Hotel La Fortezza

Très bon accueil, souriant et serviable. Très belle chambre rénovée. Literie très confortable, belle salle de bains. Possibilité de parking en dehors de la ZTL. Nous avons apprécié recevoir des recommandations de lieux pour dîner aux alentours, puisqu'il n'y a pas de restaurant dans l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner très varié, aux produits frais de qualité. Situation géographique à 15 min à pied du nord du centre historique. Nous avons été ravis de notre séjour.

It was a very clean and modern hotel. The stay was fine. It was a nice hotel. It’s not ideal for maneuvering with a stroller as every time you enter you have to walk up a long flight of stairs. The hall ways are very narrow. But the rooms were very clean and solid. Shower was great. Bidet was excellent. Breakfast was included but was just ok. As I’ve said several times throughout this process, the ongoing construction was disappointing. It was on every floor. The entire building was essentially under renovation. I almost felt like they should just close it down until it’s done. Was noisy at times. They also were sawing right outside my window on the outdoor stairwell. They had a clear view of my room (unless we closed the curtains which we did). The location is also not great. However, it IS right next to the tram that you can take. So it’s do able.. however, I obviously wish we could’ve just walked to the main areas of the city instead of taking the tram. But overall it wasn’t too bad doing that. Just was an extra step.

What a gem of a hotel. Location superb with a bus and tram terminus within a 5 min walk. Hotel is currently undergoing a complete renovation but this does not affect your stay. The rooms are well furnished, clean, bright and amenties provided are kettle for tea and fridge with bottled water. The tea is replaced but not the bottledxwater. Bathrooms have large shower, bidet, hairdryers and shower gel and soap. Beds very comfy with 2 pillows.
Staff are excellent, welcoming and helpful. English and French were spoken. Breakfast available to book separately if required.
Comments - no coffee was included only English Breakfast and Earl Grey and no milk. We didnt ask for any so im sure it would have been provided. Cups on the tea tray were cardboard cups. Would have been nice to have a real cup but I appreciate it keep costs lower.

Hotel is remodeling, but it was a minimal inconvenience. Rooms are modern and bathroom was fantastic (best shower ever). I do hope they can maintain some of the classic visual charm i saw online though.

Breakfast was very good, a few more savory items might have been nice though.

Originally thought it was a bit out of the way, then discovered a very convenient tram line at the end of the block. Excellent if coming in/out of train station.

Very happy with the stay.

We stayed two nights at La Fortezza because of its location -- easy access to transport options to the airport at the end of our Italy trip, yet still within walking distance (1 mile) to the heart of Florence or to the train station. The room was very clean & comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was fine. But the best part of our stay was the reception staff — all three of the folks we encountered at the front desk were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, as well as bilingual, just what you want when staying in a new city in a new country.

Clean room, amazing breakfast (even if not included in the reservation and payed separately), well connected

The staff are always friendly and there to help. The rooms are clean and big. the price is the best in the area for such a great hotel. in good walking distance to the city center and also near the tram.

The hotel us in an excellent location and all staff that I interacted with were very pleasant and happy to help. This is the third time I have stayed here and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone I know who is travelling to Florence
