Couples get away: simple. Bright, affordable, in the heart of Carmel By The Sea.
Pros:

Right in the heart of Carmel By The Sea, affordable, crisp, clean, quiet, simple and elegant. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away and enjoy the best of the beach, town, and surrounding nature. We spent 5 days for my birthday, and loved every minute of it.

Pros:

The location was excellent, breakfast was typical of a chain hotel, the staff for breakfast room
Were very helpful. WiFi iffy at best! Room
Was newly refurbished but to a low standard. Manager was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons:

Walls needed sound proofing, the whole hotel needed a facelift . Rooms expensive for what was offered. WiFi marginal.

Simple motel lodging in great location with free parking
Pros:

Simple motel lodging with a great location in the heart of downtown Carmel.

Highlights:
- Location: just few blocks off of ocean so walking distance from everything
- Clean room just remodeled
- Friendly staff at check in
- Free parking in own lot which is a big perk as parking can be challenging in this area
- Have a pool
- Large flatscreen tv
- Complimentary small breakfast and juices in a separate room

Midlights:
- No soap holder in bathroom
- Breakfast only til 10am
- Pretty spendy for the level of lodging but this area is expensive

Lowlights:
- Sheets were bit scratchy, same with thin toilet paper and Kleenex

Amazing staff and stay!
Pros:

In the heart of downtown Carmel, walking distance of everything you need to see! The staff was incredibly kind. The rooms were very clean and modern. Parking was free and (with permission) they allowed me to park till my dinner reservation that was after check out. Breakfast was delicious with good hours. I cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely stay here every time I visit Carmel!

Unprofessional Staff
Pros:

Location is great but staff is bad. Front desk lady was new and clueless and even told me it was her second day so you know how that goes. We get there around eight and we walk in at the same time as a customer and she couldn’t figures something out and had to call higher up and we were waiting for 20 minutes. Then I tell her I paid and book for hotel and she couldn’t explain to me why she needed my card, what she’s charging, and I told and showed her I paid online. I was getting frustrated and she had to call higher up again! Get into the room and there was nats, flies, and blood stains on 2 towels. We turned them in and asked for new ones the same night and we found a little one on another! Next day she told me “ we had a meeting and it wasn’t us, it was you guys. ask your partner.” That made me so upset and I wished I took pictures but their white towels and why would we turn them in if we caused it and we just go there, doesn’t make sense. First and last time at a best western.

Nice value for money stay
Pros:

Clean, comfortable , lovely service, good location

Cons:

Windows facing the passage, no privacy, no view, half-transparent or one-way transparent blinds would be helpful.
Poor WiFi coverage!!!
