The reception staff were terrific and our rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The wait staff, especially one member, was extremely rude. The food in the restaurant was over priced and not really acceptable for such a good quality hotel. When this was mentioned , very politely to the wait staff, they were rude and ignored my request for replacement crackers to go with the cheese. I had to ask another member of staff after waiting quite some time to catch their attention.
Every time I rang prior to my stay, to ask questions etc, I received excellent and courteous advice.
During our stay two staff members worked above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Their names were Lucy and Rayn. We got the impression there werent a lot of staff on, yet these two ran around looking after everybody and everything like doing the check ins, bringing things to rooms and even grabbing people's cars for them! They did all of this with so much composure and courtesy that they deserve to be acknowledged by senior management. I do hope someone will get back to me to assure this happened.
It was a bit sad that a "rough sleeper" had made their way into our floor during the night and slept on one of the lounges. We thought it was a shame that one of your staff members had to deal with that, that said, we saw first hand how nicely and delicately it was sorted. Your staff shouldn't have to be placed in that situation, and possibly that could be sorted with a swipe in and swipe out situation, and or more staff, especially over a long weekend.
As I said before, it was evident there wasn't enough staff, and the poor who were on deserve a medal! Finally, it wasn't very nice that the dirty plates, glasses etc were in the corridors well after we checked in. Again, guessing it was a staffing issue. But yeh, I hope thats not a regular occurrence for your guests.
