Parador Villas Sotomayor

The place pictured went under. The business moved across the street. We were told they had the same amenities and the staff was very nice but the picture and description I held in my hand had nothing in common. What I paid for and was excited to experience was not what we were offered. The picture should not still be posted!

Great place to Rest

I went on Feb 2024 as a family trip. The facilities are in horrible conditions. The rooms are not clean, the bathroom are nasty , there’s no proper cleaning nor lighting in the rooms. The closet doors are broken and also the windows. The curtains for privacy is peeling off, the setting of the room make it difficult to walk. You cant walk at night, there’s no lights. I have to use my cell phone flashlight to see, that is dangerous and scary. Also not safe. They have a deck in the back where the hammocks are and the wood is rotting away, you don’t even dare to step on it. Not enough staff. Frankly is horrible!

Since I was a little girl, I wanted to stay in this place, it was like a dream I had. As an adult I saved money, made a budget and planned to take my kids where I used to go with my father. I went online contact directly the parador and I booked and paid my deposit over the phone. My flight got delayed on 3/1/24(my day of arrival) by AA the same day and I called immediately, keep them posted about the situation, I let them know I was arriving Sunday 3/3/24, due the airline didn't have available flights. The day I checked out I notice they charged me the two nights I missed due my flight delay, for a total of $351.92. The administrator said that she mentioned to me but with the stress at the airport I don't remember she mention they will keep that $ she said on Sunday 3/10 that by politics I had to let them know 14 days in advance for a cancelation. I never canceled, we stayed, and we paid the total amount due. We paid a total of $1,583.64 for 10 days, when it was supposed to be 8 nights (3/3-10/24). Never received an email with a confirmation. In the printed letter she gave me the day of my check out it mentions only cancelation not CHANGES. Despite the room was smelly, dirty, mattresses and pillows stinks and stained, the living room area from the villa was terrible, the sofa bed is old, smelly and uncomfortable(I had to ask for an extra mattress to place on top for my son and daughter be comfortable), the pool area didn't had any decent chairs to sit and the breakfast food(which we paid in our fee) was very basic we stayed and tried to maximize our vacation. As Puerto Rican I am sad, disappointed these people steeled our money, the service wasn't the best, the road to the villas is full of potholes, and the list goes on... I asked a contact for the parador owner, and she gave me an email, which I am pretty sure the administrator have access to. I filed a complaint with DACO in PR for misinterpreting a contract where it only says a CANCELATION POLICY no changes included. Flight delays happens, is out of our control, it's unfair these people keep our money. Many of us traveling to PR make so many sacrifices to be one week in a paradise that turns out to end in a hell vacation thanks to people like these. NEVER STAY IN THIS PLACE!!! these people don't invest money in this property, their villas are dirty, smelly, they don't clean around the parador and unfortunately the administrator is rude and have cero empathy towards tourists that come from far in PR or US, they care just about you paying them the money and careless about your opinion as a customer. By the way that picture in this page is showing chairs that I never saw or sit. Their website is a huge lie it shows you a 5-star place when in reality they quality is below 0. As a business owner I dislike making reviews like these, but they earned and unfortunately, I had to share my experience, that way other consumers don't experience the same thing. Please AGAIN DON'T BOOK YOUR STAY WITH PARADOR VILLAS DE SOTOMAYOR!!! This place is nothing like it used to be, it's sad and pathetic!

Basic accommodations with limited staff. Town and nearby attractions are great.

Great place to disconnect from everything. The property is well kept. The rooms need some upgrades done. The staff is great.

Areas verdes amplias y bien cuidadas. Escacez de empleados en el restaurante para el desayuno pero el que había fueron muy atentos e hicieron su mejor esfuerzo. Las habitaciones necesitan un poco mas de mantenimiento, mejor limpieza , las losas del baño algunas rotas y otros detalles.

The area is amazing. Some of the staff (i.e. Luz) were amazing and other seems to just walk through the motions. Overall, the place is great but it is a bit dated. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Needs maintenance overall

This property was dirty and unkempt, the staff was unhelpful and unapologetic. The room was dirty, the a/c had mold, the paint was peeling off the wall. We had to buy our own toiletries, even the basic ones like hand and body soap. Nothing was done to resolve the matter. We had to leave and they refused to give us a refund. This place is not suitable to host anyone who expects basic cleanliness.

Our “Villa” was not clean, dead bugs on floors, toilet ring, needs a good deep cleaning. Staff pleasant , surrounding area is beautiful in the mountains. Sunday breakfast was buffet, and not very good. Monday breakfast made to order and good

El cuarto que esta en la foto de la compra no es la correcta.el cuarto es muy chiquito. 2 no hay planchas 3. El baño esta sucio el aguas sale fria con poca presion de aguas. El aire acondicionado no fusionan correctamente y estaba sucio.

Esta bien comoda

I have visited Parador two times before and was satisfied with visit. But this stay was horrible. Nowhere to put your luggage. Other than a glass high top and two minuscule end tables, no place to put clothes. And when I say nowhere, the closet had no bar, and no shelves. Empty. Room was dark, had to use my phone light to read. Last day, no hot water. Only bath towels provided, no wash cloths or hand towels. The staff were friendly and even though they took my complaints, it seemed they couldn’t do anything about it. Good free breakfast and La Terraza nearby. $200 is ridiculous for this place. Don’t come here.

Good place but truly not 5 star… the place is a business operation and it feels like it.. your personal comforts, enjoyment like secondary… I would try another place more friendly next time…

This place isn't what it appears to be at all. The pictures that they post on website isn't what it actually is. The rooms are so outdated!! The 2 rooms they were assigned to us were disgusting. Rooms stunk like urine. It smelled horribly. Furniture all ripped up. Walls all peeled. Microwave rusty. The sofa I didn't even want to sit on on how filthy it looked. Bed sheets were all stained and mattress all yellow. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And we were here for a wedding. I can't believe how this place will have guests staying in rooms in those conditions. Never ever again will I stay here or let anyone even consider staying here. These people should be ashamed of themselves booking rooms in those room conditions. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting.

Humbleness!!!! I loved the the humbleness of ALL THE STAFF!!!! Not one set back during my 9 night stay there!!! EVERYONE was just so humble and it was not an act…. That’s just how Adjúntenos are! My wife and I will DEFINITELY stay there again… we actually can’t wait to go back!!! Thank you Villas for a GREAT experience

El parador es espectacular, sus paiajes y todas las area verdes estan bien acondicionadas, tiene una piscina hermosa, al frente tiene un rio espectacular, sus aguas super cristalinas. tiene area de columpios, cancha de baloncesco y voleiball arena, tiene una hermosa terraza pub con vista al rio, paseos a caballos, tienen una mini granja de conejos, nemú, gansos, pony, burro y hasta un venado. Tienen area para acampar espectacular con failidades de baños y duchas limpias. Las villas son sencillas, limpias y prácticas. El restaurante muy bueno y su personal super amable. Y aceptan mascotas y perros de servicio, el ambiente muy apto para ellos.
Cosas que pudieran mejorar, iluminacion solar para los caminos o veredas, el mattre del sofa cama, en la villa necesitan cambio urgente no esta apto para utilizarlo. por lo demas, todo espectacular.
