Booked 2 deluxe rooms. They were very clean and spacious but the bathrooms and furniture were dated and there was a problem with the air conditioning in one of the rooms. Rooms had lovely views at the front of the hotel with the sea in the distance.
Breakfast could only be described as a disaster. Very small quantities and a limited selection of food sitting out and once empty there was a long wait to get refilled....wasn't even busy. It just appeared that staff didnt want to put out more food. Same went for the drinks..orange juice jugs would only get half refilled and so emptied very quickly and then it was a long wait to get more. We actually came away from breakfast still hungry. The older lady working at breakfast was nice and accommodating however the younger girl with long dark hair was extremely rude , very unwelcoming and never smiled ...she was actually quite intimidating and made us feel very uncomfortable if we asked for anything that had run out in the breakfast buffet.
The swimming pool was beautiful and it was very easy to get a sun lounger to relax on. Definitely the best part of the hotel.
On entering the reception to the left is a large room with a bar area but it was completely empty each evening with no music or entertainment. The outside bar area was also empty so we just went back to our rooms each evening.
Given the very disappointing breakfast we didn't try the restaurant for dinner but instead travelled into Cannes.
Schönes Hotel in ruhiger Lage.
Le lieu est sublime et tout le personnel d une gentillesse rare. J ai adoré sejourner dans cet hotel et j y reviendrai.
We stayed two nights at this hotel in August. Upon arrival, we noticed our room’s air conditioner was not functional. We spoke to reception and they came to check and confirmed it was on. We left for a couple of hours, leaving the air conditioner on full fan, hoping to cool the room. On our return, the room was even warmer so we asked to be moved to another room.
The room we were moved to was a staff space and had no light, an unclean bathroom, a mouldy smell and holes in the plaster on the walls. But it did have a working air conditioner and by this time of afternoon, we were not able to find an affordable alternative hotel so we agreed to stay. We were told by the reception staff that we would discuss a refund in the morning with the manager.
The next day when we asked to speak to the manager, we were told she had left for the day. We asked the receptionist to please call her to confirm our refund. Over the phone, she confirmed that we would be reimbursed for our stay the following day.
As we went to check out the following morning, we were told that the manager doesn’t work on Mondays and as we had a plane to catch, we had to take the receptionists word that it would be sorted on Tuesday.
It has now been three weeks and we have sent a dozen emails which go unanswered. The few times we have been able to have a phone call answered, we face the same excuse of the manager not being there.
I am imploring the manager to please get in contact with me about this issue.
In the meantime, if you’re considering staying here - I’d choose somewhere else.
Parfait
Beautiful secluded hotel, close to the main areas, amazing food and pool, clean rooms. Great view of the ocean and nice surrounding areas! Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Wow, I feel like I’m being pranked. This is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but if you’re familiar with the American hotel brand Motel 6, this is more like that.
We were walked to the Deluxe room that we paid for and when we stepped inside, it was like a sauna. It was as hot as it was outside, and it was 32°C/90°F. The gentleman who walked us up then said that the a/c was broken, as he offered us a smaller room that had a working a/c. Because we knew we would not be able to sleep in that sweltering room, we opted for the smaller room.
When we walked into that room, I was doubting my choice. It is clearly not a room they usually offer because it was disgusting. Holes in the walls, peeling paint and wallpaper, weird mismatched furniture that felt like it was collected from a garage sale, stained carpet, cheap rickety shelving/hanger unit…just entirely unacceptable from an aesthetic perspective - and I am willing to give a lot of latitude usually. Just look at the photos of this €300/night, 4-star hotel.
We were offered a free breakfast as compensation, which is almost an insult. Happily we’re only staying here one night.
Booked last minute for an event I was attending on my own in Cannes. Felty safe and cpomfortable there as a solo female traveller and would recommend. It's a 5 mins cab away, 30 mins walk Palais, or 40 mins scenic route along the beach to the Palais. It's a classic hotel, and my small 'traditional' room was quaint, well kept and all I needed. The ocean view was a great. Had the whole terrace and pool to myself too despite the hotel being full - worth noting though the pool is seasonal ie: not heated so brace yourself!
Great staff, nice pool and terrace area. well located and easy bus ride into Cannes. About 20 mins walk to the beach.
This Hotel was clean and had a very nice view up on the hillside. Beautiful trees, pool was nice.
The staff (except Leo) were not very
easy to work with or helpful.
It was super difficult to get drinking water! No manager on duty to speak with. Heard other people complaining about the service as well.
Me and my spouse were there for 2 nights. The first night we didn't have AC. The receptionist mentioned the AC is ON but we were literally sweating at night as the unit was just blowing air.
Next morning I checked with another receptionist and he told that the AC portion had to be turned ON from their end. We paid a good amount for our 2 nights. We won't be staying there again. The room is ok for 2 people but not enough lighting. Not enough plug points to charge your gadgets unless you remove the light plugs.
What a great find. Nestled on Cannes heights this 4 * is a little gem. Great rooms (some with sea view), nice pool, and excellent restaurant (the chef won the prestigious “meilleur ouvrier de France” award”, this is a great place to relax, meet friends and/or have a couple break; and the buzz of the Croisette and its beaches is a few minutes away. Finally, the staff’s professionalism and kindness are second to none, a keeper.
Amazing position, quiet and nice view in an old refurbished structure.
My room was not big but with a nice view on the swimming pool.
Polite staff and nice breakfast
I would definitely go back for my next business trip to Cannes.
Beautiful pool, lovely setting and great restaurant. Our room was quite small and could have used an update. The air conditioning was apparently new but we could not get it to work.
Cannes is a busy place so it was nice to come back to this serene setting.
The hotel itself was very clean but the rooms were very small and the building was old. The staff were nice. The location was good in terms of being close to the beach but hardly you can find a walking distance restaurant or other stores. Still I do recommend this hotel in Cannes.
It is a beautyful hotel, but the staff is absolutely terrible. The Chinese lady at the reception screamed at me and challenged me to a fist fight, no kidding. I have never had such an experience in my life.
Absolutely loved it here. Hotel had free parking and a beautiful pool and garden. The bedroom was lovely but very small-there was no plug by the table to plug the kettle in so had to unplug the air freshener and boil it on the carpet. The bathroom was clean but if Iwas nitpicking it could have been updated. Lovely view from the window. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked beautiful. Quite some way out of town but nice and quiet.
Lovely property and pretty, spacious rooms.
Excellente expérience au Château de la Tour. Superbe propriété avec beaucoup d'espace extérieur. Très propre. Après une journée d'activités autour de Cannes, ça fait du bien de relaxer à la piscine.
La terrasse de notre chambre a été appréciée.
Excellent service.
Merci à l'équipe.
