I’m sorry, I hate leaving negative reviews. But under no circumstances should you book here. It looks cool on the website, and I’m sure at one point was a great hotel. However, nothing about this place is nice. The AC in the room didn’t work, we left for a while and they sent maintenance up to ‘fix it’, then called us to confirm it was fixed, and when we returned it clearly wasn’t.
The hot water in the shower doesn’t get ‘hot’ only warm. The TV works, but it’ll say on the guild that channel 12 is ESPN, but then you’ll put it on and it’ll be Food Network or something.
The free breakfast was cold, even when they refilled the food. It was brought out cold. And they weren’t stocked well.
The pool area literally has one table to sit at while your kids swim. So unless you’re the only family at the pool, expect to have no where to sit while your kids swim
Just absolutely nothing about this place is nice. They don’t have a single thing right.
Our group has held our conventions here for many years. We usually stay at the Courtyard Marriott, but due to commitments during the convention, we stayed here. I came prepared with bed bug spray and glue traps, but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to use them. The room was clean, but hot. Could never get the temperature below 76 degrees, even with the window open.
The atrium has seen better days. The waterfall only partially works. Saw what looked to be blood stains in the stairwells.
The staff that works the convention is the hardest working group of folks. They are there late in to the night reconfiguring the meeting rooms, and then back early the next day helping with breakfast and other meal events.
With a little work, this hotel could be pretty again.
I have been to this location several times over the years. This visit, the rooms and facility seemed cleaner. Room fees are reasonable with other Hotels in town. However, the air conditioning in the room was extremely poor to non-existent, when starting the shower - rusty water came out for a little while and we didn't have hot water 2 of the 3 days we were there. The ATM fee was a whopping $ 4.99. I know that I will have to attend future events at this location but my plan is to pay my own way even if it cost more and select another hotel.
The property is in an excellent location, but needs updating badly. The first room I was given had the air-conditioning blowing full blast. Even when turned to heat, still nothing but cold air. There also looked like black mold coming from the vents. I usually don't complain and just deal with it. But, I went to the front desk and explained the problem and they graciously moved me. Second room was fine, but I woke up both mornings with scratchy eyes and stopped up from dust, i am assuming from the ventilation system. Its is a wonderful old hotel with pleasant staff, it just needs some Capital invested back into it. I also haven't received my statement from my stay after they said they would email. No way to contact person to speak to about it either.
I travel frequently and understand that hotels manage a high volume of moving parts, which is why accuracy around room assignments and key access is such a foundational expectation.
During my current stay, my first night went smoothly. However, on the second day I returned to find another guest exiting my assigned room with active key cards that had been issued by the front desk — despite my multi-night reservation still being active. While staff responded once notified, this represents a significant breakdown in room control procedures and raises understandable concerns around guest privacy and safety.
Situations like this are rarely about one individual mistake; they typically point to process gaps in occupancy tracking, key management, or check-in verification. For a property serving business travelers and government visitors, reinforcing these operational safeguards is critical to maintaining guest trust.
There’s clear potential here — the location is convenient and my initial experience was positive — but consistency in core hospitality standards will ultimately define whether guests feel secure returning. I hope management treats this as an opportunity to review protocols and strengthen internal controls moving forward.
It’s a little dated, but it’s pretty darn good. My company has hosted some consulting & leadership development groups here. The rooms were sufficient and beds comfortable. The bathrooms felt like could use some updating, but all in all comfortable.
Great location in middle of downtown, with easy and ample parking onsite. The in-house catered food seemed to be fine as well, as all of our participants seemed to be satisfied with it.
A large group of us traveled 3 hours for a field trip for our kids, and chose this hotel for the location, indoor pool & breakfast buffet. After check in, we discovered the pool was closed (this was not disclosed on their website or at booking) . The rooms were clean & comfortable. A few of us didnt have hot water in our bathrooms. Warm but not hot. The selection at the breakfast buffet was good. But all the items that are supposed to be hot were barely even warm. So that was very disappointing, and im sure not up to health code temperatures .
Rooms are dated and in bad shape. The pull out couch didn’t work and the bed was super uncomfortable. One set of lights didn’t work. The room was either super hot or super cold no matter what we did with the thermostat. The front desk staff never mentioned the complimentary breakfast buffet; we found out about it AFTER it was closed for the day. The food was cold and tasteless anyway. The pool was not working and the fitness center is a joke…non-working equipment and rusty weights. You also cannot have anything brought up to your room; if you need fresh towels or more coffee supplies, you have to go down and get it yourself. Housekeeping only comes in “every 3 or 4 days.”
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. The experience was far below expectations and did not reflect the standards presented in your online photos or descriptions.
Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the venue was not up to par — the overall appearance and condition of the facilities were misleading and inconsistent with what was advertised. Additionally, I was alarmed to learn that my account was charged the full amount for the hotel stay, despite no clear or documented policy authorizing such charges under these circumstances. This represents a serious violation of standard business and hospitality practices.
The situation was further compounded by the fact that the front desk staff appeared unequipped and untrained to handle guest concerns. When I attempted to address these issues, I was met with confusion and an inability to provide proper assistance or escalation.
This experience was unacceptable, and I will be informing everyone regarding the quality and integrity of your services, as this type of treatment reflects poorly on your establishment and its partnership with institutions.
I request a full review of this incident, an explanation of your billing policies, and a refund for the charges assessed in violation of your stated procedures.
This is a dump. Old hotel that need severe upgrade. Nothing works and they bill you for the full stay before you arrive and charge 50 deposit. Go somewhere else
Very disappointing hotel. Rooms smelled like mildew. Late October and chilly outside, but the ac was blasting in all the rooms, control in the room did nothing. Shower did not get hot, Luke warm at best. Serious maintenance is needed. Cosmetically the hotel is fine in the lobby when you arrive and the atrium. Rooms look okay, but pillows feel like a bag of minimal cotton balls. Very uncomfortable mattress. Free breakfast in the morning. Is a joke.Hotel has seen better days, I would stay away.
Unfortunately, we had a number of issues during our stay.
When we first checked into our room, we found a moldy smell in the air, but decided not to make a big deal about it. We also found one of our smoke detectors was covered in plastic wrap and the lamp in the suite had 1 out of 3 light bulbs burnt out which made the room very dim. When we left the hotel for dinner, I let the front desk staff know about the smoke detector and light bulb, and requested that they both be fixed while we were out. When we returned, I found the smoke detector fixed, but not the light bulb.
I was looking at the AC vent and noticed some black substance on it, so I wiped it with a tissue and it came off jet black. It was disgusting. I don't know if it was black mold or not, but that is something that absolutely needs to be addressed in room 318. When I pulled back the sheets on the bed, I immediately saw a long black curly hair. Also disgusting. We still decided to stay in the room because it was getting late and didn't want to cause ourselves a fuss, but I noted that I should tell the staff the next day.
Sometime around 11:00 PM, I went to use our bathroom and found unexpected water on the floor. I started feeling drips of water on me and found it coming from the ceiling. The drywall had obviously been patched in that space and it felt spongy to the touch. I think this moisture behind the ceiling may be the source of the black mold (this MUST be addressed!!). At that point I went to the front desk to request a new room, which they did give us and we moved next door to room 319. This room did not have a moldy smell or black stuff on the vent.
At checkout the next day I showed the tissue that I used to wipe the AC vent to the desk staff, told them about the dirty sheets, and they did not seem to care at all. I understand you're not running a 5 star hotel, but staff should be alarmed at black mold on an AC vent. There is no good excuse for not closing that room off and fixing the mold issue, it will spread and get worse. We will not be returning unless I hear this is a priority for your property.
We did enjoy our time sitting at the bar and letting Linda serve us drinks! She was a wonderful host and we had great conversations with her.
Hotel was amazing front desk staff couldn't have been better. Great weekend staff
The hotel was fine. Staff was courteous, hotel was clean. The only think that I found aggravating was the table that was placed in front of the steps to access the area where the breakfast buffet was placed. It forced guests to walk around the lobby to the other side for no apparent reason. The front doors and steps to the lobby were also blocked off for no apparent reason. All guests had to enter the front of the hotel through access ramp. Neither of these issues were major obstacles, but inconveniences to guest for no apparent reason.
The hotel was good. Had a problem with the bathroom stool but they came up and fixed it
The room hasn’t been cleaned in a long time because there is dust and dirt behind the bedroom furniture. The hood fan in the kitchenette doesn’t work along with its lightbulb is burnt out. The desk lamp bulb is burnt out. The hallway needs to be deodorized or at least pleasant smelling.
Room was hot and smelled of urine and mold
It was awful first they put Mr into the wrong room. And then they put me into a room with a broken ac and after I begged them to please move me they finely did at three in the morning. When I woke up after three hours of
sleep and went to breakfast that was somuposed to be free, I was told that I would have to pay for it because my room number wasn't on the list... Not any of them... I was not looking good for my cuisines wedding. Tir was a disaster
The location is convenient and safe. There’s parking on site. The beds are comfortable but bring your own pillows. There may have been mold in the AC unit. There was an air purification system in the room but I still woke up with a scratchy throat.
I booked their executive suite for 8 days with my son. The room was nasty. It smelled, there was a lot of rust, and there were lots of food crumbs and dust under the sofa. The ceiling paint was bubbling and peeling. The maids didn’t come, especially on the weekend, and the trash can I put outside the door was untouched for days. Even if it is free, I will never step foot in their rooms again. I am so disappointed, especially because I am in the executive suite.
