Room
No mini bar in the room anymore, losing its status quickly for me now with the clear cost reductions happening, only 4 pillows on the bed instead of 6, minimal towels in bathroom……
The Langham was a wonderful experience. The staff, the room, the bar were especially enjoyable. The people who work here go the extra mile to make you feel special and cared for.
Elegant, comfortable and stylish in a great location
Nothing
Stayed for our anniversary for 3 nights and proposed on the second day - Every single moment was unforgettable and we'll definitely visit again as we have special memories tied to this location now
We had a nice view over the harbour. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
More pillows
More drawers
The room felt quite dated
I want to rate lower but it feels cruel. The significant delays on both Saturday and Sunday for the breakfast service had a significant negative impact on us and our planned activities. I was also disappointed the membership benefits are not available at the restaurants/dining facilities. This felt like a missed opportunity (and misleading). The AC minimum should also be lower than 19 degrees.
I'd only recommend staying here during the cooler months and definitely don't bother with breakfast here.
A very glamorous experience with a warm ease and appeal. Stunning Hotel set in an historic Harbourside setting. The warm personal attention here, is always the most outstanding factor for us. I stayed again, with my toy poodle who is always treated like 'part of the family'. Very special indeed !
Excellent experience every time at the Langham Kent Street. An absolute pleasure to stay or visit. I stayed with my toy poodle and he never wants to leave !
Lovely location, quiet…may be a gem if the get their restaurant open. It was closed during our visit which led to disappointing breakfast experience.
We have stayed at this beautiful Hotel on a number of occasions, the most recent being in September 2025. We have always been happy with everything but things were different this time. We were assigned room 114. We had been in this room on our previous visit and it is next to the staff lift and we could hear the lift constantly going up and down with staff usage and it was noisy. On that occasion we were moved from the room. As we approached our room on this visit we knew immediately that this was the same room as before. We didn't even enter the room but went straight back to reception with the Concierge following. We were assigned another room, 131. As we entered the room with the Concierge some distance behind we noticed someone else's luggage placed in the room. We immediately retreated and shut the door with the Concierge wondering what was happening this time. I also noticed he was not wheeling our clothing but someone else's. Back to reception where we were told that the luggage in the room had been placed there in error and it would be removed and we could go back to the room.
The Bar experience on our first night was a disaster. We had intended having a drink and dinner but that didn't happen. The Bar had been taken over by a large tour group and we managed to get a table where people had just left. We were left with dirty glasses and plates and the barman wasn't very observant and seemed to think they were ours. When we asked him to clear the table he seemed bewildered. We told him the table contents weren't not ours and that we would like to order a drink. He were given a drink list and were left waiting. When we finally caught his attention again he told us they were run off their feet and he would get to us. That didn't happen and after a long wait we decided to go elsewhere.
Now, onto our breakfast experience, what a dreadful one that was. We knew in advance via email that the breakfast room was being renovated and we would be in the Ballroom instead but we weren't prepared for what was to come. Total disorganisation from all the staff. No one knew where they were to deliver food or coffee and walked around asking people if they were waiting on a particular order. There appeared to be a lot of staff with no one knowing what they were supposed to do. The choice of food was very limited and not of a good standard. People were left waiting for a long time for their coffee and some were walking away before receiving it as they didn't wish to wait any longer. People were getting wrong orders or not getting them at all. There were a lot of tourists staying in the hotel, not just the large tour group, and I am sure they would have been quite appalled at the cattle yard type of feel that was present. If this was a first experience of the hotel for guests, it would be one that would turn them off. It certainly would have made me not want to return. Table numbers would have been appropriate to alleviate the problem of waiters not knowing which table to go to.
Another disappointment for us was that a few days prior to our visit we were sent an email asking whether we needed valet parking and whether there was a special occasion for our visit. Yes, it was a birthday treat for me. There was no acknowledgement of it so what was the point of asking. On another prior stay in April last year it was our wedding anniversary and our bed was covered in pink rose petals in the shape of a love heart and we given sweet treats, fruit and beautiful bottled water which came as a lovely surprise. Nothing this time. I saw no such trolley being wheeled around at any time as we had seen on the previous occasion.
I had also mentioned that we would love a room overlooking Kent Street. Our email was totally ignored on all levels.
My advice is, please don't drop all the nice little touches that make this hotel special. The hotel is a go to place for my husband and I when we want short breaks during the year. We would love that to continue.
We generally love Langham hotels/ service - but this visit was not ideal - despite paying premium prices on a prime weekend the property did not have a proper dining room or breakfast room due to renovations. there was no prior notice, no apology and no compensation which would be expected. It's a small hotel so the renovation is visible from the lobby and on day 1 the breakfast was offered in a ballroom ( bad atmosphere) and an day 2 was put in the middle of the lobby to accommodate delivery of supplies for a wedding in the ballroom. Not a Langham 5 star experience/ should have been handled far better - it was almost like they hoped guests wouldn't notice but given size of property and lack of expected dining - everyone noticed.

Excellent location! Beautiful hotel, with welcoming staff.
Cleaning could’ve been a little better, but still an enjoyable experience.
Amazing!! Our room and all the facilities were perfect, well maintained and top quality. The stand out was the team, everyone from the moment we got out of the car to when we checked out were amazing to deal with, nothing was a problem, everyone went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay. I cant wait to go back and stay again.
