Hotel is in a lovely setting. Beautiful scenery. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel was very nice. Two restaurants which we eat in very good. Treated ourselves to a spa day, glad we did. Look forward to coming back.
The Spa at Low Wood Bay was amazing. from the facitlies, the service and even the stormy weather. Just what we needed
From start to finish pure perfection. Hands down the best Spa i have ever been to. The addition of the new face masks lounge is amazing.
Th perfect little getaway, outdoor spa is just bliss with views over Windermere and the blue smoke restaurant was also a highlight! Wonderful place! We love it!!!
Facilities and staff were excellent and not too busy. We stayed at the Winander club and have stayed at the older section before. Old section is nice but Winander definitely worth the extra money. We will definitely be returning.
The low wood spa is my favorite local spa. The service is great and the facilities are wonderful. We have been numerous times
Was visiting Low Wood for the first time for a charity event - took the opportunity to book into the Spa during the day and stayed overnight as a solo guest for a bit of respite!
The hotel is in a stunning location overlooking Windermere, and the spa was excellent - it is probably better suited to groups/couples than a solo, as the stand out feature seems to be amazing cocktails served in the warm infinity pool overlooking the lake.
The staff bring round little platters of tiffin and nibbles which I think was a thoughtful touch and memorable attention to detail.
Breakfast the next day was lovely and all staff were cheerful and helpful.
I will definitely come back, but next time I'll probably bring a couple of friends and enjoy the cocktails in the spa!
Top tip - book direct, parking is then free instead of £12 and they have good deals with a bottle of prosecco/breakfast included.
A fantastic trip!!
We were blown away by the accommodation and standards of the winander club building and spent most of our trip in the residents lounge.
We were delighted with our club lime room which was spotlessly clean with so many additional extras making it worthy of the price and paying for the exclusivity of the winander club building.
I would highly recommend upgrading to be in the building as the difference between the main hotel rooms and new accommodation is significant.
We were originally in a lime room in the main building whoever paid to upgrade to the new winander.
The lake view rooms in original hotel were noisy and this was main reason for us moving.
We ate in the main restaurant 1 of the evening however being honest we much preferred the menu of the bar and room service.
The service received from staff was fantastic particularly the reception manageress who went above and beyond to assist us moving rooms and planning our stay.
The bar staff in winander also deserve a shout out as it was lovely to chat to them and he made us fee so special.
We booked a spa day and paid for the additional so experience outside which was definitely worth the money.
The different spa areas were great and it never felt uncomfortable or on top of each other when using the hot tubs etc.
the amount of additional extras received were amazing including hot chocolates and brownies all brought to us whilst enjoying the spa.
The original spa area including indoor pool and changing facilities is however dated in comparison and it’s worth noting that residents can only use these facilities certain hours during the day which was a let down. The changing area in the new spa areas is far too small and difficult to change at peak hours. Only Critiscm to note however. The room service menu was fantastic and we enjoyed the pizzas particularly. We will definitely return. Thank you to the manager snd staff we had an amazing girls trip away!
We love Low Wood having got married there and we go back regularly. The rooms and spa were lovely.
However, dinner in the W restaurant was insufficient, I’m not a big fella but four chips and a tiny piece of beef for £32 is inadequate. What I did get was delicious but having to eat a packet of biscuits back in the room really isn’t on.
The spa experience was wonderful, myself & my husband went for the Twilight package to celebrate both of our birthdays. Next time we will just book the spa experience and choose our own option of restaurant choice and menu. Over all a very happy experience!
We visit Low Wood bay at least twice a year. It is only an hour for us, but we will not go anywhere else now. It is on the more expensive side, and sadly we can't afford to do it more often, but it is worth every penny. The range of facilities and areas makes even a 3 hour thermal journey not long enough. The attention to detail and the attentiveness of the staff is second to none. We have stayed overnight, had treatments, had afternoon tea, eaten in the restuarant during the day, and at night and could not fault any of it.
Had a half day spa package to celebrate my birthday. As a solo visitor I never felt uncomfortable despite most others being in couples or groups. Every staff member I came across was very friendly. I particularly enjoyed the face mask bar and all the delicious nibbles available, and the free mini hot chocolate at the outdoor pool was a lovely touch. This is definitely one of the best spas I have visited.
The staff are friendly and attentive, the bedrooms spotless and very comfortable.
Spa experience was magical as we watched the sunset over Windermere from the outside heated pool.
The food in both restaurants and the breakfast area was fantastic and very tasty.
The whole stay was just what we needed to chill for a couple of days, with the bonus of some sunshine.
I couldn’t fault anything about the spa. The facilities were varied, well maintained and never crowded. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My friend and I had the perfect, relaxing afternoon.
Make sure you take flip flops you can buy at the Spa reception if you forget, you can also purchase swimwear, Definately have a massage or treatment.
Lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Stayed in a lime room and was lucky enough to have a view of the lake. Food in both restaurants is amazing although not cheap and not for fussy eaters. 3hour thermal spa is definitely worth the money. We will certainly stay here again
The Spa at Low Wood Bay is amazing. The views are stunning from the outside infinity pools. All areas of the Spa are fabulous, with lots of different rooms to choose from. It is so relaxing and the staff are lovely and friendly.
Lovely room but was let down with the spa experience very bad.
Having to book the outside spa when I had paid a lot of money for the room made no sense what so ever never have i paid for a spa hotel and not been allowed to experience the spa freely
On the whole this was a lovely stay - the spa was outstanding as was the staff and the meal in the Blue Smoke was fabulous as was our waiter
The spa and hotel are lovely, wonderful location with breathtaking views. Really helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast.
But - be warned there is no savoury or healthy food available in the spa and they don't allow room service from the bar to get anything like a sandwich. It would take too long to go out of the sofa, order, wait and eat then return - you would be wasting time better spent in the spa as it's only 3 hour sessions. They have sweets and cakes for free, and you can buy very little things like crisps. So make sure you eat before you go, 3 hours if you have diabetes or particular dietary requirements is a long time to go without eating especially if it's over lunch!
Also, the Blue Smoke restaurant is far nicer for lunch or dinner than the W. Our food at the W was a bit tasteless and too expensive. The ambience isn't great. Although it's fine for breakfast which was a good selection and nice food.
We also had a dirty loo brush in our room on arrival which was disappointing, and the cannon at cocktail hour never happened, which was disappointing.
Although overall the positives of this place far outweigh the negatives, just thought my experience might help others in their visit.
