Was a nice location
Very disappointing experience
Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel and restaurant was extremely disappointing.
The problems started with the hotel room. The toilet was constantly running, and when we turned on the shower, water was leaking everywhere.
The restaurant experience was also very poor. When we were first seated, the table was not clean. I ordered Coca-Cola but was brought Diet Coke instead. We asked for a pencil for my little daughter so she could complete the kids’ menu, but the pencil never arrived.
When our food arrived, I found a piece of bone in my burger. I nearly choked on it, which was extremely frightening and completely unacceptable.
We also asked for ketchup and mayonnaise, but neither ever arrived. Nobody came back to our table to check whether everything was okay or whether we needed anything else.
When we asked for the bill, we waited around 20 minutes, and eventually I had to go inside myself because nobody came to us so that we could pay.
What made this even more disappointing is that we were there to celebrate my birthday with my daughter. I had hoped it would be a lovely and memorable experience, but unfortunately, it turned into a very stressful and disappointing evening.
By the end, I was so disappointed and put off by the whole experience that we didn’t even order dessert to celebrate my birthday, which we had originally planned to do.
Overall, the experience was poor from start to finish. For the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, food safety and customer service.
Sadly, we will not be returning.
Clean, good breakfast
We stayed here in the 90s and it has hardly been updated!
There is a shower over the bath which wasn’t very powerful.
No air con, just a very noisy fan which wasn’t great for a restful night’s sleep. No coffee machine, just a kettle and I had to ask for tea bags.
Seems you have to pay a premium in the summer to stay anywhere in the New Forest, judging by the reviews …
The room 25 was lovely and spacious. All areas of the hotel were well kept and welcoming. Loved the pools and the spa. Food was excellent
The change for dogs was enormous for our tiny cockapoos. Very expensive sausages they had. The charge should be reduced for small non shedding breeds. £10 per night would have been enough

Great location, bar and pools were cool
Arrived to be told restaurant was closed from 7 for a private bbq. No prior notice so we could arrange alternative dinner.
Room was very small with very poor bathroom.
Very hot but nice fan in room, however in the morning we found the shower would only work on scorching hot and shower head wouldn’t stay in place so we couldn’t have a shower! (Room 21)
Breakfast was quite chaotic. Had to have a table in the lobby and breakfast items were allowed to run out with long period waiting to be resupplied.
The room and Spa facilities were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the experience this hotel offers.

Ambience and staff all happy and helpful
The hotel is dog friendly and I understand that but it absolutely stinks as you walk in the breakfast was awful and there was dirty room service plates left in the lift
The smell of dogs was disgusting the cleanness and the food (breakfast) was awful stink of fat and tasted awful
Lovely spacious clean rooms, staff were extremely friendly, would definitely stay there again or recommend.
Drinks service was extremely slow and the amount of dirty glasses on the bar was unbelievable.

Dinner waiting service seemed slow at times and inattentive. Food was good and well timed for delivery.
Loved the bar seating areas outside the front on a lovely summers day.

Rezeption war wirklich sehr nett.
Selten so viel Schmutz gesehen - Zimmer und Allgemeinbereiche. Soviel Dreck sammelt sich erst nach einiger Zeit an. Preis ***** aber Hotel ***S wobei "S" für Schmutz steht!
Pools were great - we booked for the pools. Good that pool opening times were opened until 9pm. Could open until 10pm.
Aircon in room would have made it more comfortable in the summer heat, although two fans were provided. Bathroom was a bit tired and could be modernised. Could have been a Premier Inn standard.
Check out was too early - 10:30. We were woken by housekeeping because we thought it was later.
Food service closed too early - 9pm. We struggled to find food after walking around we had to get food from a small Tesco. I would at least expect room service at a hotel of this size and standard, even if menu is limited.
