Great
Pros:

Excellent location in the city centre. The staff are very helpful and the room is comfortable. Bathroom and facilities are really good. I had a very pleasant stay. I would say however the cosy nest is slightly small for two people but perfect for one. Overall I was impressed and very happy.

Heart of the action in Dublin
Pros:

Small rooms, but efficient and luxurious amenities. If you are not organized with your packing you will be unhappy, but if you are you will love it! Great staff, checking in noted we had some larger suitcases so upgraded room at reduced rate. CLEAN, nice bathroom and shower. Great breakfast and small but nice bar. GREAT location right in the heart of sight seeing Dublin.

As Tiny as a Little Wren's Nest
Pros:

This was our first stop arriving in Ireland after a long flight from Hawai'i. The Wren Urban nest is a boutique hotel with no parking down St. Andrew's Lane in the heart of Dublin. We parked in a parking garage a couple of blocks away and had to drag our suitcases down the cobbled streets and narrow lanes of the city to reach The Wren.

There are a few things we found odd about this pricy little Nest. First of all there is no door man or attendant at the top of the steep flight of zigzag stairs that lead down to the front Lobby. Instead their is a door with a buzzer.
So you have two choices. Drag your luggage down the precarious cement staircase to the lobby which you can observe all bright and colorful, or press the buzzer at the top and wait. And I do mean wait, and wait and wait.
It was freezing cold and rainy and when no one responded to our summons, my daughter eventually left me with all the bags at the top and walked down the stairs to the lobby to check in.
Presently after about 15 minutes a lovely young woman appeared from a metal gate that swung open next to the door with the buzzer, no offer of help with the bags, and I was shown to a lift to take me to the lobby.
I must say our room was clean and tiny. The big cozy bed was flush against a small window and the foot and head of the bed was flush against the walls on either side. Not much larger than a shipping crate but modern, contemporary, and cosy.
The staff was polite and friendly other than one bizarre Indian gentleman at the front desk who was extremely rude one moment, and then massively polite the next as if he was wearing an invisible ear piece that was transmitting messages to him from an eye in the sky.

Great stay
Pros:

The hotel's location is truly fantastic. Everything is within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is good, with plenty of choices. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was quite small, though. We knew that beforehand, and after all, you're only there to sleep, but with two people, you can't move around.
The facilities, especially the shower, were fantastic.
So, if a large room isn't your thing, the Wren Urban Nest is the place to be.

Windows may be smaller than pictured & error between Booking and hotel resulted in downgrade
Pros:

I knew the room would be small, but photos showed large windows filling the far wall, making it feel open. My room, unfortunately, had a narrow window which stood at the foot of the bed, and the window could not be opened, both of which created a feeling of claustrophobia.

I asked reception if there was an alternate room in the same price with a wider window, per the listing, and explained that the room gave me claustrophobia. The receptionist responded that, according to their system, I had booked a "Snug" and there was nothing they could do. When I showed them my booking confirmation stating "Cozy Nest", they said that I must take the issue up with Booking.

The room was, fortunately, overlooking rooftops rather than walls of neighboring buildings. Temperature was comfortable, which was important with sealed windows. Rain shower with handheld and soap dish was nice, though hot water did not get very hot. Silent fan in restroom. Subdued, indirect lighting throughout facility as well as plants and soothing, natural colors. Electric kettle with mugs, teas, and bottled water. Small fold-out table and shelf around far wall. Polite, professional staff. Close to city center but quiet and reasonably secure.

For such an up-scale facility, it made the oversights stand out. A luggage rack but no space to expand it but the hall, which blocked both doorways. No wardrobe, just a single hanger which hangs right where you stand to use the sink. One hook inconveniently located in front of the outlets and no towel bar despite limited counter space and a blank wall above. Bathroom light accessed only via central digital panel unreachable from bathroom. No dimming or control of which lights are on/off.

So far both the hotel and Booking have blamed the other party for the booking error, yet offered nothing to explain it or reassure me that it wouldn't happen again. Nor has either party expressed any meaningful regret for the discomfort I experienced, at no trivial expense, due to an error not of my own making.

It is sad, because had the error not have occurred or been better addressed in the moment, I think I would have enjoyed the stay.

Cheap. Clean and great location but small room
Pros:

The room rate was very cheap for Dublin. It’s close to everything you need for a trip to Dublin. Parking right beside hotel. Very clean Modern. Staff very pleasant.
We booked a snug room and this is definitely for a couple or maybe sisters etc. Very small and no privacy so don’t book if you need your own privacy or space. Perfect for what I needed which was somewhere to sleep.

