Good price in a lovely village close to M4
Even closer to the London Oxford railway line
Location good for next day onwards travel
Room and bathroom old decor, poor plumbing low pressure
Charming and comfortable.
Breakfast was ok.
Double room very small.
Plumbing was odd, turn the cold tap to get hot water, taps turned the wrong way.
Building is dated, carpets frayed.
I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Very friendly welcome and room was nicely decorated and furnished with a lovely comfy bed and good size ensuite. Breakfast was great and good value for money. The bar was also very welcoming, good atmosphere with lovely food and very friendly locals and bar staff.
I loved the property and the location so I can’t find fault with anything.
[location was good as we were attending a wake for a friend at the Pangbourne club which was quite close to The George
The room was very small, the TV was very small 22 inch and on a side wall the picture kept breaking up.and it could not be seen when laying in bed.. When I spoke to the owner about the room, she was very aggressive and said she had upgraded us, if that was an upgrade what was the original like. the room was very tiered, Breakfast was £12.50 each Full English we had it on the first day disappointed, next day we went to the cafe across the road £11 Full English excellent food and service
The hotel was unstaffed. The female owner was doing everything, check-in waiting tables in the bar, and serving drinks in the bar.
There was no hand soap in the room. I asked for hand-soap thinking it had been forgotten, I was told they did not supply it because the tiny bars were wasteful. I was also directed to the Co-op across the street to buy my own!
The main railway line ran so close to the hotel, faces of people were visible. Train rumbling by started at 5:30 am and stopped around 10 pm. This disturbed sleep.
Price. Easychck in, check out. Free parking
Bed uncomfortable. Toilet in room un heated and cold
The Staff were very accommodating as I requested late check in. The Key for my room was left at reception and the main door code was given to me.
Pangbourne is a beautiful village and we were very close to the social club.
No food available at all. Next to the train line and trains were frequent.
Shower was poor. Not welcoming.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was great to be able to check in late. The pub food was good - quick and generous portions. The cleanliness of the hotel was good. The room was cold when we arrived but when we turned the radiator on it heated up quickly and we were very warm.
The parking - we had to park in the local car park which was only a short distance from the hotel. The shower was basic but adequate. I would have liked some bottled water in the room.
