The view was nice. The room was large enough. Cambria is a beautiful area but don't forget to check out the little towns around it, Cayucos and San Simeon. Moonstone Beach has a lovely boardwalkway. The area is pet friendly but you need a leash. Cayucos has wonderful pier to walk on. Lots of cute shops, and restaurants.
No AC or even a ceiling fan, It can get hot even at the beach ..The chairs were uncomfortable. Parking wasn't terrible but not great either, especially when other guests take two spots because of their lack of courtesy. The bathroom hand soap and lotion smelled old. The shampoo and body wash were fine. The showers need hand held fixtures. No information in the rooms at all for dining or things to do in the area. The room was clean but the common areas needed dusting and sweeping. The Internet was terrible, I think you can pay $14.99 a day for upgraded Internet service. phone service in the area isn't the best.
What a gem! Didn’t expect to find such a fantastic place late at night after a long drive. The staff were super helpful and friendly (reception was still open at 10pm when other places were closed.) The room was massive and had a fireplace. I assume it has been recently renovated - the quality was very high standard and unlike other establishments that choose the cheapest and quickest options, they obviously invested thought, time and money to do it up properly. The bed and linen were as good as or far superior to some 5 star places we’ve stayed in - the pillows were so luxurious I’m going to source them for home! We fell asleep to the sound of waves on Moonstone Beach and in the morning we had a quick dip in the sea and a warm up in the hotel’s hot tube/spa. The cake and cookies at breakfast were delicious and homemade, not commercial rubbish that so many places give you. The gardens are beautiful and expertly maintained. All the staff were fantastic and very well trained as you might expect in a top notch hotel in London. Cambria is a darling town and much better than the overrated Carmel. All in all, a very memorable stay, even though we arrived late, and I’ve already recommended this place to friends. We really appreciated the location, the quality of accommodation, the leadership team/owners and the staff. Thank you for a fantastic stay and I’d make it a must stop next time we are in the area.
It was all absolutely perfect and high standard.
Perfect location. Great value. A little piece of heaven.
Don't call it 'Free Breakfast' when it's only coffee and a few pastries. It really is misleading. Especially for European travelers.
Amazing location, very comfortable room.
Location was great, staff was very prompt and helpful. The room was nice as well.
Parking was an issue, we ended up parking down the street one of the two nights we were there because there were no available spots in any of the parking lots. We also had to ask for hand soap for the bathroom as there was none. Two of the three times we went to get coffee/hot water for tea, they were out.
Landscape and location
Furniture smelled old and dirty. Mold and mildew growing in soap holder in tub and railing on sliding glass door was filthy.
The closeness to boardwalk and an easy drive to town.
The parking was tight
The location, the staff and the room were great. Walking distance to really good restaurants. A great walkway down the coast right across from the Inn.
Highly recommended or I wouldn’t have taken the time to write this.
We’ll definitely be back.
Very friendly staff, nice fireplace, very close to the sea
Close to a loud road, like probably most hotels of this area
Beautiful room, loved the fact that it had a separate area with a couch and a chair. Very spacious. Bed was so comfy that I hated to get up in the morning.
My only complaint is that we a had a ground floor room with a nice patio, and the people above us were quite noisy. Next visit I will request a second story room. They did offer to change our room but we declined because we had already unpacked.
Pelican Inn was the perfect hotel, the location is unbelievable, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The hotel is extremely well taken care of, both inside and out. I loved how clean and maintained the hotel is.
The staff were beyond helpful and extremely friendly! I would highly recommend.
Great view, quiet, Location easy to drive to and adventure from. Good size room.
Enough space to set up 2 luggage rack and open. Nice and simple decorations. Plenty of lights.
I would have rated hotel excellent except for the furniture in sitting area. Sofa so saggy and uncomfortable. Two side chairs very stiff and small as well as not comfortable. A coffee table would have been handy
Great location, nice hot tub. Helpful recommendations from the staff.
On checking in had a slightly awkward exchange with the receptionist who assumed we’d incorrectly booked a double bed and asked if we wanted a twin room instead. Although well intentioned as a gay traveler/couple this does make you feel a little on edge.
The room was nice however cleaning was poor - there appeared to be pet food on the floor and some areas of the floor were damaged.
Location. Our room had a patio that looked out on to ocean which was across the street. The patio furniture could be a bit more updated. The king bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was outdated and the tub had a ring around it and mold. When we checked in the closet doors were off the rails as was the sliding screen door to patio. The maintenance guy was very nice but it took him an hour of our time to fix it. Beware there is a $5 charge for the lovely water bottles beckoning you. My husband can't read small print and drank away thinking they were complimentary. There was no breakfast but coffee/ tea available and pound cake that was gone by 8 am!
Friendly service, clean room with extremely comfortable bed. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Great location, helpful staff, clean rooms. Who could ask for more?
The location and staff at your hotel are truly exceptional! From making the reservation through checking out when we were ready to leave, the entire experience was seamless and so very positive. We were particularly pleased with being able to bring our dog as he was a bit over the weight limitation, that bit of personalized service meant so much to us!!!
Moonstone beach access and the amazing sunsets we viewed from our balcony, combined with the beautiful, clean and comfy room made this one of our favorite getaways!!! We will definitely be back...and we encourage anyone who loves the central coast of CA to stay at the Pelican Inn & Suites!!!
Very Clean, friendly staff and comfortable bed. Beautiful view
The view, comfort and friendliness of staff
The staff was great. The scenery was beautiful and so was the motel, but the room had no AC and it was extremely hot. I never thought in a million years that I would have to find out if there was going to be an AC. 99.9% of all the motels I've ever booked have ACS. I had to sleep with the ceiling fan over me and a floor fan that they gave me. They were supposed to fix the other ceiling fan but they never came to do it. We were so hot and it was so humid. I'm not great with sleeping under a fan at night because I get sick. Well I woke up sick and the rest of my trip was ruined. I had another Suite that I had booked but I canceled it because this one looked better. The other sweet that I had booked had an AC but this one didn't.
