It was very close to the University of Toronto, clean, and affordable and the staff was very accommodating.
How you check in isn’t very clear so you need to make note of the phone number to contact someone.
Location was great
Parking nearby was good
Close to down town
Bed was comfortable
Room was spacious
Bathroom was nice and ckean
It would be nice to have cups for coffee made of china not paper
A couple of cookies would have been a nice touch
Regular tea not earl grey
A small container of milk would also have been nice instead of coffee mate
I was only there for one night from 4:00pm to 8:50 Am the next morning before leaving for early breakfast and getting ready for 11 Am check-out time. Staff was pleasent and helpful. And accommodated me with later check-out time as I needed it. I live close to the hotel in the neighbourhood.
The room I chose online was not available when I arrived at the hotel, the first room I was given on the first floor was very nice and clean, but main heating of the room was broken. Fireplace was working, an additional space heater was provided for me, but the room still remain too cold me, so I was moved a 2nd. 3rd floor room where heat was much better and normal, but environmental allergies started to actup so I had a restless night, woke up early to get tready to check out. Spoke with the hotel staff about. They were polite and did the best they could. I had dinner at their pub and resturant. It was okay.
Clean, comfy bed, courteous staff, great price.
No hot water. Shower selector broken. Door didn't deadbolt
Front desk staff was great. Super helpful on check in and questions I had
Some people might find the place a bit dated. It's clean. It's comfy. Basement level you hear subway noise but that didn't bother us. Plus it's the TTC and stops at like midnight lol
The location was perfect for my needs. I saw little of the staff but they were helpful with a few questions I had.
The furniture in the room was in a poor state most draws didn’t have handles. The drawers could do with vacuuming especially the drawer with the empty box for a vibrator and packaging for tights (admittedly of more use for someone than a bible but still not impressive).
The location is excellent, offering easy access to everything we needed. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We stayed in the semi-basement room, which wasn’t the most ideal experience. On some nights, there was noticeable noise from people outside the nearby pub, which affected the overall quietness.
My anti bacterial cream was disappear after cleaning service. Very disappointing
I loved the beautifully preserved woodwork, the eclectic layout of the building and the quiet room
It could have been helpful for the checkin location to be a little more clear. But the staff were really friendly and helpful
The neighborhood is okay. Metro nearby. Nice stylish house and interior.
No breakfast service before 11:00.
Air conditioning worked more than well, making a lot of noise cycling on/off every five minutes (also during night time), not being able to shut it off.
Light in the room can't be turned on directly after the room door (unpleasant when you return at night).
Dirty windows. An abandoned coffee cup not cleaned up.
Room was spacious enough, comfortable, big enough bathroom, enough closet space. Coffee machine worked well. Check-in was smooth. Very centrally located (but I knew that in advance).
Television instructions were in Spanish for some reason. Noise was a major factor, the room was just across from the pub and sound barrier was not perfect. Neighbourhood is a bit sketchy, lots of street people around and construction has obliterated much of the nearby stores. Room was on the fourth floor, a lot of stairs up and then stairs down again to Room 407 (if they offer you rooms 406 or 407, ask for another one!).
The location is great. It’s out of the major downtown core but still close enough to get there easily. Beautiful neighborhood. Great for walks. It’s a beautiful old manor that has been kept in prestige condition. It’s attached to a large popular bar and we didn’t have to wait in line because we were hotel guests. Mind you, the bar is a student haven so it’s a younger crowd. If you’re young or young at heart, it’s a great place. Sitting and singing at the piano bar was a fun night with my son. The hotel is beautiful on the outside and inside. A mansion style building which brings you back in time. Careful you don’t get lost inside. Lots of different stairways which gives it historical character.
If you can’t do stairs, this hotel is not for you. I recommend that you ask for the lower level. The rooms are comfortable but a little on the small side. Our room did not have a mini fridge which would have been nice but not a deal breaker.
Value for money
location was great for what I was doing in Toronto and there was public parking right there. Lots of great food around the corner.
The room heat was off and the one in the bathroom was on but not putting out heat.
