If ur do in business or pleasure in Montego Bay it is hard to beat the location. They have slowly been doin upgrades that really enhance the rooms. Deluxe rooms really only give you a fridge and coffee in room and a bigger balcony. But the standard room is fine without those amenities.
As all rooms aren't fully upgraded yet, it's a bit of a crap shoot as to what you get, unless you specifically ask.
Rooms near the central staircase are a noise nightmare... Some extra money needs to spend on those to sound proof.
Very clean. Staff very polite and pleasant. Our room was on the first floor, with a pool view and a balcony. We really enjoyed it. The shower was great, and the parking lot also.
The location is awesome if you are there in high season. Off season is a little empty and feels uncomfortable to walk around.
But it served our purpose very nicely.
The restaurant was a lovely surprise!!! So good, the price so fair!
Some information from the front desk would be nice, such as places to go ou to dine in.
My housekeeper warm personality, the rep i spoke to onthe phone, met on my 2nd to last dayand on departure.
I came in extremely late as my flight was late and I was coming from Kingston... when I got to the front I didnt received friendly greeting, security brought my bags up (thankfully) but he was able to properly orient me ab I utilize the room, how the equipment in the room work, iron etc.. i wanted tea and he told me whatever I dont understand I should call the front desk. (Which i didnt) i ended up calling the front desk for the WIFI as the codes that were given weren't working, the lady at the front wasn't able to assist and IT was out and I would have to wait till the morning as this point of more Mr nice guy because I need to reach my family. Then only then she suggested another Wi-Fi, which worked. I hated the location of the room as I was woken up by noise the morning as the back of the room was garage, the room, pool,building was outdated. I work at hotel and to be honest the service I got I couldn't give it to anyone my guest, my over telephone encounter was really good, put my mind as ease but when I got there I was truly disappointed to see that it wasn't the same person. I met her the follow day and upon check out and she was really nice. I can tell the employees means well just needs some training, I understand updating a Resort takes money and proper planning but fix at least the fixtures in the room. The bed side lamp never worked, they weren't plug in. My housekeeper was really nice, very personable, however I got some brown towels ( supposedly waswhite) I never had soap to shower had to use the one I came with.
The food in the restaurant was awesome! Clean room with a small balcony to sit out and enjoy plus a couple pools and hot tub.

Toby's is a home away from home, and has a lovely family feel to it. All staff are amazing and go above and beyond to ensure you have a great time. Especially Mikey at the pool bar.

The property is a little outdated
this hotel multiple chances to redeem itself, but unfortunately the biggest issue is the complete lack of hospitality.
There was one woman at the front desk who was genuinely nice throughout my stay, and I wish I had gotten her name so I could give her proper credit.
Unfortunately, my experience with Kadeen was the complete opposite. I had an argument with her before check-in, and afterward she continued to be extremely rude and unfriendly. There was no greeting, no basic communication, and at checkout she simply stared at me, motioned with her fingers for me to come over, then held out her hand for the keys without saying a word.
The same attitude carried over into the restaurant. The first day I went to get lunch, the host/server was lying on a couch. He got up, looked at me, and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no “how can I help you,” nothing. I walked into the restaurant because I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and he just followed behind me staring. I later realized he was actually the host and server.
The next morning at breakfast was almost identical. I walked in and the woman working there just stared at me without saying anything. I walked directly up to her and we literally stood there looking at each other because she still would not greet me or ask what I needed. Eventually, I just walked out.
Then it happened a third time. My girlfriend went into the restaurant separately, and the same male employee did essentially the exact same thing to her—just stared at her without greeting her or explaining anything. So it wasn’t just my perception; she experienced the same behavior independently and confirmed exactly what I had been saying.
That basically sums up the entire experience. The staff, with the exception of one very nice woman, came across as extremely unfriendly and completely lacking in basic hospitality.