Highly Recommend
Pros:

Recently stayed with friends for a city break.
Rooms well designed, with everything you could need.
Staff were all so helpful, restuarant staff got my friend a cake as they noticed it was her Birthday. They all sang Happy Birthday.
There was a problem with the heating with my friend’s room, which was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We had lunch in the hotel on our last day, which was delicious. Everything at breakfast was fresh and locally sourced.
Will definitely return with my husband.
Great location and like home from home.

No reminder email after booking, I forgot about it and got charged full whack, I asked for partial refund or hotel credit, no go
Pros:

Been a regular customer for a few years, forgot about a booking I made 6 months ago, no reminder email at all from them after the booking. I explained the situation, didn't expect a full refund but thought at least a partial refund or hotel credit. Flat out no 'hard luck'. I accept it was my own fault but any other hotel I've booked you would always get a reminder email. I stay in Dublin multiple times a year but will not do it again at this hotel

Disappointed and over-charged on our honeymoon stay
Pros:

While a new and pretty hotel in a good location, we were quite disappointed with our honeymoon stay at Wren Urban Nest. We felt that multiple of the staff we interacted with were unfriendly and borderline rude - and indifferent.

A big issue was the lack of an itemized bill. We were overcharged for two different things, and only noticed through our own carefulness, which suggests to me that the same thing is happening to others but they aren’t carefully checking their charges.

We had pre-paid for an additional celebratory add-on (which included cake and a card to congratulate us on our honeymoon), which I only realized late on our final night at the hotel because I was re-checking our email confirmation. We had booked the hotel many months before so I had forgotten this! I mentioned it at the desk and requested that the fee be removed because it wasn’t honoured on our arrival. We were told this was not possible, and we asked if it would instead be possible to deduct the amount from what we had paid for breakfast that morning. We were told likewise that wasn’t possible, and so we would have to either eat the cost or eat the cake. If there had at least been an apology delivered with this news, that would have helped, but the rude night manager somehow made us feel like we were in the wrong and creating an inconvenience? This was frustrating, because had I not gone and checked the email confirmation and noticed this, it wouldn’t have been honoured. I’m wondering if we had paid for additional add-ons, if those also would not have been honoured. It was a small thing but the attitude, on top of the other annoyances, left us with a bad taste in our mouths. The slice of cake we were delivered half an hour later, sans-card, was not worth this cost or hassle.

Additionally, when we got home from our trip, I was checking my charges and saw that I had been charged for breakfast both mornings of our stay, even though we had only eaten breakfast there one morning. We were explicit about only booking for the one morning and yet over email after I wrote the hotel, we were told that there had been no request for only the one morning, and so breakfast was charged for the entirety of your stay. Happily after some back and forth we were refunded for the second breakfast (though there was a conversion charge so there was still effectively a small cost), but this second charge because of their lack of attention to detail was disappointing.

The rooms were also tiny, which we somewhat expected, but the sustainable mission of the hotel was not fully adhered to, so the size of the rooms didn’t feel justified. Every single main course on the menu was meat, with not even a vegetarian dish. You were able to request a vegan meal for breakfast, but the fact that it was an additional request rather than the norm was bizarre. What is the point of saving energy through use of the lights if your restaurant is serving steak?

We loved the idea of a sustainable hotel and splurged a bit because we felt it would be worth it, but the service, lack of attention to detail, and the size of the rooms didn’t justify it - nor did we feel that the hotel fulfilled its supposed goal.

Second stay!
Pros:

Second time staying at this hotel for two nights!

Hotel is in a great location, close by to all the pubs/shops but in a quiet location which is great!

1st time we stayed we had their smaller option of the 2 rooms available, this time we had the bigger size. Would recommend the bigger size room just for that extra bit of comfort when moving around if sharing with a partner/friend.

Visible dirt under the built in chest of drawers, other than that the room was really clean and modern. Unfortunately there was a draft coming from the window which made the room feel really cold, heating did eventually kick in during the night.

Overall, we would definitely stay at this hotel for a third time! Staff were friendly.

Staff was SUPER
Pros:

FAB location and incredibly quiet! We arrived a day early (my bad) and realized I had messed up our reservation. They did not have a room but managed to get us a room close by during the incredibly busy American football weekend. Also, they allowed us to store our luggage there so we did not have to cart it around. That was really excellent service. Toby the intern was fantastic and helped us move our luggage around. He was so sweet and friendly. Everyone made us feel really at home. My only single critique is only that the space is very small. If you have a lot of luggate (we had wedding dress/suits), you will constantly be juggling and losing things. We knew it was going to be small in advance but chose it due to sustainability and location.
