Too expensive during peak season.
Pros:

The free breakfast was good and well maintained.

Cons:

Being there a peak season, the $100 per night rooms were $300 per night. For $300 per night, one expects superior beds and linens, but that was not the case. It would have been a great deal at $100, $300 was way too much. I understand supply and demand, but it the room cost triples, at least provide a shuttle to historic Galena as part of the rate as it is a hard hilly walk downtown from the Motel.

So so. Pay the extra money and stay downtown
Pros:

Good location to where we were going. Breakfast was decent for hotel food. The window opens so it was nice of an evening.

Cons:

The beds were hard as a rock. The air conditioner was so loud and even having it run the room never got cooled off. The toilet was loud and stayed running for several mins after flushing. When I booked online i paid for 2 beds with a couch but that’s not what we got.

DO NOT STAY HERE- Terrible Experience

Do not be fooled by the lobby. The front desk area looks clean and has a nice, fresh scent, but it is a complete trap. The second you walk into the guest hallways, the air turns into a heavy stench of stale cigarette smoke.
We only stayed for two nights, and it was a nightmare. The rooms are simply not cleaned. We found massive amounts of mouse poop everywhere: on the bed, behind the TV, on the lamp nightstands, on the coffee machine and all along the window ledge. It was absolutely disgusting.
On our last night, we couldn’t sleep at all because the mouse was actively running around the room, disturbing us. We were actually able to inspect the room and found three holes in the walls of where it was coming in and out from.
I was told I would receive a one night refund and nothing has been done about that. They are liars. I’ve tried to speak with the managers and never have been put to speak with them. They just take my message and say they will pass it on. I have received no refund, they are liars.

Stay was ok. But not worth the cost (Labor day hyped up pricing)
Pros:

Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Staff was cordial.

Cons:

Pool area was not maintained. There was dripping from the roof into the hot tub. There was a curtain that takes covers the opening or the connection to the outside pool and that was old and filthy. Pool floor outdoor pool needs a touch up as there were a lot of black patches. Rooms had a strong odor…like someone smoked there and the fragrance was masking the smell.

The room was decorated nicely. The breakfast was good.

The room was nice and comfortable. The only problem was with the shower. It did not drain well. The water was up to my ankles after running the water for 1 minute.
