The hotel is clean and nice. We had great experience with breakfast thanks to Antonio who is friendly and professional.

A week before my stay, I received a glitch on my payment - I was charged double for one night stay - charged at booking while using partial IHG member points + cash, and again the same amount 7 days later. I called the hotel and spoke with Louis and then the manager, both respectful and professional, determined to resolve my dilemma. Then, David contacted IHG himself and - after back and forth for 4 hours - resolved everything! Imagine not having to go through all that time lost and patience tested. David took on the task so I didn't have to. He called me back with a confirmation # and promise to follow up. Hours before checking in, David called me to make sure everything was still smooth on my end and assure me that my reservation is exactly what I wanted in the first place.
David was at the front desk when we checked in. I was so glad to meet the person who literally saved my vacation!
David is not only knowledgeable and professional, but also personable and easy to interact with. I feel like we are definitely friends for life now!

My room was clean and comfortable. No complaints whatsoever.

The beds were comfortable and the staff was nice.

The front desk person was so welcoming! More memorable and appreciated than even the other things we liked and appreciated.

PROS
- A full slate of room items: iron microwave, fridge, large TV, desk and chair etc.
- Breakfast with hot and cold options
- Breakfast Room: On the second floor, open all the time, useful for reading, studying, working etc. Tea etc available 24/7. Convenient to get out of the room for a while.
- Public Transport: I survived 4 days in LA without a car! The Santa Monica Big Blue bus is especially useful, and even takes you to the metro (which then took me to a Lakers game). LA busses also go on SM Blvd.
- Parking looked spacious but I didn't use it. $30/day
- Enterprise Rental Car is 1 block down the road
- A few restaurants within a block - Kabobs, Subway, Mexican, Thai
- Late checkout for IHG Members: 2pm
- Friendly and helpful service - front desk always staffed and available.
- Nuart movie theater (opened in 1930) and a surviving movie rental place with a huge inventory for sale or rent, are on the same block as the hotel
- Price: about $200 with taxes
CONS
- The bed was a bit soft for my taste, but I slept well
- No recycling of any kind, either in the room or in the lobby, or even nearby. I thought California was an environmentally conscious state!
- I couldn't get the heat to work well, although I mostly used AC
- Low water pressure in shower - I informed the staff when checking out and was told this is "not normal" for this hotel.
- Neighborhood is OK but I didn't feel safe walking at night (especially walking under the nearby highway)

This hotel was a perfect place for our adventure to the U.S. Open women’s golf tournament at the Riviera country club. We really liked being greeted by Antonio every morning at breakfast. He made sure everything was clean and we found everything we needed. Breakfast was great! He had a winning smile and he was always ready to help.
