Good place

I stayed solo in room no 006,What a piece of beauty and comfort. Clean rooms,lavish ambience, toothful food, professional staff. All under the supervision of their owner. I am still staying with them but all this encouraged me to write down review before leaving this class hotel. I will be coming delhi back again after few months but damn sure next time I am going to book the same hotel. It's above and beyond. Thanks to the owner and all team for managing in such great way and taking care of us this kind of hospitality will push me to come back again. Kudos!!!!

The Room was Basic but ok, We had a Western style Toilet (which was essential for us). The Bed was Large and Clean. There was little noise in the night (sounded like furniture being moved in the rom above) but other than that it was quiet for the area. All the Staff were polite and very helpful. Great Value.

Located on a busy street with a bustling market. Very noisy at times. No separation between shower and toilet so everywhere was wet by the time you’re finished showering. Hot water only available on mornings and evenings. Staff were generally helpful and friendly.

I recently had an extremely distressing experience during my stay at The Grand Uddhav in Delhi, India. Unfortunately, I had both my laptop and some cash stolen from my room. The only individuals seen on CCTV entering my room were the hall boy and cleaner, which clearly points to an internal theft issue.

The hotel management's response was incredibly disappointing. It took them an entire day to contact the police. To make matters worse, they informed us that if we filed a theft report, we would be required to stay in the country until the case was resolved, which could take several weeks. This seemed like a tactic to dissuade us from reporting the incident. This lack of urgency and support from the hotel management left us feeling unsafe and mistrustful of the staff.

Given the severity of the situation and the hotel's poor handling of it, I cannot recommend The Grand Uddhav to anyone. Travelers deserve to feel secure and supported by the establishments they choose to stay with, and sadly, this was not the case here.

Please be cautious if you decide to stay at this hotel, and ensure you keep your valuables secure at all times.

Date of Stay: April 2024

Stayed for a week in April. Had to move rooms one second night. Hotel manager said leave luggage with him and he’ll moved from one to room to other and lock it up and it would be safe. We left our luggage in first room and went out. Returned 8 hours later and bags had been moved to second room. When we opened bags we found a laptop and about £500 in cash had been stolen out of one bag. It was the only bag we didn’t padlock! We confronted the hotel manager who initially denied it could be his cleaner or floor manager who were seen in cctv entering and leaving both rooms when we were out. We sat through the cctv and saw them move the padlocked bags quickly but then spent 2-3 mins in the first room before moving the unlocked bag which was stolen from. They then carried towels in a bundle out the first room and out of cctv. We queried the items were hidden in the towels. Hotel manager said he’d call police but they would be an hour to arrive. When we went back to reception an hour later were told police hadn’t been called and manager had gone home for night. Following morning we demanded the police come and after making us wait 30mins past an allotted time we travelled with hotel staff to police station. Spoke to two policemen. Were told if we pressed charges our passports would be seized and we could not leave country. However if we just said the items were lost somewhere in the neighbourhood and completed a certificate of loss we could keep passports, claim on our insurance and go home. Without anyone impartial and with no WiFi signal we couldn’t tell we were being lied to. There was no need to stay in country if we pressed charges. We were told the hotel was reputable and perhaps we either didn’t have a laptop or lost it outside hotel and were blaming hotel for our mistake. We had the charger to prove there was a laptop and cctv proof we never left hotel with laptop. Unable to get anywhere after 3 hours with the police we agreed to completing the certificate so we could leave. We then went to speak to the hotel manager who admitted one of his staff did it but said there was no proof on cctv to sack them. So if you stay in this hotel do not leave anything in your room of value. There are no safes in the rooms either. Lock them in a bag with a padlock or keep them on you at all times. We never expected the cleaner or floor manager to steal from us.

Otherwise clean hotel, beds and sheets clean, towels clean, room clean, minibar reasonable price. Avoid the 200 rupee roof top restaurant. Photos and food do not match. Very poor quality food and dirty tables and cutlery.

Facilities are the best. Beautiful view. I had a wonderful experience here. Every staff members were so patient n delightful. The rooms were clean n fresh. Room services were best here!!!!!!!!Thank you for the beautiful memories
Hotel The Grand Udhav: It was very nice stay with neat n tidy rooms. very cooperative n polite staff. swimming pool was great but water was smelling little bit. over all pocket friendly stay with memorable experiences ✨️

The one thing is not good the hot water is only available in the morning and evening (6 to 9am and 7 to 10pm)

I travelled with my friend from Udaipur. We had booked a room for 1 day, as we had a train the following day. After a 24 hour train, we navigated through a congested market, where a small building was present. Upon arrival, we were informed that anyone with local id cannot be allowed entry. I tried explaining that I was a resident of Delhi, but I have moved to the US permanently. I even showed my US ids, but they still kept repeating your local id shows Delhi. They straight away refused for a refund, claiming the cancellation policy denies any refund. What was worse was the behavior of the staff. Ms. Roshni Kaur, manager talked in an aggressive tone and was not respectful. There was someone named Mr. Magoo. He tried intimidating us, abused and told his colleagues, "Bahar nikalo in chutiyo ko" (Throw these {hindi abuse} people out of here). My female friend started crying, and it was scary. GoIbibo has not taken any action. We neither got a refund, not was any action taken against these bullies

