Hotel Scala Frankfurt City

I booked this hotel based on its location in Frankfurt. The location is fantastic and the price is right. It is simple, nothing fancy, but you have everything you need. The room was spacious, the bathroom tiny but functional. The front desk staff was friendly and spoke both, German and English. I got to check in early and left my suitcase for a few hours after check out. Breakfast is available but I didn't have any. Oh and the bed was so comfortable, I had a great sleep.

My daughter stayed with a friend for one night. She forgot her AirPods at the hotel (verified with Apple's Find My feature). She immediately notified the front desk from the airport, asking to have them sent to her by mail for a fee, but since they did nothing, she sent multiple official emails requesting them, to which (I imagine deliberately) they never responded. It's sad to see how a hotel can lose quality over AirPods. I believe that the quality of a hotel is also based on the moral integrity of its employees towards the customer. With this experience, who's to say that next time they won't take something from the room? Total unreliability in terms of fairness. I would no longer feel safe. This hotel is to be avoided for this reason.

Low quality employees, some of them are rude to the clients,
The "boss" from reception scalded me on checkout and he told me to wait 30 min for a invoice.
Some of the personnel form reception doesn't speak English.
Rooms are small, loud and extra charged for the offered services.
The city tax is 4 eur/day, I was invoiced by mistake with 10 eur/ day and they refused to return the money saying that I had a good price anyways.
The prices @ events time go extra high without any logical explanation taking into consideration the level of the hotel.
The heat is stoped over night.
Differently I will not visit the hotel again.

Its great feelings, clean and feel safe.

The hotel is a little older, but the room was clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. In the evening there was a lot of people partying in the streets around the hotel during our stay (Friday and Saturday).

Clean and simple, comfortable bed and a good sized room.

The hotel is very centrally located for shopping, transit, and sightseeing. Very walkable. Easy to get to from the airport with two S-bahn options directly from the airport that take you only a 3 minute walk from the hotel.

Safe and secure with 24 hour desk and lift. Although the street is quite busy the room was very soundproof once the windows were closed.

I was only there for a short stay but would definitely stay again.

This hotel was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. And I am a frequent international traveler.

I would like to recognize the young lady who was at the front desk when I arrived, on 6 January 2025 around 23:00. She was extremely helpful and pleasant. She even went out of her way to iron out the wrinkles that were encountered, frankly, due to my carelessness. I do not remember her name, but she made my stay at this less-than-desirable property, a pleasant one.
