Nice room.
Very poor restaurant offering. 2 restaurants closed, had to eat in a bar with a snooker table in play, bunch of very loud Welsh workmen shouting to each other. Very limited menumy food wasn't hot enough, bar man debated with and told me the plate was hot, food wasn't hot enough. Barman seemed stressed, was surly, demonstrated very poor customer relations skills. Restaurant offering really let this hotel down, big disappointment, not at all what I had expected.

NICE AND WARM WHEN WE STAYED AS IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE AND A GOOD SHOWER
Trying to find stations that you can watch on the TV not easy to navigate.
Room was pleasant, bed comfortable and bedding warm enough, although did seem thin and I was concerned about it. Water pressure in shower and taps was very good.
No control of room temperature/instructions to use the heater. Room was very chilly on entry [hence concern bedding looked thin]. Kettle looked dirty: did not use.
I love this property, all the staff are amazing and the place is spotless. Amazing value for money and the only hotel I will stay in up that end - proper home from home feeling

While the initial impression of the building and the main reception area was aesthetically pleasing and welcoming, the overall experience unfortunately deteriorated thereafter.
The accommodations provided were unsatisfactory, and the service was subpar. Despite being informed of an upgrade upon arrival, the quality of the room led us to question the standard of the original booking. Specifically, the wardrobe door was malfunctioning, restricting access to half of the storage space. The curtains were also defective, preventing a complete closure.
Our room's ground-floor location adjacent to the car park compromised privacy, as individuals accessing their vehicles had direct visibility into our room. Furthermore, essential amenities were lacking, including the absence of white sugar, limited electrical outlets, a noticeable imperfection in the headboard, and a non-functional light switch in the tea and coffee preparation area. Had it not been for the purported "upgrade," we can only surmise the condition of our assigned room.
Attempts to provide feedback on maintenance issues were hindered by the absence of writing instruments, both in the room and at the reception desk, which appeared unstaffed. Finally, the bed provided an exceptionally uncomfortable sleeping experience, akin to resting on a concrete surface.

It was very tired bathroom had no complimentary soap or shampoo.
But the wall was very thin and we could hear all the nightly activities next door!!!!
The hot tub
Shower leaking causing dripping onto bathroom floor, shower itself was dirty/rust, sink taps when on full just pour over the sink, pillows where dirty, only x2 sockets in room, no bedside lights work and no cash on site but you need cash for vending machines and pool table/ game’s machines, internet wasn’t super fast, staff where quite rude and blank!
