Felt unsafe and not welcome by staff

Cons:

The location was not great, dirty and smelly and felt unsafe for a women travelling alone. The staff unfortunately were not very welcoming, my friend who arrived a day later due to a missed flight and could only check in at 3am in the morning was woken at 3:30am with someone trying to get into her room and then at 8am on the same morning the reception banging on her door saying she wasn’t on the system but they had checked her in at 3am and she had booked a month early on booking.com she was very shaken with the whole incident after missing her flight and then being treated like this in the early hours of the morning and being a lady over 60 was quite unsettling for both of us. My room was clean and comfortable and the shower was great but other than that I have not much else to recommend it

NEVER AGAIN !!
Pros:

Good location to access tourist hotspots if you don't have mobility problems.
Clean quiet and comfy room.
Clean well kept hotel.

Cons:

Too hilly narrow cobbled pavements, not suitable for people with mobility issues.
A particular receptionist was extremely unprofessional and dismissive when trying to resolve any issues I raised. He also didn't liaise with his handover receptionist any issues that I raised. His facial expression and lack of action showed that he wasn't interested in resolving any issues that I raised. The so called restaurant is across the way with three steep marbled steps, not suitable for people with mobility issues. Most of the time the TV didn't work. Infact on one particular day the pictures on screen were upside down..how bizarre. I could go into more of what I didn't like but have decided to try and forget about that nightmare and move on.

Cleaning was good and room was spacious.

Cons:

Location is way down the hills. Although Google map shows a few minutes walk to the sultanahmet but it's not correct actually. You have to go through a lot of steeps and hills to reach there and if you have luggage with you then you cannot even reach there. Even Taxi drivers refuse to go there. The hotel Location is not good, it's located in a very narrow street and hilly area.

No me gustó nada, nos dieron una habitación llena de humedades , no limpiaban. Al día ni si quieran hacían bien las camas un desastre

Es como un hotel en ruinas, está como en obras , no se puede ni caminar por los pasillos de las de cosas que hay , es todo súper estrecho , no limpian es horrible no volveré nunca

Overall, I had a mixed experience at Constantinopolis Hotel. The location and price are good, and the room provides the basic facilities you need, but there were some significant inconveniences during my stay.

👍 Good sides

* The hotel is in a convenient location, around 10–12 minutes’ walk from the Blue Mosque, just behind the mosque.
* The room was cozy and had the basic facilities needed for a short stay.
* The room had an attached bathroom, TV, bath soap, and other basic amenities.
* The price was reasonable considering the location.
* There is a large locker at the reception, where I was able to keep some of my belongings safely.

👎 Things that could be improved

* There was no electricity for around 7–8 hours during my stay. I had to use my mobile phone flashlight to do basic things, and I couldn’t charge my phone.
* Because of the power outage, I had to take my charger somewhere else to charge my phone, and unfortunately, I lost the charger.
* What disappointed me most was the lack of communication and apology from the staff regarding the electricity problem. The staff seemed quite moody, and I didn’t feel that the inconvenience was properly acknowledged. It was Friday, and I was preparing for Jummah prayer, so the lack of electricity made things particularly difficult for me.
* There was major construction work directly in front of the hotel. I don’t remember seeing any information about this during the booking process. I have attached a photo showing the construction.
* The hotel is located down a fairly steep and uneven road. This can be difficult if you are travelling with children, elderly family members, or heavy luggage. Pulling luggage along the bumpy road was quite challenging.

Overall: The hotel has a good location, reasonable pricing, and the basic facilities are there.
