A comfortable hotel with more character than the usual chain motorway offering and an excellent evening meal.
Pros:

Booked this as a stopover on the way to Northern Scotland. It was easy to find an only a few minutes from the motorway.

Cons:

No lift, but we were offered assistance with our luggage.

My stay was enjoyable: a QUALIFIED success.
Pros:

The reception was welcoming. My room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

There was no evening meal available in the hotel; this might not have been a problem had other eating establishments been plentiful - however, as it was a Sunday, many were closed.
I couldn’t not operate the shower to produce water! I later found a printed guide (apparently much used) in the information folder, but even then i couldn’t get it to work.

Quality hotel in a lovely Borders Town.
Pros:

Lovely hotel, welcoming and friendly staff, set in the centre of Moffatt, which is very pretty. We were upgraded to Room 1, which was a lovely, spacious and well-equipped room. Nicely decorated public areas with pretty gardens. Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

Sadly, my dinner that evening was poor, I complained and wasn't charged, thankfully. My husband's dinner was fine though so maybe the chef had a bad evening.

A really nice hotel
Pros:

A well presented, interesting, clean and very comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. And the food is very good too.

Cons:

The only thing that struck me, we were in room 14 up a back staircase, was that, if that staircase had a fire, we'd be toast! The only fire exit from the rooms on this corridor is back down that stair case. There is a fire extinguisher on the landing outside the room....did I know how to use it??

Lovely hotel great location but the cost of the overnight didn't match the experience.
Pros:

The hotel is very impressive from the outside but also very beautiful inside.
The staff were helpful and the restaurant food was excellent.

Cons:

I felt the room was on the small side for the price paid and as we were on the second floor it may not be suitable for an ageing guest. We are fit and caused no problem for us but I think this needs to be made very clear to people booking.

A really good stop over on my trip further north.
Pros:

Location, room, staff and breakfast were all really good. I couldn’t fault it. I also like that it is dog friendly.
