Nothing 🤷♀️
Everything was lovely.
Nothing
Location, exceptional staff. We could not have been looked after any better, they really went the extra mile to make our stay special.
Nothing
The setting is lovely. Ponies on the lawns right outside the hotel. Very welcoming staff. Good food options particularly breakfast. Nice little pool
Great friendly staff. Lovely building. Good location . Very good choice of food at breakfast. Quality food in restaurant.
Some dust on some of the room surfaces. Could do with a few more dishes on evening menu
Everything was great. Can't praise it highly enough. Celebrated my partner's 70th birthday and the flowers that i ordered were lovely and waiting in the room.
The fact that you couldn't make your tea and let it brew in a pot. I would be nice to have your pot and small jug of milk.
My partner and I stayed here over the weekend for two nights, the hotel is lovely, caught our eye as soon as it was visible from the main road, staff incredible, so helpful and friendly, breakfast was brilliant, great selection of flavourful foods, and brilliant destination, close to villages, areas for long country walks/rides (both bike and horse), close to local pubs and restaurant, we will definitely come back
My one and only grumble really is to do with the spa and health facilities…
no gym, or anything dedicated to working out, pools are tiny, both in and out, lots of children jumping around, felt like there could have been some more adult/children dedicated times, if there was more than 3 people in the pool, it felt crowded.
The spa costing £30pp per day, is not worth the money at all, it is extremely over priced for what it is, there also should be a better deal if you are staying for a few days to be able to either include it for the whole weekend, or one payment and you can use it when you want, 2 people for 3 days £60 a day is an extra £180, it’s nice to have but it’s a sauna and steam, you won’t get much more than a 45 minute visit until you’re done. And I seemed to get the vibe the cost was being pushed, no one told us you can do 24hours from the time you start, until we enquires this with the spa staff, it’s was very ‘nope, £30pp per day’ until then.
Location
Dirty drab room
Lovely location in the new forest. Helpful and friendly staff, comfy room and a great breakfast.
Room a bit pokey and no view.
Location
Hotel room looked tired bed was uncomfortable and pillows were terrible
We chose your hotel (Balmers Lawn) to spend the weekend celebrating my wifes 70th birthday having spent a weekend here on our anniversary the previous year. Breakfast was very good, the staff were amazing and location absolutely idyllic.
However we reported to reception that in our room (55) our wash basin has a large crack in it. The first night (Friday) our bed began to separate and we found the mechanical brackets top and bottom had not been used to fix the bases together, and the wing nuts were wound right in so it was obvious the brackets had not simply come loose but had never been connected and had to do ourselves in recently hours of the morning. We noticed when moving the bases that the carpet under the bed was absolutely appalling it had not been hoovered for somewhere and included cut paper, an ear plug and much detritus, pictures We reported this to reception the following morning with photos. Interventionist appeared directors this and apologised. On our return the carpet beneath the bed had been hovered.
