Charming modernist hotel originally designed by Palm Springs architect Albert Frey. We had a queen suite with a living room downstairs & two queens upstairs, with a large balcony overlooking the pool area. Fun decor; comfortable beds; welcoming and helpful staff.
Great location! We did a driving tour of mid-century modern homes as it was too hot to walk around outside!
Will definitely stay here again!
Minor issues: downstairs AC wasn't cooling the room sufficiently (mind you, it was 111 outside). AC upstairs was fine. Also, tiny bubbles made the room's water milky, which I didn't m8nd but gave my daughter pause.
The architect and the style! This is not the first in Palm Springs and this particular hotel!
I get that every business owner wants to reduce the cost, however, the fact that the lobby of the hotel was closed every time I come and you had to walk to check in through the other hotel (Triada) that’s not professional in hotel business! It gives you the impression that this hotel is way less important and lower class than the other property which is owned by the same owner and belongs to the Marriott chains.
I like rooms that smell nice and elegant but with no strong scent. The folks there put a scent with a strong smell (not in this hotel only in PS by the way) in the room and frankly this is not a cleanliness measurement!
Internet was too slow and in many cases not working I had to continue using my carrier internet!

The alarm clock on the nightstand went off at 5 in the morning waking us up (we didn't set any alarm)
This was my second visit to the Movie Colony hotel, once last February and then again in June 2026. The hotel is a great find and would highly recommend! Such a great welcome from Nate on reception and both the room and hotel facilities are beautiful. No more than a 10 min walk to the bars and restaurants and plenty of hotel parking. Spotlessly clean rooms which are really well appointed, a great pool area and this hotel brings all the Palm Springs vibes too.
We did a buyout of all the rooms for our class reunion. We rented every room in the hotel. We have done this before and we keep coming back here because the service and the staff are amazing. They had a renovation a few years ago, so everything is well kept and very clean. I cannot stress how amazing Jessica, Nate and Aleena are. The cleaning crew are also incredible. They were very attentive and incredibly nice.
I love this hotel because it is very quiet, very well maintained, and they attract the most friendly guests.

This hotel was great Aleena was so helpful with so much. Her professional and helpful attitude was top notch. The pool while small was nice and the room was good. The AC could be a bit stronger and the windows to open would be helpful but otherwise great when we are back in Palm springs we will stay again.
Lovely location, convenient parking, close to town. Beautiful spacious patios.
Toilet pipes - not great. Floor in my room was slightly slanted so the drawers wouldn't stay shut.

Reception closed on arrival and departure.
You have to check in at a restaurant / hotel next door. Loud cranky air con kept me awake all night along with bright outside flights beaming through poor quality shutters. Tiny bottles of waters z 2 the only potable water around . No other humans in sight .
