Direkt im Zentrum und am Hafen. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Gutes Essen. Gutes Zimmer. Parkplatz direkt nebenan.
Comfortable room with a good en-suite. Really good breakfast.
The room could have been a little bigger
Breakfast was excellent the full Scottish highly recommended and plenty of other choices available. Room was a twin single which was only booking option available at the time but served purpose. Would have preferred a KS Dble. View from room was of the car park but not staying to gaze out of the bedroom window. Location off main harbour road but central to all main parts of Ullapool.
On this occasion one of the dishes (my daughters) Macaroni Cheese had split sauce probably from frozen but removed from bill, and our chicken burgers were nothing to write home about. Only ate there 1 night but being out of season this probably had an impact on the food quality and availability. From previous knowledge there is plenty of alternative good dining in Ullapool but the town does shut down until mid-Feb, just before we left.
The room was clean
It is a basic hotel, the room was small and slightly rough around the edges
Good access to car park, particularly with a dog. Location also great.
Really dog friendly and made eating with separate areas in the bar and restaurant simple. However there was a guest with a dog who sat the dog at the table. It also ran round without a lead without any of the staff saying anything. Dog friendly is great, but dogs should not be allowed to run round the buffet area, bar area or sat at a table whilst others are eating (we had two dogs with us on our stay, so say this as dog lovers).
Our stay was very short as we had to catch the early morning ferry to Stornoway. However, the experience was very positive. Our flight was delayed, so we contacted the hotel in advance, and they responded very quickly with clear guidance on our arrival. Everything went smoothly after that. The staff were helpful and efficient, which made our quick overnight stay stress-free. A great option if you need a convenient stop before taking the ferry.
If I had to mention something negative, it would only be that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the hotel and its facilities because our visit was so quick. Otherwise, everything went well and the staff were very helpful.
I would definitely stay here again when passing through Ullapool.
Much improved rooms with clean tea coffee making and a few biscuits well done Caledonian
Free car parking - with relatively cheap electric charging
Bar and restaurant with nice staff
Ullapool front is much improved as well
Breakfast £30 for the 2 off us - not good value at all
Check in 4 pm a bit late for me -
Avoid seaforth bar/restaurant expensive with automatic service charges - £9 a pint
Staff were VERY nice, well mannered and helpful .
We found nothing not to like
Good location, rooms for solo traveler adequate although small
The receptionist refused to check me in as it was 2 hours before 4 pm.
Found out later, she was going home and was feeling tired
The hotel has an open plan set up with a coffee shop and a Bistro bar.
I had my border collie and although hotel and Bistro is dog friendly, breakfast restauarant and Coffee cafe ARE NOT.
Cafe staff literally sprinted to shoo me out of cafe. It would be useful if they displayed no dog allowed signs.
Not sure what the issue is in cafe that is literally open plan with rest of hotel. There is no law to prevent dogs in cafes, upto owner, but if your owned by hotel just have one ruke throughout
Great spot and fab staff
friendly staff
Great place - lovely team.
We stay in the Caledonian a few times a year on the way over to the isle of lewis. Its great after a long journey up north, the bar restaurant always serves great food and the breakfast is high quality. The staff are always helpful.
