Great location directly across from Ipanema Beach near Posto 9. The breakfast is solid — bacon, eggs, good fruit selection. The rooftop pool is small but the views from up there are stunning. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Good value for the location.

Nice hotel with a top location. We stayed in the sea view suite and spent a wonderful weekend there during carnival. The hotel is definitely in need of a retrofit but the stay was still extremely pleasant. 5 stars views from the pool
We were there to spend Carnaval in Brazil. The breakfast which includes cheesecake, flan cake, pound cake, cookies, crisp bacon, fresh fruits- papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, kiwi, all sweet, even the kiwi- is out of this world. So far this is the best breakfast I've had at a hotel. The restaurant equally has wonderful meal-though a bit smaller on the portion size if you're a ravenous teenager. The access to the ocean is a big, big plus.
The room was a bit small given the amount of money I spent.
One note: make sure you bring a plug adapter. Brazil uses a different plug (type N) than the United States (Type A and B).
There is NO USB connection to charge your phone in the room! At least not in my room. Beware! While scouting for connections, we saw a couple of USB connections in the lobby of the hotel. Not ideal, again given how pricey the hotel is. I debated giving a 4 stars for that and the size of the room, but everything else was just great!
The hotel is one block and half from the metro making it very accessible.
The location, room cleaning service, inclusion of beach chair, towels, and umbrella for the beach, the shower, and the bed.
The size of the rooftop and the pool was extremely small.
