Perfect location, perfect staff, perfect stay
Pros:

Extremely convenient for my visit to Newport.
Staff are really friendly and helpful. Very welcoming.

Cons:

Only downer was the menu in the restaurant. Was limited, not to our liking and ended up ordering from the bar menu which was excellent.

Pros:

Dissapointing
Pros:

Haven't been for a few months but visited on Saturday and have to say things are not so good.
An illuminated sign above the bar proclaiming the words Café Ash 'N Bar, but the only word that springs to mind is "Tacky". A place like The Parkway doesn't need this type of thing.
Most if not all of the drinks on tap have changed but not a lager or cider that I like.
For a long time there were at least 5 vacant tables that had not been cleared and bits of food/rubbish on the floor also our table needed a good wipe.
All in all a definite down turn in class since change of ownership.

Overall a nice hotel with good facilities with improvements to coffee served it would be even better
Pros:

Nice dining environment

Cons:

Coffee was very poor. So strong you could stand a spoon up in it served at every breakfast.
There should be a dessert or ice cream served in the bar area with meals
Again the quality of a cappuccino was poor and more like a milky coffee

Not a happy bunch
Pros:

I visit regularly with friends for morning coffee. There has always been one particular member of staff who doesn’t appear to enjoy her job, we’ve chuckled amongst ourselves about this…however, this attitude seems to have transferred to all the staff in the cafe bar. From till service to receiving our drinks.

What a miserable bunch! Our table was dirty from previous customers and the waiter was about to put our drinks on the table. I politely asked if he could clean it first and remove empty biscuit wrappers and dirty napkins, he sighed and then got cleaning items! Our drinks were then plonked down on the table. He wasn’t very happy.

The cappuccino’s were luke warm and tasteless. What has happened? Is it the new owners of the hotel?

Enjoyable and relaxing.
Pros:

It is comfortable, spacious, with good facilities. Liked the Welsh themes. Good standards of housekeeping (both spa and rooms). Good customer service standards (reception and bar). Good food and catering. Friday night pianist was lovely. Lovely grounds and good parking. Port Cochere is very helpful. Open fire is special.

Cons:

Nothing material. Just needs a little bit of maintenance. I wouldn’t make major changes.

Not staying again
Pros:

Nothing.

Cons:

The staff looked like they didn't know what they were doing and couldn't find our reservation on arrival. The room was dusty and the TV didn't work properly, the bedsheets were ripped and very starchy so like cardboard to sleep with and the mattress was so uncomfortable. The meals and drinks were very much over priced. The swimming pool area looked dirty so we didn't use it. A lot of facilities we couldn't use due to refurbishment. I don't think we will be staying here again.
