This is a pretty cool, character-filled hotel with unique architectural touches you don't see built anymore, including a skybridge over the roadway connecting the two buildings, a nice lobby and bar area, and two pools—with the atrium pool being a real standout.
On top of the property's charm, Sanaka at the front desk was exceptional—professional, polished, and well-spoken. Her service was so impressive that if management doesn't find a way to promote her, they are doing a disservice to society as a whole.
We booked a pool/atrium-view room at the Delta Hotel, we splurged a little for a special occasion paying roughly $80 extra per night specifically so we could enjoy the view, passing up several cheaper alternatives nearby.
Upon check-in, we were told we did not have a pool-view room and that they were sold out, preventing any move. The front desk immediately blamed Booking.com for the error. As someone with hotel management experience, I know the property is directly responsible for uploading and managing its own inventory and room descriptions on Booking.com. Faced with poor attitudes, we decided not to waste extra money on a basic room and requested to check out the next day and go to another less expensive hotel, however we need the hotels permission for this as it's technically against the 48 hour cancelation policy. When we contacted Booking.com to arrange this, their agents tried calling the Delta hotel multiple times to get authorization, but staff wouldn’t answer. After several hours and a dozen or so calls, we were finally permitted to leave the next day. Throughout the process, the staff and management offered attitude, refused to take accountability, and continued deflecting blame onto Booking.com.
The one bright spot was Sanaka (Not 100% sure on the spelling, maybe Shanaka) at the front desk. She was fantastic—she instantly acknowledged the hotel's mistake and offered a sincere apology. Had we dealt with her from the beginning, we would have just stayed and absorbed the extra cost. She is clearly management material, a good attitude and accountability go a long way in the customer service game. Side note, with the AC running full blast, the coolest I was able to get the room (316) was 24 degrees, a bit too hot for sleeping.
I didn’t know there was breakfast.
Tell me there was breakfast
Room was nice & spacious…Like that they had options for supper with the pub or the dining room…. Food was excellent…. Free parking….
The breakfast I had to pay for….
Was $ for what you got…. I ve stayed at other hotels that breakfast was included, rooms cheaper and the breakfast was much better….
Swimming pool and hot tub and breakfast
High expense
It was clean and rooms were nice and spacious.
No AC in the room made it stuffy. Far from any restaurants and bars. Expensive cabs to/from places to go.
Staff are amazing
Wish could have more of that good breakfast
Eine Dame beim Frühstücksbuffet war so lieb, wir haben sie sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Leider kennen wir ihren Namen nicht.
The rooms were nicely renovated, but definitely an older building could use a little bit more renovations
Lower ceilings and not a lot of room rooms
It was clean and well maintained.
During my check in, the guy at front desk could have been more welcoming and should be providing information as it was my first time at this hotel. There should be water bottles in the room.