Horrific experience at Hotel The Grand Uddhav, Udaipur!!
I wish there could be an option to rate below 1 star for this property. Recently got a chance to stay at this Hotel. When we reached here, got to know that they don’t even have a basic facility of accepting payments through cards (although as claimed this being a 3 star property). There is no provision to park the vehicle and we were asked to park our car on road at our own risk. There are no dental or shaving kits in the room and the linen were smelling bad. There is no kitchen/ restaurant in this hotel.
The real ordeal started later in night when there was a small stain on bed sheet for which we requested the reception to change it. (I am attaching pics of the same for better understanding). Owner of this property- Palash who seems to be under some substance influence started misbehaving with us and threatened us to pay for the new bed sheet or else to face dire consequences. We were frightened as I was staying with my family including my 7 year old child. He even asked us to check out of hotel in the middle of the night and used inappropriate gestures towards me and my wife.
Finally we paid the price of new bed sheet and came back to our room and ket praying the entire night to leave from this hotel safely.
This is the way owner and staff of this hotel behave with their guests, so if you guys are considering this property to stay, this is solely at your own risk.
Not recommend for travellers with family and kids.

We booked the room in this hotel for two days 30 sep and 1 oct 2023. The bad experience started from the beginning. From railway station, we did not find any taxi for this hotel which is just 700 metres away because of the congested road and even the auto charged Rs 100. Then we reached hotel at 11 am and they said that they will try to provide the already booked room because checkin time is 12 pm but they provided at 12:30. Meanwhile we ordered paranthas from the hotel which they were not able to prepare even till 12:30 pm. When we got the room, we found the dirty bucket and mug in bathroom, bathroom tiles were dirty. washbasin was broken. there was no liquid hand wash in hotel. Thank god we come to know by dinner that e rikshaws run there till a very good restaurant bangla foods and from there we can easily book taxis also because of broad roads and no traffic jam. At the time of booking, the hotel said taxis fluently come there. All reviews are misleading. Then it was worst ever experience for breakfast. Cheap quality cornflakes were used. Only idli sambhar was there other than cornflakes and bread butter. Sambhar was worst ever we had ever tasted with no vegetables in it. The bed mattresses were of such kind it is full of dots of threads that can be felt under the bed sheet due to being so old and low quality. Like you get "buur" on the low quality clothes. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEIR CLEANING STAFF TOOK OUR FULL SIZE TRIDENT BATH TOWEL BECAUSE IT WAS OF WHITE COLOUR. FIRST OF ALL WE THOUGHT THAT WE WOULD HAVE PACKED IT AND DID NOT RAISE ON 1 OCT. THEN WE TOLD THEM ON 2 OCT BEFORE GOING BECAUSE WE HAD EARLY MORNING TRAIN. THEY DID NOT TAKE PAIN TO LOCATE IT AND THEN THEY SAID THEY WILL COURIER TO US. WHEN I CALLED THEM MANY TIMES, THEY MUST HAVE RECOGNIZED MY PHONE NUMBER AND STOPPED PICKING UP THE PHONE. THEY PICKED THREE TIMES SAYING WE ARE SEEING BUT OF NO USE. DEFINITELY THEY DON'T CARE.

Everything about the hotel was exceptional . Awesomely rooms and food was good with less cost. Services was better and fast . very good atmosphere surroundings hotel.it was comfortable place to stay in rooms fully neat and clean . memorable movement in my life

Everything was nice until the last day because of the person who was working at the reception desk.

He asked questions about our stay in the hotel.

I was complaining about the noise inside the hotel (we heard everything). And then he wanted to help and check if I had received an email to write a review. I gave him my phone and he checked my booking app. Then I realised that he put a rate of 10 without my agreement.
It’s a shame!
The rates are fake for sure if he does that to everyone.

Dont go there

If I could rate this hotel as 0, I would. You pay hotel price and you get hostel with dirty sheets and smelly towels. Neighborhood is not safe. They don't return booking fee. Do not let them trick you. Scam!!!

Do not book this place under any circumstances.
We should have had our suspicions raised when we first booked on booking.com. The hotel website says that we pay the hotel on arrival. Once booked you then get an email from the hotel directing you to a third party website to pay for your room. If you don’t pay, they cancel your booking.
We checked in late after our flight from Singapore. It was 10pm. If we had arrived earlier in the day we would have turned around there no then and walked straight back out. The place was filthy. The sheets were stained and the towels were a horrible off white colour where they hadn’t been washed properly. The tv has one tv Chanel in Indian. We had nowhere else to go and we had a small child so we had to stay. The hotel is in a back street where traders are selling things almost around the clock. The streets are filthy and there are rats everywhere. All through the night there was banging of doors. You just can’t sleep. There is a small window in the room overlooking a back house who were cooking something until the early ours. The disgusting food smell was constant in the room. You can only get hot water in the room for a few hours a day, there is no fridge, no safe. No air conditioning and no heating.
We had a trip planned to Agra the next day so we booked to stay at a different hotel for our return after the trip and checked out.
This property proudly displays an 8 out of 10 rating on booking. Com.I have no idea why. It’s terrible. If you want to sleep, stay somewhere else.

Only reception staff were cordial and supportive.
Room was not cleaned and full of insects on the floor and also on the bed.
Room was smelly.
Food (veg fried rice) was oily and too spicy to eat.
Not value for money.

The Hotel is in he main market area. However, the place outside the hotel is very crowded, the hotel room is very clean. The food provided by the hotel is also very good. It was a very good stay at very affordable rates.
