at some of their most luxurious and beautiful properties around the world. This property is well below the Fairfield Inn tier.
The rooms are outdated and have nasty carpets. Also, the housekeeping service is not what you would expect at a regular hotel under the Marriott family of brands. They only provide a "daily tidy" service which is a joke. They do not vacuum the room or clean the countertops or change the sheets. They simply make the bed and replenish the towels. Only two people clean and service an entire tower with 16 floors. Our room was not serviced the first day and after complaining they gave us a time slot and then came earlier than expected and made us feel like it was our fault. We did speak to the housekeeping supervisor and on the last day they did a "full cleaning" which is what I expected we were paying for from day one of our stay.
The property location is great but the rooms and service leave a lot to be desired. The pools are horribly overcrowded even in off-season months. Onsite restaurants are average and I didn't expect much from them anyway.
Ko Olina has beautiful, man-made lagoons and are really safe and enjoyable. The Marriott provides overpriced cabana or lounge chairs umbrellas for an extra fee which is not worth the price. We were offered a free cabana rental for our housekeeping experience which we declined because it was not a serious offer to make things right.
Overall, this resort does not offer the value for what they charge. We paid more for a room at this property than what we did for the newly renovated Sheraton Waikiki but got less than 10% of the service or value. My recommendation is to save your money and stay at the Four Seasons which is worth every penny. We will never come back to the Marriott Beach Club and will actively discourage all our friends from staying here.
This is our 3rd time at Ko Olina (over 15 years) this is a beautiful property! Rooms are great, staff was great, property is beautiful and immaculate. My kids love the activities (especially water slide races and bingo). Food was fine, expected more for the price, but many options nearby, this is a wonderful place for easy relaxing luxury vacation!
Beautiful location and very well maintained.
No real area to be on the beach on the ocean. Just at the lagoon that often had lots of seaweed or something floating on top. Best pool area was also closed 5 of the 9 nights we stayed there .
Ocean front view. Good beds. Kids loved the pool.
The check in process is always long and drawn out. I hate it. It seems you could be a great deal more efficient and consolidate the procedures. Then a day later we get a call to come get discount coupons at a welcome desk. We skipped it. Just include it all at check in!!!
We typically stay at a hotel on Oahu but decided to try something different and stay at one of these villas. We own one of these that’s a Westin so I guess I expected something a bit nicer. Marriott is not Westin level. They THINK they are, but they’re not.
Anyway, this resort is a 3 star. The grounds are beautiful and the food is pretty decent. The rooms are 3 star. They’re shabby and not the most up to date or comfortable. I definitely thought it would be nicer for the price! But what you’re paying for is space I guess? Wouldn’t stay here again. I think our usual hotel is much nicer and the cost probably works out the same - even for two rooms.
This hotel is worth the visit alone for the gardens and ocean walk. So very beautiful. The rooms are nicely appointed and have special kitchen equipment different than other beach club rooms such as tea sets and rice cookers. Rooms have recently been renovated and redecorated, Less tropical more modern and stream lined.
Pools are great for the water exercise class they offer and a high point. The new fitness instructors are a big step up!! But nothing beats swimming in the lagoon! With the new sunscreen laws they have cleaned up and have active sea life.
If atmosphere matters this is the place for you beauty abounds along with the aloha spirit.
This has become our home away from home as it’s an amazing hotel and resort. It’s situated on the west side of Oahu and considering the resorts in the area, it’s still quiet and relaxing. The man made cove is beautiful and the water is very comfortable. There are 3 pools with one having a slide, another is an adult quiet pool and the other has a little area at one end for little tots including some water park. There are plenty of BBQ’s available for all of the buildings, with a Marketplace downstairs and an ABC store about a 10 min walk away. Two restaurants onsite and numerous other restaurants 10 mins walk away. There are Cabanas and Umbrellas with loungers available to rent on the beach and the beach staff are fantastic, ensuring you have what you need for a great day. All of the staff throughout the property greet you with a “Aloha” and a smile. They treat you like your “Ohana”.All of the units (except the studios) have full kitchens and washer and dryers. For the studios they have a microwave and mini fridge and access to washer and dryers on several floors in the building. The gym is open 24hrs and there is a spa on site. on Tuesday evenings there is a Fia Fia Luau and throughout each day there are activities for everyone to partake in. This is definitely an amazing Family Resort. Cant wait for our next visit in February…Mahlon
Beautiful property. Tremendous location. It’s a wonderful wonderful place to spend time as a family. We planned so many activities through the concierge - both on site and off site. We enjoyed the proximity to the other nearby resorts and the restaurants in the shopping village where you can easily walk. Also close to the wonderful Ko Olina golf course. We had a two bedroom oceanfront and at first I was concerned about noise because it was near the kids pool but even that was just fine. We rented beach chairs every day and the process was simple and reasonable. A great trip and we can’t wait to go again in 2027!
Rooms: very dated, bar counter bigger than bathroom counter (??) room description said marina/harbor view…..in reality that view was only 25% of what you could see, the rest of the view was a desert wasteland and construction cranes. Also, when out walking around, all you can smell is chlorine from the pools and water features. I dislike how people run down to the quiet pools to save lounges, and yes, they have the pool overseerers, but that doesn’t help at 8:00 and all lounges are taken. The full pot coffee makers and ground coffee packets in the room are great.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆
We enjoyed our stay at Marriott’s Ko‘Olina Beach Club! The resort is stunning — the lagoons are absolutely beautiful, calm, and perfect for swimming or just relaxing by the water. The whole property is clean, peaceful, and feels like a little slice of paradise.
The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home. There’s plenty to do around the resort, or you can just unwind and take in the amazing views and sunsets.
The only thing that could be better was the room — it was a bit small and felt a little outdated compared to the rest of the resort. Still, it was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. The location and lagoons alone make it worth it! 🌺🌴
The Marriott has everything you need for the perfect family vacation! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The pools are nice and big! The lagoon is clean and perfect for kids or adults who want to enjoy the beach without waves! Highly recommend.
Beautiful resort and ocean if you can enjoy it. Pools and grounds are sooo crowded with locals and ALL their extended families and friends. I understand the employee and family and friends benefit but this is ridiculous! I can literally walk on their heads in the pool to reach the other side. Not fair to owner’s paying 10 times the amount for our stays!
Nice resort, could be better.
As elite Marriott vacation club members, we had certain high expectations. We were given a low floor suite overlooking the employee parking lot. The employees come to work very early and the lot is gravel so it is very noisy starting around 6:00 AM. Also all of the landscapers come by this area from early morning until noon. No sleeping in,!.
We had issues with the restaurants as well. The pool bar 'longboards' had a big football promo for 7:00 AM Sunday morning. No one could tell us what games would be on. We show up and get told there would be one TV showing the Rams game. That was disappointing, but would have been ok if the info had been shared when we asked. We were told to drive to Chili's if we wanted to watch the game. Also the upscale restaurant was equally disappointing, so so good, very high prices and a load of attitude. Marriott owners get a 10% discount on property, but not at the most expensive restaurant on site.
Beautiful place , crappy service and communication. Marriott could do way better.
