Rundown drug hotel with horrible manager

If I could give Wind Water Hotel & Marina zero stars, I would.

This place is an absolute disgrace and should be embarrassed to call itself a hotel.

My husband and I booked a room for Memorial Day weekend through Booking.com and were charged $220. What we found when we arrived was not a hotel—it was a rundown, filthy dump that looked nothing like what was advertised online.

The first room smelled so strongly of chemicals and drug odors that we immediately walked back out. We were then moved to a second room, which somehow managed to be even worse. The smell was overwhelming and completely unacceptable. Their solution? Move us to a third room across the pool that smelled like mildew, moisture, and neglect.

Three rooms. Three disgusting experiences.

At that point it became obvious that this property has serious issues and that management either doesn't care or has become so accustomed to the conditions that they think they're normal.

To make matters worse, I was pregnant at the time. There was absolutely no way I was going to spend the night in a room that smelled like drugs, mold, and mildew. Any reasonable person would have left immediately, just as we did.

When we requested a refund, the front desk told us to call Booking.com. Booking.com then informed us they needed approval from the hotel. The hotel conveniently ignored Booking.com's calls and emails, leaving us trapped in an endless cycle of excuses and finger-pointing. It was obvious nobody wanted to take responsibility.

The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns about the condition of the property, she acted like we were the problem.

The hotel loves to hide behind its "no refund" policy. Here's the problem with that: a no-refund policy applies when a guest changes their mind, cancels, or doesn't show up. We showed up.

Room had mold from moisture and floor was always sweaty from the moisture that almost caused us to slip so we used the pool towels to constantly wipe down the floor to prevent falls. Bath towels were only provided at the beginning of stay and replaced with pool towels after that.
