A little bit sus
Pros:

Restaurant was good.

Cons:

When i checked in i was handed a bill that was much more expensive that the booking.com price. When i disputed this price, i was told the problem was i did not understand dollars the euro conversion. When i dissagreed, suddenly the correct, already printed, invoice was produced. Is this how things are supposed to work?

Incredible stay
Pros:

We loved everything about this hotel. The location was good. The Royal Suite was the perfect place to relax after a full day’s sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Great for the price
Pros:

Front desk were very helpful with a number of requests. Food was really good, especially the local cuisine.... although breakfast was average.
Good easy to find location for hotel, entertainment was fun.

Cons:

Just some minor points.....why does a 5 star hotel have tatty, stained, paper menus? So simple and cheap to print some plastic ones.
Some areas are a bit scruffy, and the swimming pool was unusably cold.

Perfect place to rest
Pros:

Staff were very helpful and really nice people, from the staff at reception to the guy directing the cars out the front they were all great, the whole place was just perfect for us

I am really struggling to come up with even s suggestion. So im not going to put something for the sake of it

Les urge un chofer que hable ingles para conocer la Ciudad e ir a lugares de interés, no ponen mucho énfasis en eso y es frustrante no poder comunicarte. Nos toco día de elecciones y no hay ningún servicio todo cierra los monumentos y no hay taxis esta prohibido; el hotel podría cooperar teniendo bicicletas, organizar eventos culturales bailes típicos, etc, no se mueven, no sugieren nada escaso ingles en recepción algunas veces....

Helt fantastisk service!
Pros:

Dette hotellet er helt fantastisk. Rommene er fine og det er veldig god mat i restauranten. Rent og pent. De ansatte er helt fantastiske. Vi har reist mye, til mange forskellige land og har erfaring med hundrevis av hoteller. Jeg har aldri opplevd så god service som vi fikk på dette hotellet. Tusen takk for at dere gjorde reisen vår til Nepal til en uforglemmelig opplevelse!

Great hospitality! But also noisy
Pros:

Basera Boutique Hotel offers first class hospitality, in terms of their professional, courteous staff, and wonderful restaurants. The hotel is beautifully designed, with lovely live plants, comfortable seating in every public space, and traditional Nepalese carved wooden sculptures/art displayed throughout. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed use of their spa services. (If you are a fan of deep tissue massage, do be aware that these petite ladies are VERY strong. You may need a translator to request less pressure.) We highly recommend this hotel, for the superb food and sweet staff.

Cons:

The hotel is located is central Thamel, and therefore, pretty loud for most of the day. You will hear vehicle traffic between 10 am-6 pm daily.

Secondly, the hotel offers a cultural dance show in the evenings after 7 pm. They use two large loud speakers, which offer a volume well beyond what anyone in the restaurant requires to hear the show.
Every time we dined in the upstairs restaurant, we had to request that the volume be turned down. As soon as we left, the volume went back up. Our room was on the floor beneath the restaurant, and the noise was actually too much. The dance program runs as late as 10 pm.
This issue with music volume is the main reason Basera Boutique did not get a higher rating from us.
If you are noise sensitive, we recommend that you stay on a lower floor.

Pros:

The staffs were very helpful. Mr Rashil were very generous to help us book activities, solved different issues we faced there and he was very cooperative. We had a wonderful time in Kathmandu.
