Any reviews should always start with good information before you get to the concerning information. I’m 53 years old and I’ve been staying in hotels off and on my whole life I have seen the good and the bad and from the outward appearance the avid hotel I stayed in with my daughter in Perry Georgia Friday evening into Saturday the 14th is a beautiful establishment. Seems to be new on the market very clean, modern charging stations for devices everywhere and well maintained. As mentioned in previous posts and reviews people mentioned that it is a Spartan surrounding and does not accommodate the high-end crowd. Avid is meant for exactly what most people use hotels for a comfortable, clean bed a hot shower and if on a business trip a place to put your laptop and work. As you will see contained in the pictures below one of the things right out of the gate that concerned me about my stay was this hundred dollar incidental fee which the clerk at the desk assured me was not actually going to be deducted from my account it was just a “hold” just in case something occurred. I wasn’t overly happy with this and figure as long as I got a receipt I would be OK. Then this clerk very adamantly informed me there was no receipt or email to be had for the fact that he just put $100 hold on my debit card and that it would not be taken from the account I should’ve left, gotten a refund for my overpriced room at $141 and found another place nearby which they were plenty but I just rolled my eyes and went to my room and within the hour, checked my banking account to find it in fact, $100 had been taken! To be completely honest when I checked out today once again asking for a receipt or an email and was told again that I would not be getting one and it was not something they provided. I informed the clerk they would never see me again, which you will not. To be completely fair I checked my account and within two hours the money had been returned. On a couple of other concerns.

It was new and clean, nicely equipped, the gym was phenomenal especially for a hotel of this category, and the breakfast room was bright and airy, nothing like the dark, windowless breakfast rooms of similar hotels. The room and bathroom were spacious and uplifting. It was convenient to the highway so each to get to.
The toilet sounded like it was running but it was a minor thing in the general scheme of my stay.

There were plenty of men that I assume lived at the hotel out hanging out around the hotel with grills outside all time of the night partying. The bathrooms in The rooms were not as clean, it looked as if someone had half cleaned it. Dirty build up around the shower , even around the tops of the shampoo bottles, ground if the shower soreness very dengy! I showered with my crocs on I was so disgusted! If I had to stay there for more that 1 night I would’ve done an early checkout ! My finance woke up with a huge cyst looking bump on his thigh that was not there prior to us arriving so I assume the sheets were not cleaned properly either. He has really sensitive skin so when something is wrong his skin will tell it. I never write reviews but I was so disgusted by this hotel I had to speak on it to warn others ! The photos had me fooled
Staff was super friendly.
The 2nd floor hallway has an awful smell and the elevation didn’t. The carpet and walls in the hallways were not clean at all and didn’t appear to have ever been cleaned.
