The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable.
Darcy's Restaurant at the hotel was a huge disappointment. The pre paid food was expensive and of very, very poor quality. We had travelled a very long way to celebrate an 82nd birthday with family but unfortunately this will now be memerable for all the wrong reasons.
It took 2 hours to have 2 courses. The Restaurant was freezing making the wait seem even longer. When the food arrived it was clearly cheap supermarket frozen food and disgusting. Out of 6 meals none were satisfactory.
The Hotel manager did listen to our complaints and worked hard to make amends immediately. We felt sorry for the serving staff and hotel duty manager but we also were bitterly disappointed. We will never return.
The location was good. The reception staff were friendly.
For the price we paid, we would have expected breakfast to be included. Whilst we were in the hotel we noticed that the room was on Booking.com for half what we paid. The pillows were really flat - I had to use the towels from the bathroom to prop them up. The bed and duvet had a stale smell about it.
Staff rang us before we checked in to discuss car parking options as there was a busy event taking place and the car park was full.
Toilet flush didn't work consistently and gave up completely on our last night
Breakfast was excellent staff very attentive overall a very pleasant stay.
Booking was so easy. I spoke to Natalie in reception, and she couldn't have been more welcoming, pleasant and accommodating. I was booking an Afternoon tea for two, but I have very complex allergies. She reasured me that she would pass on the information I gave her to the chef and it shouldn't be a problem. She said that the chef was experienced enough to deal with allergy requirements. On the day, today, we ere greeted by Janine. She was lovely, also really pleasant, and took us straight through to the dining area. It was very nicely decorated and light, with soft music playing. She asked what we would like to drink, and brought it out to us then went back for our afternoon tea. She brought us two individual cake stands. My husband's had some different foods on his, but Janine explained that all the things I had on mine were totally safe for me to eat. It didn't compromise on quantity either, with just the same amount on both. Everything was fresh, tasty and enjoyable. My compliments to Emily, the chef. I gave her a difficult task, as I am only just getting my head round the many things I cannot eat, myself. Everywhere was so clean, including the cloakrooms. First class afternoon and I can highly recommend this hotel.
The food was good, bed was comfortable and the staff were lovely. The grounds were impressive too. Convenient to go into Sheffield but in a quiet rural setting.
Booked a weekend break at this hotel - what a treat. When we arrived Reception told us we were getting an upgrade and the room did not disappoint.
After settling into our room we went to the bar and met Janine who 'doubled up as bar person and waitress. Shw was both friendly and attentive. The food too was reasonably priced and delicious.
Paulo at breakfast also deserves a special mention - welcoming and helpful when choosing dishes without being overbearing. A pleasure to have him serving us.
All in all a restful and memorable visit - WELL DONE.

Breakfast disappointing. Serving dishes were almost empty and some items not available.
The wedding and facilities were spot on. The food was really good, the pizzas at night were great, and the wait wasn't long.
The room was clean, and it was great being on the ground floor.
It was lovely and quiet.

I think that the room was a little small for the price, but it did include breakfast.
There were some cobwebs on the ceiling to the right of the bedhead
Breakfast was undercooked staff were abrupt Room unclean towels dirty badly stained Room full of ladybirds bed uncomfortable
