Last but not least, from my understanding there is designated water that’s free, then I got charged
Cons:

The front desk concierge said that due to how I book the room that I couldn’t include my Hilton Honor points! Was not happy regarding that

Broken AC unit
Pros:

Great location, easy access, great room size, great view.

Cons:

The air conditioning did not work, it only dispensed very hot air, no cool air. It was a very hot, uncomfortable night.

Also, very expensive parking fee.

Pros:

The room was very clean and comfortable. Just perfect.

Cons:

The food. Just bad, not worth. Especially when there multiple nice restaurants around the corner.

Espresso machine was also broken, so they couldn’t even serve a proper espresso in the morning

True hospitality!
Pros:

What a fantastic stay! I am a team member who really takes notice of customer service and stay experience, and I have to say I have never felt so welcomed to a hotel! Jeffrey, the front desk supervisor, was so kind to me and my Dad, even striking up a conversation about hockey with us. We were in town for our first Sharks game, we are diehard fans so this trip was very exciting, and our stay made it even more enjoyable. The rooms were big and well-updated, the lobby was modern and easy to navigate, and the Secco restaurant was beautiful! In the restaurant, Leo and Nancy made our breakfast fun and memorable, with such positive attitudes and wonderful smiles. Our food was great too. All around, we had an amazing time, and we will be back next hockey season! Go Sharks go!

Cold showers. 100F
Pros:

This hotel has an attentive staff and a decent restaurant. The rooms are average to above average in cleanliness. Rooms are dated but with the convention center next door they probably don’t “need” to update. Lobby and public areas are more updated than the rooms. I have stayed here about 6-9 times in the last few months.
Beware however the water temperature and environmental cooling. Every trip has been marred by a less than hot shower. Finally on my last trip I called the desk and they sent up a maintenance engineer. He carried a thermostat. At the tap, on full hot, my shower was at 99.6 and my faucet at 100.1. For reference generally you want to see 120-140. When he sheepishly said it was ok I asked him what guidance he was provided for acceptable temp. He rolled his eyes and said the hotel tells us 100 is standard. So think that thru. The standard is 1 degree above your natural body temperature. The showers are tolerable but not enjoyable and I have asked my company to reconsider the continued use of this property. informal polling of coworkers resulted in them all in agreement that the showers were not very pleasant and the rooms not very cool during the day. I can only assume that with the aircon that never seems to get cold enough and the water that never gets hot enough that this is intentional by the property manager. I can understand and am willing to accept some limitations for energy savings but the cool showers are a deal breaker.

Worst Hotel Ever! No seriously.
Pros:

I can say, without hyperbole, the Hilton San Jose, is the most soulless, devoid of the spirit of hospitality hotel on earth. The staff revels in going out of their way to disappoint their guests and ensuring a good time is had by none. I stayed there during March Madness and the lobby bar doesn’t open until 3pm, and when they finally did, I stood patiently for 47 minutes waiting to order my drink. In my 48th minute, after still not being acknowledged, I gave up. I was never smiled at, looked at, spoken to, at 245 pounds I finally achieved invisibility!! Pretty incredible.

Unfortunately my experience was repeated each day I stayed there, never improving.

So, if you are looking to stay in a place where the staff treats you like garbage, please consider the Hilton. If you like being treated poorly and feeling like you are lesser, this is the place for you!!

The pillows are soft though.
