I was trying so hard NOT to write this review bc I don't want to be bitter about my wedding in any way. BUT- I'm actually still pretty upset. I'm very specifically leaving a review for my wedding that was held at Beach Retreat in Aug 2025. First, the venue director/coordinator were not very personable or detail oriented, nor did they keep track of my requests. I had to ask multiple times for things to change. Communication would also take 1-2 weeks per email.
The actual wedding had no rain contingency plan and it poured up until 40 mins before the wedding. Multiple people told me the food was cold from the caterer, people working the event didn't seem happy to be there. The bartender was great, but we only had 1 for open bar- open bar is a complete waste of money there's no way enough drinks were served to make that worth it.
The venue gave my family heirlooms back to another bride that weekend and I still have yet to receive them back. I think this place could give a crap about me. Completely over priced for what you get. I had a good time at my wedding, but the people I had to deal with here left the most bitter taste in my mouth about weddings. I would say if you have any money to spend on your wedding, go elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend.
Location was great
Missing things in room . No soap. No washcloths . And shower was not fully cleaned
Location
Nothing
The beach access
Nothing
Close to the water and many restaurants, grocery store, the village area, etc.
Weddings were fun but also made it so part of the lake shore line was not available during parts of our stay. Not a big deal, but we had to adjust our lake time around the weddings going on
Location and access to everything in town was nice. We spent most of our day time out driving the lake loop seeing the sites and the Fall leaves which was amazing!
N/A
Beach front hotel, lobby has water and coffee. Smores kits complimentary. Friendly staff.
Mold on the bottom corners of the shower. Had to open the bathroom door with all your might because it stuck badly. Sliding door was very hard to open. Was a wedding going on Sunday night and music was extremely loud inside our room, had to listen to it till 10pm. The Boathouse restaurant is walking distance, run down and horrible service, ended up walking out before ordering.
The location with the small private beach was the best part! The view was priceless.
Beds were not comfortable and you can feel the floor giving away in parts of the hotel. I was worried of falling through into the other room. The balcony felt the same...lol once renovations have taken place, it wouldn't be too bad.
Clean room overlooking the beach, hotel it self was comfortable and well maintained, staff very friendly easy check in and out. Restaurants were disappointing, Sports Bar inside lobby had much more limited menu thwn what was shown online, guessing this is because the entire property is closing in a couple of week, bought by some east coast developer. The Beachouse was just, plain dingy with only one person covering the bar and all the tables inside and out, it was apparent the service would be slow because of this so we left, again probably because they are closing and all employees already have their layoff notice. This has been a nice relatively affordable property, but it seems that is about to change if the developer gets their way.
Room was very small, tiny bathroom, issues with fireplace and TV not working intermittently. Felt rundown for the price you pay.
Good location and comfy bed
Beautiful wonderful excellent
I was just disappointed that the tiki bar was closed. Otherwise, everything was good!
