Birthday break
Pros:

The Views from hotel was spot on.All staff were friendly and helpfull, had a small hich with tv but was dealt with in minutes. Hotel locacation, food and drinks were great. Stayed here on a few accasions now always as above

Beautiful hotel.....have wanted to stay at Cliff Hotel since 1966. Finally made it !

Not enjoyable
Cons:

Bad service for dinner & breakfast. Both meals were cold when waiting a very long time to get our meals. The room was expensive & the bathroom was awful. Needs maintenance done for the price that we paid.

Great location, Nice to use an independent hotel

Welcome, room size, temperature, comfort, biscuits. Especially the biscuits

Cons:

Only issue was the shower was just a deluge from above. I don't wash my hair every day so couldn't use it as no shower cap and no flexible shower head. Hey ho

The bed in the room I was allocated had the worst mattress I have seen in a long while. It was like a hammock. I asked to move room to a single room where I could move the mattress and sleep on the floor. Come on booking.com this is not acceptable!

I’m sure in its day it was the place to stay and with a touch of magic and time love and hard work it could be something
Pros:

The location was fantastic for what we required of our stay. The bar area is quite nice and the food in the restaurant was ok, the staff were not the friendliest.
The breakfast was nice and the head waitress Maggie is an absolute Gem of the hotel, her witty cheeky personality unfortunately hasn’t rubbed off on other members of staff.
The water pressure is crazy takes seconds to run a bath .

Cons:

It is a little dated and I’m not sure the head of house keeping checks the rooms before guests arrival as there were several little things that should of been dealt with,
Curtains lacked hooks to stop them falling of the end of the pole and also not enough hooks on pole. Only one window opened, we asked for a double bed and got given two single beds pushed together and we kept rolling into the gap.
The extractor fan didn’t work, the shower head was faulty and sprayed out and soaked the bathroom floor realised I could re angle it, but the top of the shower was thick with dust.
The carpets are thread bare and it definitely doesn’t have good sound proofing.
