Hotel FAS & OFF Site Thermal Resort

Great choice for car drivers as gated parking lot. Very comfortable room with ac, fridge, good wifi and two beds and breakfast. Very helpful Mauricio advice and booking local park entrances. Would have missed somethings without his input. Included visit to thermal pools. A bit noisy from intermittent road traffic at night, but also able to walk everywhere as downtown La Fortuna. Inexpensive.

Very friendly family run business. Excellent breakfast and wonderfully presented. Loved the banana cake freshly made and unlimited cafe. Room was tiny but clean and good water in the shower. I liked the toilet paper dispenser!
*A safe would have been nice and a more secure door lock system from the inside.

Right in the centre of town, close to a good grocery store.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. If you want easy access to everything in La Fortuna, this place is great. And the breakfasts are to die for. All homemade by the owner's wife and she is an excellent cook!

It would have been nice to have somewhere comfortable to sit after a long day of adventuring.

Would definitely recommend to friends and family who would prefer a city/town experience and being immersed in the cutlure instead of staying at a resort. Sometimes a place to lay your head and access to delicious local dining options are the perfect solution!

Our host was the best. He took a lot of time to help us and got us special foods to try and showed us sloths that were near-bye. They all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Super clean and good drinking water, central to everything. Great prices and friendly/caring. The breakfast was homemade and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend. Would definitely return!

Cute little in town bed breakfast that has an offsite thermal pool where locals gather. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Friendly staff helped with tours and sight seeing options. Highly recommended.

A decent place situated in the middle of town, secure on site parking and super convenient.

I’ll break it up into two different categories.

Likes:
- It’s very convenient to the town of La Fortuna

Dislikes:
- I don’t know if it’s common, but maybe just the dates I was there. There was basically no one available at reception. I had questions regarding my check out and the answer I was given thank God I didn’t lock my hotel room because then I would’ve been locked inside the gate. And who knows when the front person would’ve showed up because I had to make my shuttle to the airport.
- It was like pulling teeth, trying to get new towels or asking them to clean my room because it seem like they didn’t want to.
- Due to the front person, not being at the desk, the free meal for breakfast that you offered I did not get for the third day.
- I also lost something that’s very important to me and I’ve tried my best to reach out to the hotel via phone email and through Expedia and have received no response.
- Yes, you have access to the offsite facilities, but how am I supposed to be able to use them if there’s no one at the front desk to help me.

So yes, it is a cheap place to stay. But that’s all it is.

Right in the heart of downtown, great for walking to food or shops.

The breakfast was down the street at a steak restaurant and was a cute location and yummy.

The off site thermal bath was so much fun. Think like a community pool but there are like 10 of them with differing thermal warmths. We went in the evening and there weren’t too many other people. Most of the time we had the whole pool to ourselves.

The exterior patios were a vibe. Loved them.

The room itself was pretty decent. The AC was nice. The road can get kind of loud while trying to sleep, so light sleepers might have problems with that.

We enjoyed the breakfast and especially the Thermal resort which was also included in a hotel room reservation. Loved the staff !!!!! Thank you 🙏

Excellent place to stay. Situated in the middle of town. Great breakfast included with private and protected parking. The family that runs this place is wonderful. Try The Green Spoon across the street, you will not be disappointed.

The room was small but perfect for 3 people to sleep. It is right downtown so everything was in walking distance.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Very helpful in arranging tours and transportation. Nice breakfast and geothermal facilities

The people who worked there were great, the room was decent for a night or twobut it was so loud outside that we couldn’t sleep. We had to quickly book this due to cancellation from our other hotel but had to find some where else to go to. The air conditioning wasn’t very strong and it ran into the shower so the shower floor was always wet and it felt unclean.

Very nice place

The staff at this place were fantastic, very helpful & family oriented people. This is a minimalistic hotel, we did not like the bathroom, the sink & mirror are out of whack, hot water was a problem, even after they supposedly fixed it, there was barely any hot water. This hotel is located in the heart of things, very convenient to go to restaurants, stores, attractions.
They were in the middle of renovating this place, so hopefully in a months time (around April 2024), they will have resolved some of the problems

They only give two thin towels. The rooms are humid so the towels do not dry and you cannot ask for more. They do not replace the foot towel. The walls are not soundproof so you can easily hear loud neighbors. One day, they locked the parking gate so we could not get back in. They give breakfast (made to order) at La Vid Steakhouse from 7-11am, which was very nice. They have access to three thermal resorts from 9am-9pm (relax termalitas, termalitas de arenal, termales los laureles). You have to bring your own towel to the thermal pools. They have a small gravel parking lot which is very hard to park in. The location is nice and near a lot of restaurants and markets.
