The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were large, spacious and felt luxurious, and the location was excellent for exploring New Orleans.
Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by repeated issues regarding breakfast, which was clearly included when I booked through Booking.com.
On our first morning, we were told we needed to pay for breakfast. When we queried this at reception, the staff initially insisted that the “breakfast included” referred to a 20% discount, seemingly confusing it with my 20% Genius discount from Booking.com. A manager, Amanda Abbott, then came over, confirmed that breakfast was included in our booking, and left. The restaurant staff were then told that we could use the buffet each morning and simply note our room number on the bill, which we did every day.
However, when we checked out, we were once again told that we owed money for breakfast. This was with the same receptionist, Hannah, who we had spoken to on the first morning. She claimed that our booking only included a credit towards breakfast rather than full breakfast, despite the manager having previously confirmed that it was fully included. When we explained this and said we wanted to resolve the issue before leaving, Hannah even threatened to call security, which was incredibly upsetting given that we were simply trying to clarify a mistake that wasn’t ours.
I ended up contacting booking.com directly who were prepared to contact the hotel directly. magically At that point, Amanda Abbott came back, reviewed the booking again, and eventually confirmed that breakfast was indeed fully included. She mentioned that she had initially only seen a breakfast credit from Booking.com before finding the correct booking details.
While the issue was eventually resolved, it took almost an hour at check-out, in addition to the time we spent dealing with it on our first morning. It caused unnecessary stress, delayed our holiday plans, and left us feeling as though we were repeatedly being asked to pay charges that we simply didn’t owe.
Zat muis in restaurant tijdens ontbijt
The hotel itself is very high class, the room was exactly as in the picture in booking.com - super nice!
Breakfast is great, service is also very good.
Location - super!
The staff is not aware of fees and duties for rooms booked through booking.com
Upon arrival they claimed I am going to need to pay additional $30 per day, + tax for what they call “destination fee”, which was quite a surprise (and not a good one). I told them that I booked through booking.com and this was not mentioned anywhere, however, that did not help...
Eventually they did not charge me that amount, as I booked using booking.com however this is quite unsettling.
I also need to mention that I booked a room with the "breakfast included" option but to my surprise I still needed to pay extra. It seems (I was told at the desk) that you get credit for 21$ per day however breakfast does cost more than that and if you want coffee there is an additional charge(!) and there are also additional taxes. To be fair, the extra charge is not so high, but I did wind up paying about 15$ per day additional for 2 guests. They sent me the invoice through mail, but it only says "charge" per day and there is no description of exactly what I was charged for. I have sent them a reply requesting more info as to what they charged me for, however, 6 days after I left, there is still no reply. This behavior is not on par with the overall high level of this hotel.

( breakfast)I especially enjoyed the food and the wide variety of options available. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and there was plenty to choose from. The abundance and quality of the offerings made dining one of the highlights of my stay.
The hotel's location was excellent and one of the highlights of my stay. It was convenient, close to local attractions, restaurants, and transportation, making it easy to get around.
However, the check-in process was disappointing. It was slower than expected and lacked efficiency, which made for a less welcoming arrival experience. Streamlining the check-in process and improving communication with guests would greatly enhance the overall experience.
The location is extremely convenient to the cruise port. We used Uber and Lyft to get around, and it was a great location and only about 25 minutes from the airport. It was safe with an extra safety measure for the elevators. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The staff was exceptional and so friendly. The restaurant was nothing grand as far as the breakfast menu, but it was fine. We were able to check in early due to an available room, and that was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.
There was nothing we did not like.
Very clean and nice
